Dallas Mayor Joins GOP, Partisan Divide on Free Speech, Canada Honors a Nazi

September 25, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Dallas Mayor Joins GOP, Partisan Divide on Free Speech, Canada Honors a Nazi” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they cheer Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson switching to the Republican Party, saying the GOP has a much better approach on crime and fiscal discipline. And Jim wonders whether Johnson has larger political ambitions. They also recoil at a Real Clear Politics survey showing a sharp divide between the parties on free speech, with Democrats far more likely to favor government or social media companies cracking down on “hate speech” or speech that possibly threatens national security. Finally, they cringe as Canada’s House of Commons lavishes praise on a 98-year-old Canadian from Ukraine for fighting against Russia during World War II. They just didn’t bother to check which side he was fighting for.

Dems Don’t Want Biden, Hunter Indictment Twist, Biden’s Sudden Exit

September 7, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Dems Don’t Want Biden, Hunter Indictment Twist, Biden’s Sudden Exit” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they marvel at President Biden’s dismal poll numbers, including 58 percent of Americans saying the economy is worse under his leadership and 67 percent of Democrats wanting someone other than Biden as the party’s nominee next year. But Democrats also have no idea whom they would want to replace Biden. They also react to Special Counsel David Weiss announcing that there will likely be an indictment against Hunter Biden on a gun charge by the end of the month, but they also note Andy McCarthy’s assessment that this is not about Weiss finally getting tough on Hunter. Instead, it’s about running out the clock ona wide array of potential charges. Finally, they are highly skeptical of the White House explanation that President Biden exited a Medal of Honor ceremony earlier than usual due to COVID precautions and that it was planned that way.

Trump Declines Debates, Media’s Maui Malpractice, Chicago’s Shooting Hours

August 21, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Trump Declines Debates, Media’s Maui Malpractice, Chicago’s Shooting Hours” on Spreaker.

Hillsdale College Radio General Manager and Radio Free Hillsdale Hour Host Scot Bertram is in for Jim. Today, Scot and Greg serve up all crazy martinis. First, they react to Donald Trump’s apparent decision to skip not only this week’s first GOP presidential debate but to skip all of them. Trump does not see them as necessary given his big leads nationally and in key states, but there are several reasons why he may want to reconsider. They also shudder as Hawaii Gov. Josh Green admits it’s possible or even likely that many of the more than one thousand people still missing from the Maui wildfires are children. But the grim news also raises a big question. How is the likely death of several hundred children not the dominant headline every single day? When looking at previous disasters, the answer seems to be a very predictable one. Finally, they’re almost at a loss for words at the suggestion from a Chicago alderwoman that the number of shootings and killings can be reduced by asking gangs only to shoot people between 9 p.m. – 9 a.m.

‘Manufactured’ Climate Crisis, Another Massive Deficit, Deutsch’s Trump Delusion

August 11, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “‘Manufactured’ Climate Crisis, Another Massive Deficit, Deutsch’s Trump Delusion” on Spreaker.

Ricochet.com Editor-in-Chief Jon Gabriel is in for Jim. Today, Jon and Greg welcome the story of climate scientist Judith Curry, who confirms that the scientific “consensus” on climate change is a “manufactured consensus.” They also get a good laugh out of the proposal from Pacific Gas & Electric to stabilize California’s energy grid. Then they blast both parties as the annual deficit is already more than $1.6 trillion with two more months to go. Finally, they document the hysteria on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” as Donny Deutsch contends that “everything will end” and freedom will end” if Donald Trump wins in 2024.
Timestamps:

Dem’s Shadow Election, Biden & Big Tech Go to Court, Cocaine in the White House

July 6, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Dem’s Shadow Election, Biden & Big Tech Go to Court, Cocaine in the White House” on Spreaker.

Chad Benson from The Chad Benson Show fills in for Greg today as he joins Jim with good, bad, and crazy martinis. They first discuss the “shadow campaigns” run by Democrats such as Gavin Newsom and the Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s possible 2028 run, and how the party has to play around Biden’s run for re-election. They then react to the DOJ appealing a lower court’s ban on the Biden administration’s communication with social media companies to censor “objectionable” posts, with the case likely ending up in the Supreme Court. They finally opine on cocaine found in the White House, with “one familiar with the investigation” by the Secret Service saying the perpetrator is “unlikely to be determined”.

