Our Very Consistent Climate, Economy Slightly Shrinks, Will Dems Use DEI to Ditch David Hogg?

April 30, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “Our Very Consistent Climate, Economy Slightly Shrinks, Will Dems Use DEI to Ditch David Hogg?” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for 3 Martini Lunch as they discuss a new climate report that the left will immediately ignore, the economy shrinking slightly in the first quarter, and the Democrats turning to hilarious methods to kick David Hogg out of his DNC leadership position.

First, they spotlight a new report from the University of Exeter showing that polar ice levels have remained remarkably consistent over the past two decades. It also aligns with research showing the climate is cyclical and polar ice levels rise and fall as these cycles play out. Jim and Greg contrast this data with the apocalyptic projections of Al Gore and others over the past few decades.

Next, they wince as the U.S. economy (GDP) contracted by 0.3 percent. They also point out that the decline was overwhelmingly driven by a huge increase in imports as countries raced to get their products here before the Trump tariffs kicked in. Without the surge in imports, we likely would have seen GDP increase by more than three percent. What does this news tell us about where the economy is heading from here?

Finally, they have a lot of fun watching the Democratic National Committee turn to identity politics in it’s latest, obvious attempt to run David Hogg out of its leadership. There is now a challenge to Hogg’s election back in January. One of the candidates he defeated says the election process was unfair to women of color. Jim and Greg have some fun imagining what the DNC will look like if this woke approach is followed to its natural conclusion.

GOP Protects Consumer Freedom, Dems’ SAVE Act Silliness, The Clash Over Clock Changing

April 11, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “GOP Protects Consumer Freedom, Dems’ SAVE Act Silliness, The Clash Over Clock Changing” on Spreaker.

Hillsdale College Radio General Manager and Radio Free Hillsdale Hour Host Scot Bertram fills in for Jim on 3 Martini Lunch. Join Scot and Greg as they discuss the GOP’s push for consumer freedom, Democrats’ extreme opposition to making sure only citizens can vote, and President Trump’s call to make Daylight Saving Time permanent.

First, they praise President Trump’s executive order restoring consumer choice over showerhead water pressure, along with a U.S. Senate vote to repeal a Biden-era rule targeting gas-powered water heaters. Scot and Greg see these moves as a strong rejection of the left’s absurd climate agenda and unnecessary government interference in everyday life.

Next, they cheer the House passage of the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, which would require proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections. Democrats are leveling bizarre claims that the bill would disenfranchise married women who changed their names. Scot and Greg dismantle those arguments and call out Rep. Eric Swalwell and others for resorting to profanity and theatrics  to act like they’re fighting hard against the GOP.

Finally, as President Trump calls for making Daylight Saving Time (DST) permanent, Scot explains why permanent Standard Time makes far more sense if you’re going to make one time permanent. He also points out that America tried year-round DST back in the 1970s and hated it. And, while neither of them particularly enjoy the time changes, Scot and Greg also wonder why so many people are suddenly obsessed with this issue when nobody really seemed to care about it a generation ago.

Leavitt’s Strong Start, Sabotaging Trump’s Orders, California Dems Seek a Scapegoat

January 29, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “Leavitt’s Strong Start, Sabotaging Trump’s Orders, California Dems Seek a Scapegoat” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for 3 Martini Lunch as they dive into three key issues: the debut of the new White House Press Secretary, the manipulative tactics of anti-Trump bureaucrats, and California Democrats’ wanting to let people sue energy companies for natural disasters.

First, they praise new White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt for her polished performance, sharp policy explanations, and ability to spar with reporters without heavy reliance on notes—offering a sharp contrast to Karine Jean-Pierre. Jim and Greg also highlight how many in the press corps immediately shift from lapdogs to pit bulls when a Republican administration comes in.

Next, they expose how left-wing bureaucrats intentionally misinterpret Trump’s executive orders to generate bad press or force policy reversals. Examples include the U.S. Air Force claiming it would stop teaching about the Tuskegee Airmen due to Trump’s DEI directives and the confusion over the federal spending freeze.

Finally, they analyze California Democrats’ push to let residents sue energy companies for damages from natural disasters, blaming fossil fuels for climate change. Jim explains why this legislation is more about political scapegoating than addressing the root causes of disasters.

Hunter’s Pleas, DeSantis’ Judges, Social Media Menace, Arson Activism

June 20, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Hunter’s Pleas, DeSantis’ Judges, Social Media Menace, Arson Activism” on Spreaker.

Hillsdale College Radio General Manager and Radio Free Hillsdale Hour Host Scot Bertram is in for Jim today. Join Scot and Greg as they give you four martinis for the price of three. First, they react to Hunter Biden’s plea deal on gun and tax charges. They then get a good laugh as the left criticizes Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for appointing conservative judges to the Florida Supreme Court. They lament the new University of Michigan report claiming that social media has caused a massive spike in self-reported depression symptoms among teens. Finally, they conclude with the story of a climate activist and Democrat donor’s arson on a California forest, destroying 127 homes and displacing thousands of people.

Americans Reject EV Mandates, China’s Latest Aggression, CNN’s Identity Crisis

June 5, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Americans Reject EV Mandates, China’s Latest Aggression, CNN’s Identity Crisis” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they welcome a new survey showing American overwhelmingly opposed to phasing out gas-powered vehicles and fossil fuel-based energy, not to mention paying a lot more for their energy. They also groan as the Chinese take threatening action against a U.S. Navy destroyer in the Taiwan Strait and wonder if the Biden administration has a coherent strategy for dealing with the CCP. Finally, they react to the Tim Alberta’s profile of embattled CNN CEO and Chairman Chris Licht and why granting any journalist access to just about every part of your life is almost always a horrible idea.
