What Is the Mission in Afghanistan?

August 31, 2009 by GregC

As the U.S. commander in Afghanistan says we need a major strategy revision if we’re going to win the war there, what exactly is the mission for U.S. forces?  Why hasn’t President Obama articulated that?  How confused are the American forces and Afghans about our mission?  How is the war on terror compromised by the public probe of the CIA?  And what is the fallout of an apparent quid pro quo for the release of the Lockerbie bomber?  We ask former Regan, Ford and Nixon administration official K.T. McFarland.

Listen here for the interview and share your thoughts.

August 27, 2009 by GregC
