Inez Stepman of the Independent Women’s Forum and host of the “High Noon” podcast is in for Jim. Today, Inez and Greg discuss J. D. Vance’s RNC speech last night, the latest from a steadily collapsing Biden campaign, and Joy Reid’s latest unhinged take on Donald Trump and President Biden.
First, they highlight the most salient points from Vance’s speech. While Jim explained in the Morning Jolt why he did not like the speech because of how it represents an unfortunate shift in the Republican party and Greg has been bothered by heavy union embrace at the RNC, Inez contends that we are living in different times, and Vance’s vision is a necessary one for the country’s future.
Next, they pull out the popcorn as high profile Democrats like Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer shove Biden harder towards ending his re-election bid. His recent gaffes, forgetting the names of President Herbert Hoover and his own Defense Secretary, Lloyd Austin, as well as his recent contraction of Covid-19, are certainly not helping his case.
Finally, they rip Joy Reid’s attempt to compare Joe Biden’s (hopeful) recovery from Covid to Trump recovering from getting shot. Inez quips that Democrats are just “huffing copium” at this point, because Trump obviously has all the luck on his side and has a knack for making the most of key moments.

Inez Stepman of the Independent Women’s Forum and host of the “High Noon” podcast is in for Jim.
First, Inez and Greg assess Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s choice of Nicole Shanahan as his running mate and her startling record of supporting pro-criminal district attorneys and other initiatives aimed at softening penalties for even the worst offenders. But will picking a lefty help Kennedy draw more votes away from Biden?
Next, they recoil as Politico reports Biden is considering amnesty for people who came to this country illegally more than 10 years ago and have family members or others who are citizens who might “suffer” if they were deported. Inez calls this DACA Part 2 but suspects the public reaction would be far more negative this time around.
Finally, they highlight an Atlantic story documenting the brazen anti-Semitism at Stanford University ever since the atrocities perpetrated by Hamas in October – from personnel calling for the murder of President Biden to a speaker singling out Jewish students at a mandatory freshman lecture and more. Inez explains why this was the natural progression of leftism on campus and what steps could easily be taken to shake academia out of it’s radical activism.

Former Chief Assistant U.S. Attorney and National Review Contributing Editor Andy McCarthy is in for Jim. Andy joins Greg at a perfect time to break down three big legal stories.
First, they react to Monday’s oral arguments at the U.S. Supreme Court about whether the government can pressure social media platforms to delete or reduce visibility for posts containing what the government deems misinformation or disinformation.
And they specifically recoil as Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson worries that ruling against the feds will end up having “the First Amendment hamstringing the government in significant ways in the most important time periods.” Andy and Greg stress that is the whole point of the First Amendment, and Andy explains the left’s very disturbing trend of trying to make courts believe the Bill of Rights applies to the government the same way it does to individuals.
Next, they look at Donald Trump’s dilemma in New York City, where the former president says he cannot post the $454 million bond in the judgment against him in the civil fraud trial. Andy says this is an unusual case in that there are no alleged victims and he explains why the size of the judgment is absurdly high.
Finally, they react to Washington state no longer requiring prospective attorneys to pass the bar exam, saying the test “disproportionally and unnecessarily blocks” marginalized groups from becoming attorneys. Andy may surprise you with his opinion about the necessity of the bar exam but he does worry about where the rationale for this change will eventually lead.

Listen to “Three Martinis with Dana Perino” on Spreaker.
Today, Jim and Greg once again take the rare step of bringing a special guest to the 3 Martini Lunch. Today, they welcome in former White House Press Secretary Dana Perino, who is now co-host of “The Five” and “America’s Newsroom” on the Fox News Channel. She was also a moderator for one of the Republican presidential primary debates.
They begin with a discussion of the White House press office, how Perino approached the job during the final years of the George W. Bush administration, how Karine Jean-Pierre is handling the duties, and where the blame properly lies for the communications problems within the Biden White House.
Next, they turn to the 2024 presidential campaign and why Perino believes the report from Special Counsel Robert Hur amounts to the “death knell” for the Biden re-election campaign. They also examine how to maintain viewer interest when the major party primaries are very one-sided, and her thoughts after seeing the results of the Nevada GOP primary.
Finally, they reflect upon Perino’s opportunity to co-moderate one of the Republican primary presidential debates, what it was like to be in the middle of the fray, and why she believes the current format of debates no longer serve the public well.

Join Jim and Greg for good, bad, and crazy martinis to wrap up the work week!
First, they’re impressed as the U.S. economy added 353,000 jobs in January – nearly double the amount expected. They also discuss the potential political impact of reports like this on the 2024 campaign and some additional caveats to the strong numbers.
Then they sigh as squad member and Massachusetts Rep. Ayanna Pressley accuses Walgreen’s of racial discrimination for closing a second store in her district instead of exploring what other reasons the company would have for shutting down that location.
Finally, they fume after a shocking report from Red State shows how the Republican National Committee recklessly spent of money on flowers, limousines, consultants, and office supplies, while the Democratic National Committee focused expenditures on Get Out the Vote campaigns, maintaining voter files, and helping other Dem organizations. And the news only gets worse from there.

Join Jim and Greg as they break down the biggest developments in the presidential race, stubbornly high inflation, and a pivotal day in sports.
First, they dissect former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s decision to suspend his 2024 presidential campaign but not endorse anyone else and trash Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley in addition to Donald Trump.
They also cringe as the December inflation numbers come in higher than expected and the year-over-year numbers are still unhealthy.
Then they analyze the final GOP primary debate as DeSantis and Haley hammer each other instead of President Biden or even their own party’s frontrunner.
Finally, they note the end of a coaching era in pro and college football.

Join Jim and Greg as they wince at a new Bloomberg reports showing how much more Americans are paying for food, electricity, water, rent, childcare, and much more. But the report is an important rebuttal to the Biden administration’s gaslighting that the inflation problem has been solved.
They also groan at reports that just one day after Biden reasonably said he does not trust casualty figures from Hamas, the president buckled under criticism from Muslim leaders, said he was ashamed of himself and promised to do better.
Finally, they have some fun as Education Sec. Miguel Cardona appears to quote President Reagan unironically as having said he was from the government and was here to help. Of course, that’s exactly the opposite of what Reagan said.
