Mamdani’s Far Left Agenda for NYC, Truth Traps Tapper on Biden, Lorenz’s Nasty 9/11 Comments

May 30, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “Mamdani’s Far Left Agenda for NYC, Truth Traps Tapper on Biden, Lorenz’s Nasty 9/11 Comments” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for 3 Martini Lunch as they focus on three  crazy martinis to wrap up the week, as they tear into New York City mayoral hopeful Zohran Mamdani’s rent freeze scheme and his other far-left ideas, expose Jake Tapper’s ongoing excuses for his role in the Biden health cover up, and reproach Taylor Lorenz for her ugly remarks about 9/11.

First, Jim and Greg groan at the economic lunacy of Zohran Mamdani as he pledges to freeze rent across New York City if elected mayor. He’s also promising government-run grocery stores, “free” child care, and free bus rides — all paid for by hiking taxes on “the rich.”

Next, they harangue Jake Tapper for claiming he could not have done anything else to reveal the mental decline of Biden. Instead, Tapper blames it on the Biden family for pretending like nothing was wrong. Jim and Greg wonder how Tapper can act so innocent when the public has known for a long time about the incompetence of the former president.

Finally, they fume over the audacity of disturbed journalist Taylor Lorenz for suggesting 9/11 is treated as a joke by younger generations and people even have parties to mock it. Jim is baffled that after demonstrating her paranoia over masking and praising accused murderer Luigi Mangione, Lorenz believes she should be taken seriously. Her claims that 9/11 is a punchline is horrifying and further plummets her credibility as a journalist.

Dem Rep Faces Felony Charge, DOJ Probes Chicago Mayor’s Hires, The College AI Crisis

May 20, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “Dem Rep Faces Felony Charge, DOJ Probes Chicago Mayor’s Hires, The College AI Crisis” on Spreaker.

Hillsdale College Radio General Manager and Radio Free Hillsdale Hour host Scot Bertram fills in for Jim on Tuesday’s 3 Martini Lunch. Join Scot and Greg as they dissect the media’s latest effort to protect President Biden, a New Jersey congresswoman facing a felony charge, a Justice Department probe into the Chicago mayor’s hiring practices, and college students increasingly leaning on artificial intelligence to complete their coursework.

First, after a quick take on the media once again running interference for Biden, Scot and Greg focus on U.S. Attorney Alina Habba charging New Jersey Rep. LaMonica McIver with assaulting, impeding, and interfering with law enforcement during an incident at a New Jersey ICE facility earlier this month. House Democrats are outraged and are threatening retaliation. Scot notes the partisan double standard when it comes to legal accountability, while Greg dismisses the idea that elected officials are somehow immune from arrest under any circumstances.

Next, they examine the Justice Department’s investigation into whether Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson discriminated in city hiring by prioritizing candidates based on race. The probe follows Johnson’s recent remarks explaining his preference for hiring black employees. Scot says the issue becomes obvious when you read the same statement but refer to a different race.

Finally, they shake their heads as college professors are scrambling to stop students from using artificial intelligence to do their work. They’re also stunned at how helpless many students feel without it. Scot shares how Hillsdale addresses the problem and argues the issue reveals something deeper about why students attend college in the first place.

Biden Cancer Diagnosis Sparks Questions, The Biden-Hur Audio, Chicago Schools Spiraling

May 19, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “Biden Cancer Diagnosis Sparks Questions, The Biden-Hur Audio, Chicago Schools Spiraling” on Spreaker.

Hillsdale College Radio General Manager and Radio Free Hillsdale Hour host Scot Bertram fills in for Jim on 3 Martini Lunch. Scot and Greg react to the breaking news of Joe Biden’s advanced prostate cancer diagnosis and the new questions it raises about his administration’s transparency, the painful recordings of Biden and Special Counsel Robert Hur, and shocking attendance failures in Chicago Public Schools that officials keep rewarding.

First, they discuss the serious and sad revelation that former President Biden is battling prostate cancer that has metastasized to his bones. But this news also shines the spotlight even brighter on what Biden and his staff knew while he was president and whether they covered up this health crisis as well as his cognitive decline. And can we believe anything they tell us?

Next, Scot and Greg examine the newly released audio from Biden’s October 2023 interview with Special Counsel Robert Hur. The tapes directly contradict Democrats’ spin and support Hur’s conclusion that Biden was mentally diminished. Scot also stresses that the recent revelations in books and interviews are just a drop in the bucket and there are still many serious questions that linger. But the Biden team and the media have little incentive to answer them.

Finally, they spotlight alarming data out of Chicago, where 25 percent of public school students missed at least 35 days of school last year. That’s double the pre-pandemic absentee rate. But somehow graduation numbers continue to rise. Local school officials blame parents for no longer prioritizing in-person school attendance, but Scot and Greg know exactly who is responsible for creating that mindset.

