The Ukraine Divide, GOP Embraces Earmarks, RNC Fight Intensifies

December 22, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “The Ukraine Divide, GOP Embraces Earmarks, RNC Fight Intensifies” on Spreaker.

Jim and Greg wade into the sharp debate on the right over how to approach Ukraine, Zelensky, and their war against Russia. Their biggest frustration is the accusations being lobbed from both sides at anyone who shows the slightest bit of nuance on the issue. They also hammer Republicans for going along with tons of earmarks in the new omnibus bill – wasting countless more taxpayer dollars on frivolous projects. And they react to the Florida GOP pushing for the ouster of Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel and wonder why so many RNC committee members are so loyal to a leader with a pretty dismal electoral record.

GOP Freshman’s Big Lies, Taliban Bars Women from College, Stanford’s Speech Police

December 21, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “GOP Freshman’s Big Lies, Taliban Bars Women from College, Stanford’s Speech Police” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they serve up three crazy martinis today! First, they dig into the curious case of the GOP congressman-elect who calls himself George Santos, after the New York Times discovered that multiple parts of his personal story appear to be fabricated. And all Santos can offer in reply is the pathetic claim that it’s all a political attack. They also shudder as the Taliban bans women from attending university in Afghanistan and all the U.S. can say in response is that this might damage the Taliban’s standing in the international community.  Finally, they react to Stanford University’s “Elimination of Harmful Language Initiative,” which wants to end our use of words like American, ladies, guys, and many more words and phrases constantly used without any ill intent.

They also welcome the Supreme Court issuing a temporary stay that keeps the “Remain in Mexico” policy in place until a formal decision is in place. Finally, they dive into why “Die Hard” is obviously a Christmas movie and share other thoughts about what makes it such a great film.

Targeting TikTok, Americans’ Economic Pessimism, Border Blame Shifting

December 19, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “Targeting TikTok, Americans’ Economic Pessimism, Border Blame Shifting” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they welcome a get-tough approach on China. They applaud Wisconsin Rep. Mike Gallagher warning Americans to get rid of the TikTok app because it’s basically a data harvesting tool of the Chinese Communist Party. They also groan as twice as many Americans described the economy in negative terms, 65 percent said the economy is headed in the wrong direction, and more than half expect it to get worse in 2023. Finally, they slam ABC’s Martha Raddatz for accusing Republicans of creating the border crisis by slamming President Biden’s policies – instead of the open border policies themselves.
