Anti-Semitic DC Murders, North Korea Fails to Launch, Sen. Coons Keeps Covering for Biden

May 22, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “Anti-Semitic DC Murders, North Korea Fails to Launch, Sen. Coons Keeps Covering for Biden” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for Thursday’s 3 Martini Lunch as they react to the House narrowly passing President Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill, shocking anti-Semitic murders in Washington, a humiliating naval blunder for North Korea, and Delaware Sen. Chris Coons still trying to defend Joe Biden’s re-election bid.

First, after noting the House passage of the administration’s top legislative priority and two Republicans inexplicably missing the vote, they recoil at the horrifying murders of two Israeli embassy employees in Washington. The alleged shooter reportedly shouted “Free Free Palestine” while being arrested. Jim highlights the ongoing danger posed to Jewish Americans and anyone who associates with them as unabashed anti-Semitism rages on college campuses and beyond.

Next, they lighten things up with reports of a North Korean warship getting severely damaged during a launch ceremony attended by Kim Jong-Un. The failed launch is a major embarrassment for the regime. But while public humiliation for Kim is welcome news, Jim and Greg note the grim likelihood that those blamed for the incident will face brutal punishment.

Finally, they get a kick out of Delaware Sen. Chris Coons, one of Biden’s closest allies, dodging questions about his post-debate remarks insisting Biden could still serve another term. Coons now says he doesn’t want to “relitigate” the past but focus on the future.

Columbia Cracks Down, Bernie’s Brazen Hypocrisy, Biden Blames Sexism & Racism for Kamala’s Loss

May 8, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “Columbia Cracks Down, Bernie’s Brazen Hypocrisy, Biden Blames Sexism & Racism for Kamala’s Loss” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for Wednesday’s 3 Martini Lunch as they break down Columbia University’s improved handling of anti-Israel demonstrators, Bernie Sanders’ laughable defense of private jet travel, and Joe Biden’s worn-out excuses for why Kamala Harris lost to President Trump in 2024.

First, they blast the chaos at Columbia’s Butler Library, where pro-Hamas protesters disrupted students preparing for finals. But Jim and Greg give credit to the NYPD for requiring students to identify themselves before exiting and to the acting university president for offering one of the strongest administrative condemnations yet of these campus takeovers.

Next, they shake their heads in amazement as Sen. Bernie Sanders says he needs to travel on private planes for his “Fighting Oligarchy Tour.” Sanders says it’s absurd to expect him to stand in line at airports like everyone else. Jim and Greg compare Sanders’ hypocrisy to globe-trotting climate activists who, also use private jets, and insist they’re above the rules they champion.

Finally, they’re glad to see Joe Biden is still alive based on his appearance today on The View. But Biden’s pathetic suggestions that racism and sexism are responsible for Kamala Harris losing in 2024 are really getting old. They also point out that Harris likely tanked her own campaign because of an appearance on The View in October. And Jim cites recent revelations about Biden’s inner circle reportedly trashing her to donors behind the scenes while trying to salvage his campaign.

NYT’s Unobscured Trump Attack, Trump Wants to Reopen Alcatraz, The Obamas’ Endless Whining

May 5, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “NYT’s Unobscured Trump Attack, Trump Wants to Reopen Alcatraz, The Obamas’ Endless Whining” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for Tuesday’s 3 Martini Lunch as they dig into the New York Times’ latest attempt to undermine President Trump and congressional Republicans, Trump’s push to reopen Alcatraz as a federal prison, and Michelle Obama’s newest, tiresome complaints about life in the White House.

First, they tear into the New York Times for framing the Congressional Review Act (CRA) as an “obscure” tool possibly being misused by Republicans to undo Biden-era regulations. The article warns readers that opponents can’t filibuster CRA rollbacks—something the left suddenly finds troubling now that Republicans control Congress. Jim dismantles the Times’ arguments, defends Trump’s use of the CRA, and calls out the media’s hypocritical coverage of these tactics.

Next, they react to President Trump’s call to reopen Alcatraz as a prison for the nation’s most dangerous criminals. He also hints at sending criminal illegals there, blaming judges “that are afraid to do their job and allow us to remove criminals.” Jim and Greg aren’t sure that specifically rebuilding Alcatraz is the answer, but they do like the like of sending our worst criminals top laces that will be remote and will become synonymous with a thoroughly miserable experience for the inmates. And some of their ideas for how to do this are out of this world.

Finally, they roll their eyes at Michelle Obama’s latest White House grievances—this time about paying for their own private meals and also travel for their children when the president wasn’t with them. Jim and Greg are tired of how the Obamas continue to portray themselves as victims while enjoying elite status—but are enjoy seeing how their political influence continues to fade within the Democratic Party.

Trump & Greenland, Newsom’s PR Campaign, Biden Thinks Kamala Would Have Beaten Trump?