The State of the 2024 Presidential Campaign

June 30, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “The State of the 2024 Presidential Campaign” on Spreaker.

Election Day 2024 is more than 16 months away, but the first Republican debate is less than two months away and voters in the first primary and caucus states will be casting their ballots in just a few months. Today, Jim and Greg examine the state of the campaign in three different ways.
First, they look at the Democratic primary. While President Biden has a commanding lead over Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and Marianne Williamson, the enthusiasm – even among Democrats – is very low for another four years of Biden. Will the Democrats stick with Biden regardless of his approval numbers and mounting evidence of physical and mental decline?
Then they pivot to the Republican primary, where former President Trump has opened a big lead over Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis both nationally and increasingly in the states. Is the GOP base loyalty towards Trump locked in and virtually irreversible or is there an avenue for DeSantis or anyone else to close the gap.
Finally, they preview a likely Biden-Trump rematch and consider how much the electorate has changed in the past few years. Will Biden’s poor performance be enough of a boost for Trump or will Trump’s focus on 2020 and his legal challenges lead to another four years for Biden?

Seeking Sanity in Sports, Dems Going Soft on Venezuela, A Hurd of GOP Hopefuls

June 22, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Seeking Sanity in Sports, Dems Going Soft on Venezuela, A Hurd of GOP Hopefuls” on Spreaker.

Ricochet.com Editor-in-Chief Jon Gabriel is in for Jim today. Join Jon and Greg as they break down Senate hearings on whether biological men who identify as women should be permitted to participate in women’s sports – and the absurd notion from the left that there really is no difference between them when it comes to athletics. They also roll their eyes as a group of House Democrats asks the Biden administration to ease sanctions on Venezuela in order to help the beleaguered Venezuelan people, as if the people would see an ounce of benefit compared to the corrupt communists running the country. Finally, they groan as former Texas Rep. Will Hurd joins a very crowded Republican presidential field with no chance to win but with a very good chance of accomplishing the one thing he doesn’t want to happen.

Dems Choose Chicago, Ukraine’s Gloomy Forecast, Worsening Drug Shortages

April 11, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Dems Choose Chicago, Ukraine’s Gloomy Forecast, Worsening Drug Shortages” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they serve up two crazy martinis along with a bad one today. They begin by scratching their heads over why the Democrats would choose to hold their 2024 national convention in the crime-ridden city of Chicago. They also dig into the bleak forecast the recently leaked intelligence documents are painting for Ukraine in the coming months. Finally, they discuss the worsening shortage of medications – from antibiotics to chemotherapy drugs – and why the supply chain still hasn’t markedly improved for these critical products.

Biden’s Sinking Polls, Dems Defending TikTok, Sinema’s Curious Strategy

March 23, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Biden’s Sinking Polls, Dems Defending TikTok, Sinema’s Curious Strategy” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they welcome a new Associated Press poll showing Americans can clearly see President Biden’s weak performance on the economy and his overall job performance. They also groan as the CEO of TikTok tries to dodge questions about whether the app is spying on users and TikTok’s connection to the Chinese Communist Party. Plus, they hammer the Democrats for glibly opposing the effort to crack down on TikTok after agreeing to ban it on government devices last year. Finally, they break down Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema’s strategy of cozying up to the right in advance of a likely 2024 re-election bid.

Dems Sour on Abrams, China & Marijuana, Dem Demeans School Parents

March 21, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Dems Sour on Abrams, China & Marijuana, Dem Demeans School Parents” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they enjoy watching Georgia Democrats squirm at the prospect of Stacey Abrams running for high office again soon. They also fume over reports that groups with close ties to the Chinese Communist Party are heavily involved in illegal marijuana production here in the U.S. Between weed and fentanyl, China’s agenda concerning our kids seems pretty clear. Finally, they condemn the comments of a Georgia state lawmaker who contends that people who didn’t finish high school are “not qualified” to make decisions about where their kids go to school.
