Labor Day Special: Answering Questions on the Midterms, Being Wrong, & Football

September 5, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “Labor Day Special: More Answers for Your Questions” on Spreaker.

Happy Labor Day! As we observe the unofficial end of summer, Jim and I present a brand new episode of us answering your questions. Today, we discuss which candidates are likely to overperform or underperform their states’ natural partisan bent in the year’s midterm elections…and we have names from both parties in both categories. We also fess up and admit some things we were wrong about in our political analysis over the years. And we’re asked what we think of college football and all of the big changes happening to the sport as we kick off a new season. Enjoy the discussion, and join us again for our usual format on Tuesday.

Biden’s Demonizing Speech, GOP Senate Infighting, Who Wanted Schools Open?

September 2, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “Biden’s Demonizing Speech, GOP Senate Infighting, Who Wanted Schools Open?” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they unload on President Biden for his ugly, partisan speech accusing Donald Trump and “MAGA Republicans” for endangering our nation and then quickly labeling them as radicals for holding longstanding GOP political positions. They also fume about Mitch McConnell and Rick Scott publicly feuding about the party’s struggles in trying to win back control of the U.S. Senate, and Jim takes us into what what Sen. Scott’s mindset may be in all of this. And they hammer the Biden administration for trying to gaslight the American people about which party wanted schools to open quickly during the pandemic and which side found every excuse in the book to keep them closed.

‘Red Wave of Cash,’ Fed Predicts More ‘Pain,’ FBI’s Election Meddling

August 26, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “‘Red Wave of Cash,’ Fed Predicts More ‘Pain,’ FBI’s Election Meddling” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they welcome the news that badly outspent GOP candidates are getting an infusion of $160 million from Mitch McConnell’s Super PAC for the final push to November. They also shudder as Fed Chairman Jerome Powell says he will be acting aggressively to rein in inflation but that many people will feel “pain” in the meantime. And they hammer the FBI after Facebook Founder Mark Zuckerberg tells Joe Rogan how the Bureau told Facebook to be on the lookout to confront expected Russian disinformation. That led Facebook to limit the reach of posts related to the Hunter Biden laptop story.

August 23, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “#Resist Failure in Florida, America Rejects Recession Spin, Youngkin Hammers Unsafe School” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they serve up three more good martinis! First, they like where Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis stands in his re-election bid and they enjoy watching another progressive darling cruising towards defeat. They don’t like the state of the the economy but they’re also relieved to see nearly 70 percent of Americans rejecting the Biden administration’s bogus argument that we’re not really in a recession.  And they cheer Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin for blasting Fairfax County Public Schools for failing to remove a middle school counselor for soliciting a minor for sex until almost two years after the fact.

Where We Stand in the 2022 Midterms

August 10, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “Where We Stand in the 2022 Midterms” on Spreaker.

Jim and Greg continue their week of special podcasts by focusing on the critical 2022 midterm elections.  They start by looking at the most competitive U.S. Senate races and come to different conclusions about which party is likely to be in control of the Senate next year. They also look at the race for the House, which is likely to swing back to GOP control, but is it a lock and how big of a GOP majority is reasonable to expect?  Finally, they examine the highest profile governor races, which may produce presidential contenders before too long.

July 13, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “Inflation Gets Even Worse, Biden’s Lame Excuses, Hope for Dems in Midterms?” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they shudder at the news of 9.1 percent inflation over the past year. They also sigh as President Biden tries to claim the inflation report is “outdated” because gas prices have fallen since June. And they ‘re not happy to see a new generic congressional ballot poll showing Dems with a slight advantage.

June 20, 2022 by GregC

Jim Geraghty is back! Join Jim and Greg as they welcome news of Asian voters souring on President Biden in big numbers. Bye Felicia, Ugly Inflation, Another Impeachment?

June 10, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “Bye Felicia, Ugly Inflation, Another Impeachment?” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they chronicle the Washington Post finally running out of patience and firing Felicia Somnez after she publicly condemned colleagues and the leadership of the paper for a week. They also cringe as inflation numbers are worse than expected and worse than any time since late 1981. And in the wake of the Dems’ prime time January 6th hearings, they react to Bill Kristol’s ridiculous call for Congress to impeach Donald Trump yet again.

Voters Focused on Inflation, EV Exasperation. PA Senate Saga

June 6, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “U.S. Focused on Inflation, EV Exasperation. PA Senate Saga” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they’re glad to see Americans overwhelmingly worried about inflation and gas prices and planning to vote based on those issues. They also react to Rachel Wolfe’s nightmare journey from New Orleans to Chicago and back in an electric vehicle and what it tells us about how Dems are trying to reorganize our lives. And they discuss the Pennsylvania Senate race, as Dr. Oz officially wins the primary and John Fetterman gets caught downplaying the seriousness of his heart condition.

Dems Fear Huge Latino Shift, DOJ & The Mask Mandate, Is Property Racist?

June 1, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “Dems Fear Huge Latino Shift, DOJ & The Mask Mandate, Is Property Racist?” on Spreaker.

Rob Long is in for Jim. Join Rob & Greg as they cheer the major commitment the GOP is putting into winning over Latino voters as the Dems panic. They also sigh as the Justice Department appeals a judge’s ruling ending mask mandates for planes and other transportation, but Rob explains the long game the DOJ is playing here. And they react to a Boston University professor who suggests the rampant property destruction in the riots of 2020 need to be understood in the context that property is inherently racist because black people were once considered property.