January 13, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “Trump & Greenland, Newsom’s PR Campaign, Biden Thinks Kamala Would Have Beaten Trump?” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg on the 3 Martini Lunch as they discuss Donald Trump’s potential progress on Greenland, Gavin Newsom’s focus on his public image amid a crisis, and President Biden’s confusing comments about Kamala Harris and the 2024 election.

First, they’re interested in what might come next as officials in both Denmark and and Greenland are interested in further talks with the incoming Trump administration. Denmark says it won’t sell Greenland to us but what positives could come out of further negotiations?

Next, Jim takes aim at California Governor Gavin Newsom, criticizing his self-centered approach during the ongoing wildfire crisis. Instead of locked in on the urgent situation at hand, Newsom seems more concerned with his personal image and public relations. Jim also explores how Newsom’s attempt to combat “misinformation” is actually generating more misinformation.

Finally, they scratch their heads after President Biden says Kamala Harris “could have and would have” beaten Donald Trump in the 2024 election. And his efforts to clarify only made things more confusing. Does Biden actually know what’s happened over the past six months?

2024 Martini Awards Finale: Person of the Year, Loser of the Year, Turncoat of the Year

December 31, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “2024 Martini Awards Finale: Person of the Year, Loser of the Year, Turncoat of the Year” on Spreaker.

Jim and Greg close out 2024 with the finale of this year’s 3 Martini Lunch Awards. Today, they give out their prestigious choices for Person of the Year, Loser of the Year, and Turncoat of the Year.

On Person of the Year, they both choose Donald Trump. Jim says the choice is so obvious that he spends his time focusing on the astounding year that his runner-up (and a close Trump ally) had in 2024. Meanwhile, Greg chronicles the staggering comeback Trump has achieved over the past year and really the past four years.

For Loser of the Year, Jim chooses the man whose stock plummeted the most in the past 12 months and he says there is a runaway winner. Meanwhile, Greg picks a group of people whose awkward efforts to engineer the outcome of the 2024 campaign imploded in spectacular fashion.

For Turncoat of the Year, Jim chooses a figure who used to align with the left and not only flipped to supporting the Trump-Vance ticket but embodies a demographic that supported Trump in huge numbers this year. Greg offers a whole list of conservatives who actually endorsed and even campaigned for Kamala Harris. But he has another choice that may be our favorite turncoat ever.

2024 Martini Awards Part 3: Biggest Lie, Best Political Theater, Worst Political Theater

December 26, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “2024 Martini Awards Part 3: Biggest Lie, Best Political Theater, Worst Political Theater” on Spreaker.

We hope you had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed our conversation with Die Hard legend Robert Davi! Jim and Greg are back today for the third round of the Three Martini Lunch Awards. Today, they discuss the Biggest Lie, Best Political Theater, and Worst Political Theater of 2024.

They start with the biggest lies of the year. Jim kicks things off by citing a massive lie that has been obvious for years and finally exploded for all the world to see this year. Greg focuses on an obvious Trump campaign policy statement that the left and its media allies immediately twisted into a sinister promise of mayhem if Trump lost. It was nothing of the sort.

Then it’s time for the best political theater of 2024, with Jim choosing an indelible campaign moment in the midst of shock and horror. Jim explains why that moment had such a profound impact on many Americans. While Greg wholeheartedly agrees with Jim’s selection, he points out one of the worst examples of the left not handling Election Night very well.

Finally, they cringe remembering the worst political theater of 2024. Jim singles out a key moment from the Democratic National Convention that served as a final insult to the outgoing president. Meanwhile, Greg finds his worst political theater in in a pair of New York courtrooms..

Please join us on Friday as Jim and Greg hand out their awards for Best Political Idea, Worst Political Idea, and Boldest Tactic for 2024.

2024 Martini Awards Part 2: Sorry to See You Go, Rising Star, Fading Into Oblivion

December 24, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “2024 Martini Awards Part 2: Sorry to See You Go, Rising Star, Fading Into Oblivion” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they offer the second installment of their highly coveted year-end awards. Today they remark on the people connected to politics that they’re most sorry to see pass away in 2024. They also share their choices for rising political stars and those who appear to be fading into political oblivion

They begin with those who left us over the past year. Jim chooses a former lawmaker who came within a whisker of holding one of the biggest jobs in the country, and most importantly, was a guest here on 3 Martini Lunch. Meanwhile, Greg highlights a conservative stalwart who served in the U.S. Senate for more than two decades.

Then it’s on to a much happier subject as they consider the rising political stars for 2024. They both choose an incoming Trump administration figure who promises to play a very important role as soon as Trump takes office. Greg also offers up an honorable mention for a cable news figure who has excelled at demolishing left-wing talking points while surrounded by Democrats.