Hamas Releases Last American Hostage, Trump & the Qatari Plane, Media Blame Shifting Over Biden

May 12, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “Hamas Releases Last American Hostage, Trump & the Qatari Plane, Media Blame Shifting Over Biden” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for the 3 Martini Lunch as they discuss the new pope, Hamas freeing the final American hostage, the Qataris trying to gift President Trump a new Air Force One, and Chuck Todd saying “sources” were the real “culprits” in perpetuating the the myth that Joe Biden was up to the job of president.

First, after a quick discussion on the new pontiff, they breathe a major sigh of relief at the news that Hamas has released Edan Alexander, the last living American hostage from the October 2023 attacks on Israel. Jim says this is undoubtedly good news and he hopes the U.S. keeps applying pressure until all the Israeli hostages under Hamas control are freed as well.

Next, as Trump heads to the Middle East, they urge caution as Qatar offers the president the gift of a luxury Boeing 747 as a new Air Force One. Jim points out that Boeing is woefully behind in producing the next generation plane for the president but says this is still a very bad idea. Questions are swirling about what the Qataris really want in return, but Jim and Greg are more concerned about how the plane could be bugged or compromise national security in some other way given Qatar’s longstanding friendliness with terrorist groups and rogue regimes.

Finally, they get a kick out of longtime NBC News host Chuck Todd saying it’s not the media who should be blamed for covering up Joe Biden’s obvious decline. No, he blames it on “sources” close to Biden who assured him and other reporters Biden was just fine. It’s the latest pathetic excuse for the media, who saw and heard Biden as often as he was in public and dutifully carried the water for Biden’s fitness as he ran for re-election.

Stories That Need More Coverage: Unsustainable Debt, China’s Ambitions, Persecution of Christians & More

May 9, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “The Stories That Need More Coverage: Our Debt, China’s Ambitions, Persecution of Christians & More” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for a special edition of the 3 Martini Lunch, as they spotlight some of the most underreported stories of 2025. Which critical issues are the media ignoring entirely? And when the stories are covered, what vital context is missing? Today, Jim and Greg each offer three key examples where the press is failing the public.

First, Jim sounds the alarm on the national debt and the media’s refusal to grapple with the long-term consequences of unsustainable entitlement spending. With Democrats now opposing cuts proposed by DOGE, the press is fixated on the political drama while ignoring the looming fiscal disaster. Meanwhile, Greg blasts the media for siding with illegals in deportation cases while downplaying or completely ignoring the violent crimes committed by individuals living in the U.S. illegally.

Next, Jim flags the lack of serious reporting on China’s growing aggression in the South China Sea, warning that the threat is real but getting very little coverage or condemnation. Greg turns to California, where wildfire victims are still waiting on government permits to rebuild their homes, just as he and Jim predicted would happen months ago.

Finally, Jim asks why more Americans aren’t demanding that U.S. colleges prioritize American students over international applicants. And Greg calls out the media’s near-total silence on the brutal persecution and killings of Christians in Nigeria, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and other parts of the world.

Zeldin Slashes EPA Waste, Left Still Idolizing Luigi Mangione, Trump Teases Third Term

April 1, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “Zeldin Slashes EPA Waste, Left Still Idolizing Luigi Mangione, Trump Teases Third Term” on Spreaker.

Ricochet Co-Founder Rob Long joins Greg for another round of the 3 Martini Lunch! Today, they break down EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin’s aggressive cuts to government waste, a California lawyer’s disturbing tribute to an alleged murderer, and the media’s latest meltdown over Trump teasing a third term.

First, they cheer Zeldin for shutting down the EPA’s costly and little-visited museum focused on environmental justice and climate change—saving taxpayers millions. With more wasteful spending and burdensome regulations under review, Zeldin is emerging as a major force at the agency and Rob suspects Zeldin will have an even brighter political future.

Next, they recoil at a Los Angeles attorney naming his proposed health care ballot measure after accused murderer Luigi Mangione. The Luigi Mangione Access to Health Care Act as a possible state referendum requiring health insurance companies to approve any procedure doctors says is critical to survival or quality of life. But its namesake is charged with the brazen killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson last year in New York City. Rob and Greg discuss the left’s unsettling admiration for this suspect.

Finally, they analyze President Trump’s recent comments about running for a third term. While the Constitution bars such a move, the real story is how effortlessly Trump can provoke the left and the media into another frenzy.

Special Election Stress, More Signal Messages Revealed, How Biden’s Team Muzzled Media

March 26, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “Special Election Stress, More Signal Messages Revealed, How Biden's Team Muzzled Media” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for 3 Martini Lunch as they analyze Republican special election losses and fears there could be more, the latest revelations on the Signal controversy, and the Biden press team’s heavy-handed control over the media.

