GOP vs. Biden on Energy, Trump Indicted, CBS Silences Reporters

March 31, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Biden vs. Reality on Energy, Trump Indicted, CBS Silences Reporters” on Spreaker.

Ricochet.com Editor-in-Chief Jon Gabriel is in for Jim. Today, Jon and Greg discuss the House Republicans passing legislation to encourage more domestic energy production. Plus, they note Majority Leader Steve Scalise calling out Biden for throwing up hurdles to domestic exploration while asking for help from nations that hate us. They also react to a Manhattan grand jury indicting President Trump over details concerning his payments to Stormy Daniels back in 2016. With even the Washington Post editorial board suggesting this is a bad idea, what will be the legal and political fallout now and down the road? Finally, they react to reports saying that CBS News is now telling its reporters not to mention that the Nashville killer was transgender.

Battle Over Billionaires, America’s Shrinking Navy, Biden’s Tall Tales

March 30, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Battle Over Billionaires, America’s Shrinking Navy, Biden’s Tall Tales” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they cheer former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz for pushing back against Sen. Bernie Sanders and other Democrats for trying to demonize him because he’s a billionaire. Schultz explains how the American dream allowed him to rise from humble beginnings to achieve great wealth – a story Sanders had no interest in hearing of course. They also shudder at multiple reports that the Biden administration’s Navy budget proposal doesn’t even keep up with inflation, we’re retiring vessels critical to deterring Chinese aggression, and within five years China’s navy will have 150 more ships than we do. Finally, they roll their eyes as President Biden acts like he’s an honorary member of another ethnicity – this time it’s the Greeks.

Marshals Told Not to Arrest, Should We See the Manifesto? America’s Spending Paradox

March 29, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Marshals Told Not to Arrest, Should We See the Manifesto? America’s Spending Paradox” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they applaud Alabama Sen. Katie Britt and her staff for discovering that U.S. Marshals were told not to arrest demonstrators outside the home of Supreme Court justices over last year’s leaked abortion ruling, even though they were clearly violating federal law. They also dive into the debate over whether the Nashville killer’s manifesto ought to be made public after the police say it will not be released while the investigation is active. What are the considerations for and against making it available? Finally, they sigh at another depressing poll, as Americans overwhelmingly think the federal government spends too much money but also strongly believe it spends too little on several key drivers of spending.

The Nashville School Nightmare

March 28, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “The Nashville School Nightmare” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they devote today’s podcast to discussing the horrific mass shooting at the Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee, on Monday. The attack left three precious children dead, along with three adults who lost their lives trying to protect the kids. First, they honor the brave police officers who responded quickly to the crisis, immediately entered the school in an urgent search for the killer, and eliminated the threat within a few minutes without endangering anyone else. They also groan at news that the killer had detailed plans to attack three different locations and also texted a friend that she was going to die yesterday and that her death would be on the news. Finally, they fume as the media criticize police for referring to the killer as a woman (which is correct) instead of as a transgender man.

Please note: There is audio from the police bodycams of the moments when the killer was neutralized. That audio starts at the 2:24 mark. If you prefer not to hear it, you can skip to the 2:48 mark, when our conversation resumes.

Athletic Sanity, America’s Plummeting Values, The #NeverTrump Grift Continues

March 27, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Athletic Sanity, America’s Plummeting Values, The #NeverTrump Grift Continues” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they cheer the World Athletics Council for declaring that only biological women will be eligible for the Olympics and other elite track and field events. They also recoil at a new poll showing a sharp decline in Americans greatly valuing things like patriotism, religion, having children, and community involvement. Finally, they further expose the grifting frauds who claim to think President Trump is an existential threat to democracy itself but are doing everything they can to bury Ron DeSantis and make Trump the GOP nominee.

Striking Back at Iran, Politico Puff Pieces, Hillary’s ‘Running’

March 24, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Striking Back at Iran, Politico Puff Pieces, Hillary’s ‘Running'” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they welcome news of the U.S. striking back against Iranian-backed bases in Syria after an Iranian drone targeted a U.S. position. But they also wonder why the Biden administration is simultaneously easing sanctions against Iran so it can make millions selling electricity to Iraq. They also roll their eyes as Politico rolls out puff pieces on Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley. Both Bragg and Milley are lauded as examples of apolitical devotion to their jobs.  But the facts tell a very different story. Finally, they have fun with the Columbia University promotion of Hillary Clinton “running” again – but only to teach her new class on her experience in foreign policy.

Biden’s Sinking Polls, Dems Defending TikTok, Sinema’s Curious Strategy

March 23, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Biden’s Sinking Polls, Dems Defending TikTok, Sinema’s Curious Strategy” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they welcome a new Associated Press poll showing Americans can clearly see President Biden’s weak performance on the economy and his overall job performance. They also groan as the CEO of TikTok tries to dodge questions about whether the app is spying on users and TikTok’s connection to the Chinese Communist Party. Plus, they hammer the Democrats for glibly opposing the effort to crack down on TikTok after agreeing to ban it on government devices last year. Finally, they break down Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema’s strategy of cozying up to the right in advance of a likely 2024 re-election bid.

DeSantis Laughs Off Trump Insults, More Uvalde Frustration, Reparations Madness

March 22, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “DeSantis Laughs Off Insults, More Uvalde Frustration, Reparations Madness” on Spreaker.

Ricochet Editor-in-Chief Jon Gabriel is in for Jim today. Jon and Greg think Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is playing it smart by laughing off the regular insults from Donald Trump instead of trying to respond in kind. They also groan as a police detective who was on scene at last year’s school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, says law enforcement took more than an hour to confront the shooter in part because he had a more powerful weapon than that first thought. Finally, they walk through the absurd reparations proposals under serious consideration by officials in San Francisco.

Dems Sour on Abrams, China & Marijuana, Dem Demeans School Parents

March 21, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Dems Sour on Abrams, China & Marijuana, Dem Demeans School Parents” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they enjoy watching Georgia Democrats squirm at the prospect of Stacey Abrams running for high office again soon. They also fume over reports that groups with close ties to the Chinese Communist Party are heavily involved in illegal marijuana production here in the U.S. Between weed and fentanyl, China’s agenda concerning our kids seems pretty clear. Finally, they condemn the comments of a Georgia state lawmaker who contends that people who didn’t finish high school are “not qualified” to make decisions about where their kids go to school.

Russia & China Grow Closer, Mexican President’s Accusations, Trump Legal Drama

March 20, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Russia & China Grow Closer, Mexican President’s Accusations, Trump Legal Drama” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they serve up three bad martinis. First, they wince as Chinese dictator Xi Xinping visits Moscow to strengthen ties with Vladimir Putin. They also react to Mexico’s socialist president rejecting any blame for the fentanyl epidemic in the U.S. Instead, he blames American parents for not hugging their children enough. Finally, they assess the legal drama swirling around former President Trump, the far left Manhattan district attorney who may be poised to indict Trump, and how legal experts throughout the political spectrum believe the forthcoming charges are very dubious.