Finally, there are a multitude of figures who they see fading into oblivion after this year. Jim looks at some of the most prominent names in the news while Greg eats crow on one of his picks from last year.

There will be a special 3 Martini Lunch on Christmas Day, as we bring you our September conversation with actor, director, and singer Robert Davi, best remembered by Jim and Greg as Special Agent Johnson in Die Hard.

Then join us on Thursday as we consider the categories of Biggest Lie, Best Political Theater, & Worst Political Theater for the past year.

Merry Christmas and thank you for listening to the 3 Martini Lunch!

2024 Martini Awards Part 1: Most Overrated, Underrated, Honest Political Figures

December 23, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “2024 Martini Awards Part 1: Most Overrated, Underrated, Honest Political Figures” on Spreaker.

Today, Jim and Greg begin handing out their prestigious annual 3 Martini Lunch Awards! Starting today and running through New Year’s Day, they reveal their choices in categories ranging from rising star to best and worst political ideas to the stories the media ignored and the ones they could not stop talking about. And it all builds up to next week when Jim and Greg reveal their Person of the Year and Turncoat of the Year, plus their predictions for 2025.

In this first installment, they offer their individual selections for Most Overrated Political Figure, Most Underrated Political Figure, and Most Honest Political Figure. Jim picks a prominent figure in this year’s presidential campaign, while Greg selects someone whose reputation for winning took one on the chin this year.

When it comes to underrated political figures, they agree on their top choice, but Greg also highlights a prominent political leader who doesn’t often attract a lot of headlines…and that’s a good thing. However, last week’s drama has Greg already regretting this choice.

Finally, Jim’s choice for the most honest political figure is a famous Democrat who was ignored by the party this year, while Greg picks a very different person the Democrats should have listened to but didn’t – to their own peril.

Don’t miss Tuesday’s special edition, when Jim and Greg list the political figures they were sorry to see pass away in 2024. They’ll also name their rising stars over the past year and people who seem to be fading into political oblivion.

Fetterman Rebukes Pelosi, Minnesota Election Crimes, Joe & Mika Try to Make Up with Trump

November 18, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Fetterman Rebukes Pelosi, Minnesota Election Crimes, Joe & Mika Try to Make Up with Trump” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg on 3 Martini Lunch as they break down Sen. John Fetterman’s criticism of Nancy Pelosi, charges against a Minnesota election judge for allowing illegal voting, and Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski trying to rekindle ties with Donald Trump after years of hostility.

First, Jim and Greg relish Sen. John Fetterman publicly blasting Nancy Pelosi for blaming Joe Biden over Kamala Harris’s loss and for overstaying her welcome in Congress. They highlight how rare and refreshing it is to see a Democrat criticize Pelosi so openly, especially given her long history of intimidating other Democrats into following her wishes.

Next, they condemn the actions of a Minnesota election judge facing felony charges for allowing 11 unregistered voters to cast ballots. Despite Minnesota’s same-day voter registration policy, the judge ignored the required process, demonstrating a blatant disregard for election laws and undermining voter integrity.

Finally, they laugh at the irony of Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski reopening communication with Donald Trump after years of their relentless demonization of him. They also discuss the left-wing backlash against Joe and Mika’s pivot and suggest Trump is likely reveling in their change of heart.

DOJ Dropping Trump Cases, Judge Reinstates 9/11 Plea Deal, Shove Out Sotomayor for Kamala?

November 11, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “DOJ Dropping Trump Cases, Judge Reinstates 9/11 Plea Deal, Shove Out Sotomayor for Kamala?” on Spreaker.

Former Chief Assistant U.S. Attorney and National Review Contributing Editor Andy McCarthy is in for Jim. Today, Andy and Greg break down the Justice Department’s decision to end its cases against President-Elect Trump, a military judge’s order to proceed with a controversial 9/11 plea deal, and progressive calls for dramatic moves to give Kamala Harris a new role in government..

First, Andy and Greg tackle the Justice Department’s choice to drop federal charges against Trump related to classified documents and January 6th. Andy notes that the DOJ could have paused the cases until Trump leaves office but suspects the charges were dismissed to shield upcoming plans from President Biden as he nears the end of his term.

Next, they react to a military judge ordering the plea agreement between the government and the 9/11 conspirators to proceed. The deal removes the possibility of them getting the death penalty. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin tried to rescind the deal after a major public backlash. Andy believes Khalid Sheik Mohammed and the others clearly deserve to be executed, but he also explains why the plea agreement is probably a smart legal move.

Finally, they sigh as Kamala Harris devotees publicly suggest outlandish ideas like replacing Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor with Harris or getting Biden to resign so Harris can be president for a couple of months. Andy explains why it should be up to Sotomayor when she ought to step down and Greg believes Biden has no desire whatsoever to take any drastic moves to benefit Harris.