First, they break down GOP defeats for the state house and state senate in Pennsylvania, including one which Republicans should have won easily. They also highlight the high-stakes Wisconsin Supreme Court race, where Democratic turnout appears to be stronger. Plus, they note additional concerns over an upcoming Florida House race. But Jim says the good news is that the GOP still has time to recover in both Wisconsin and Florida.

Next, they dive into The Atlantic’s publication of Signal messages from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, revealing details about planned U.S. military actions against the Houthis. National Security Adviser Michael Waltz downplayed the report by noting critical details that were not included in Hegseth’s comments. So where does this debate stand now?

Finally, they react to a former Jill Biden media staffer’s claims that President Biden’s press team not only demanded to know reporters’ questions in advance but also dictated which interview quotes could be published after the conversations took place.

Trump’s Education Overhaul, American Freed from Afghanistan, Will Dems Lurch Further Left?

March 21, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “Trump’s Education Overhaul, American Freed from Afghanistan, Will Dems Lurch Further Left?” on Spreaker.

Undisputed King of Stuff and Sink the Rising Sun author Jon Gabriel fills in for Jim today. Join Jon and Greg as they analyze President Trump’s executive order to dismantle the Department of Education, the release of an American prisoner from the Taliban, and a plurality of Democrats being fed up with their own party’s leaders in Congress.

First, they commend President Trump’s decision to phase out the Department of Education, citing the decline in student performance since its creation in 1979. Jon and Greg explain how this move won’t end public education but will likely improve it by shifting control to state and local officials. They also push back against Democrats like Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who frame this as an existential crisis for schools.

Next, they celebrate the release of American George Glezmann, who had been held hostage by the Taliban. While relieved that no Taliban members were freed in exchange, Jon and Greg criticize the Biden administration for failing to classify Glezmann as “improperly detained” for more than a year. They also slam the media for downplaying the plight of Americans imprisoned or killed by oppressive regimes and terrorist groups.

Finally, they break down polling showing more Democrats view their congressional leadership negatively than positively. They also discuss the possibility of a tea party-style movement pushing the party further left and marvel at how Democrats continue to misread voter sentiment.

Bezos’ Pro-Freedom Op-Ed Page, Dems’ Immigrant Hypocrisy, Media’s Inflation Double Standard

February 27, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “Bezos’ Pro-Freedom Op-Ed Page, Dems’ Immigrant Hypocrisy, Media’s Inflation Double Standard” on Spreaker.

Hillsdale College Radio General Manager and Radio Free Hillsdale Hour Host Scot Bertram fills in for Jim on 3 Martini Lunch. Join Scot and Greg as they discuss Jeff Bezos’ pledge to make The Washington Post’s op-ed page a champion of personal and economic freedom, the blatant hypocrisy of Democrats on immigration, and the media’s shifting narrative on inflation.

First, they cautiously welcome Bezos’ public commitment to discussing the virtues of personal liberty and free markets. While they dislike his stance that opposing views won’t be featured, they appreciate that arguments for limited government will reach a wider audience.

Next, they highlight the astonishing hypocrisy of congressional Democrats. After years of condemning Trump’s deportation policies, they’ve suddenly found an immigrant they don’t trust. Ohio Rep. Marcy Kaptur is now questioning Elon Musk’s loyalty to the U.S. because he’s only been in the country for 22 years.

Finally, they call out the media’s sudden concern over rising egg prices after years of downplaying inflation under Biden. While they agree Trump isn’t responsible for the cost of eggs, they note voters will soon demand real results from him on both food prices and overall inflation.

Leavitt’s Strong Start, Sabotaging Trump’s Orders, California Dems Seek a Scapegoat

January 29, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “Leavitt’s Strong Start, Sabotaging Trump’s Orders, California Dems Seek a Scapegoat” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for 3 Martini Lunch as they dive into three key issues: the debut of the new White House Press Secretary, the manipulative tactics of anti-Trump bureaucrats, and California Democrats’ wanting to let people sue energy companies for natural disasters.

First, they praise new White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt for her polished performance, sharp policy explanations, and ability to spar with reporters without heavy reliance on notes—offering a sharp contrast to Karine Jean-Pierre. Jim and Greg also highlight how many in the press corps immediately shift from lapdogs to pit bulls when a Republican administration comes in.

Next, they expose how left-wing bureaucrats intentionally misinterpret Trump’s executive orders to generate bad press or force policy reversals. Examples include the U.S. Air Force claiming it would stop teaching about the Tuskegee Airmen due to Trump’s DEI directives and the confusion over the federal spending freeze.

Finally, they analyze California Democrats’ push to let residents sue energy companies for damages from natural disasters, blaming fossil fuels for climate change. Jim explains why this legislation is more about political scapegoating than addressing the root causes of disasters.
