As President Obama hosts Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at the White House, we learn that groups from within India are working to help the Taliban and other radical Muslim forces destabilize the government in Pakistan. How are they doing this? Is the Indian government involved? What can be done about this? We ask retired U.S. Army Col. Bob Maginnis. He also weighs in on President Obama preparing to announce his strategy in Afghanistan and how political infighting in Iraq could keep U.S. troops there longer than scheduled.
‘An Atomic Bombshell’ in the Climate Debate
Last week, countless emails and other files from a major proponent of the climate change agenda divulge that critical data was intentionally distorted in recent years to build the case for major policy changes needed to fight the perceived threat to the earth. Dr. Tim Ball, former professor of climatology at the University of Winnepeg, explains why this is a seminal moment in this debate – or at least should be. He also explains why a new UN report on higher than expected levels of greenhouse gases actually proves the climate change alarmists are wrong.

‘This Is Fiscal Insanity’
The U.S. Senate will debate for hours…on whether to start debate on the recently unveiled Democratic health care plan. Will Republicans try to slow down the process by having all 2,074 pages read aloud on the floor? Do they have the votes to block debate? What argument do Republicans make for wanting to stop this process now? We ask Kansas Sen. Sam Brownback.

The Capitol Steps continue their Christmas fun with “I Came Upon A Midnight Clearance’ – a look at how Santa upgraded during the Cash for Clunkers rush.
Abortions Galore In Senate Health Bill
This week, Senate Democrats unveiled their 2,074 page health care bill. President Obama and Congressional Democrats have promised throughout this debate that taxpayer dollars would not fund abortions if this legislation passes. So why are pro-life experts calling this a total failure to keep that promise? What does the bill specifically call for on the abortion front? How could taxpayers easily end up paying for elective abortions? Are Democrats right when they say the Stupak amendment to the House bill is more restrictive than the long-standing Hyde amendment? What does the Hyde amendment say anyway? How are Democrats using a very deceptive semantics game to fund abortions through the public option?
We ask Mary Harned, staff counsel at Americans United for Life.
Rep. Joe Wilson Wants Stimulus Audit
After numerous reports of money spent and jobs created in Congressional districts that don’t exist, Rep. Joe Wilson is demanding a full audit of the stimulus money spent thus far. What does he hope to accomplish? How did bogus reports happen in the first place? And how is this fiasco proof that stimulating private sector job creation was the way to go all along? We talk with Rep. Wilson.
The Real Story of the Reid Health Bill
Senate Democrats are unveiling their health care plan at a reported cost of $849 billion over 10 years. So why does our health care policy expert say the real 10-year cost is more like $2.5 trillion once the program actually starts? What sort of accounting gimmicks are used to get to $849 over just six years? Who foots the bill for this? What would the government demand from you as soon as six weeks from now? We ask Grace-Marie Turner of the Galen Institute.
‘Mischief Leading to Murder’
John Gizzi of Human Events tells us about his conversation with former Attorney General Michael Mukasey, who also served as trial judge in the wake of the 1993 World Trade Center bombings. Mukasey says allowing civilian trials for Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and his allies could lead radical followers to target key witnesses who are crucial to the government’s case. Gizzi also says President Obama’s trip to Asia was high on glitz and low on substance. He also weighs in on Doug Hoffman’s decision to ‘unconcede’ in the New York Congressional race and explains why Harry Reid will likely use the nuclear option to pass health care legislation.
Civilian Trial Rewards Terrorists for Attacking U.S.
Arizona Rep. Trent Franks slams the Obama administration defense of putting 9-11 mastermind Khalid Sheik Mohammed on trial in federal court, saying ‘why don’t we just invite them into the nursery to teach our kids?’ He says such a move give terrorists incentive to target Americans on U.S. soil rather than confront our military. He also shreds the reasons Attorney General Eric Holder gives for why Americans should not be concerned about this. And he takes the President to task for possibly taking several more weeks to settle on a policy for Afghanistan.
