Mamdani’s Far Left Agenda for NYC, Truth Traps Tapper on Biden, Lorenz’s Nasty 9/11 Comments

May 30, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “Mamdani’s Far Left Agenda for NYC, Truth Traps Tapper on Biden, Lorenz’s Nasty 9/11 Comments” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for 3 Martini Lunch as they focus on three  crazy martinis to wrap up the week, as they tear into New York City mayoral hopeful Zohran Mamdani’s rent freeze scheme and his other far-left ideas, expose Jake Tapper’s ongoing excuses for his role in the Biden health cover up, and reproach Taylor Lorenz for her ugly remarks about 9/11.

First, Jim and Greg groan at the economic lunacy of Zohran Mamdani as he pledges to freeze rent across New York City if elected mayor. He’s also promising government-run grocery stores, “free” child care, and free bus rides — all paid for by hiking taxes on “the rich.”

Next, they harangue Jake Tapper for claiming he could not have done anything else to reveal the mental decline of Biden. Instead, Tapper blames it on the Biden family for pretending like nothing was wrong. Jim and Greg wonder how Tapper can act so innocent when the public has known for a long time about the incompetence of the former president.

Finally, they fume over the audacity of disturbed journalist Taylor Lorenz for suggesting 9/11 is treated as a joke by younger generations and people even have parties to mock it. Jim is baffled that after demonstrating her paranoia over masking and praising accused murderer Luigi Mangione, Lorenz believes she should be taken seriously. Her claims that 9/11 is a punchline is horrifying and further plummets her credibility as a journalist.

New Year’s Terrorism, The Shaky Federal Response, House Speaker Drama?

January 2, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “New Year’s Terrorism, The Shaky Federal Response, House Speaker Drama?” on Spreaker.

2025 is off to a very difficult start, as Jim and Greg assess two terrorist attacks on New Year’s Day, less-than-reassuring responses from federal officials, and possible GOP drama as the new Congress kicks off on Friday.

First, Jim and Greg document the horrific terrorist attack that occurred early Wednesday morning in New Orleans, where a driver deliberately plowed a rented truck through crowds on Bourbon Street and then opening fire on police officers and bystanders. The attacker was also found to have improvised explosive devices in his vehicle. Jim and Greg also examine the details of the Las Vegas car bombing and what we can glean from that.

Next, they express concern over the FBI’s initial, contradictory statements regarding whether the New Orleans attack is being investigated as an act of terrorism. They were also underwhelmed by how President Biden looked and sounded on Wednesday.

Finally, they look ahead to the start of the new Congress on Friday, focusing on the ongoing drama within the House GOP. They examine whether Republicans will unite behind Mike Johnson as Speaker of the House or whether internal divisions will create another intraparty struggle before the House can get to work. While acknowledging frustration over the previous government funding bill, Jim and Greg explain why there isn’t another viable option for Republicans in the Speaker race.

DOJ Dropping Trump Cases, Judge Reinstates 9/11 Plea Deal, Shove Out Sotomayor for Kamala?

November 11, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “DOJ Dropping Trump Cases, Judge Reinstates 9/11 Plea Deal, Shove Out Sotomayor for Kamala?” on Spreaker.

Former Chief Assistant U.S. Attorney and National Review Contributing Editor Andy McCarthy is in for Jim. Today, Andy and Greg break down the Justice Department’s decision to end its cases against President-Elect Trump, a military judge’s order to proceed with a controversial 9/11 plea deal, and progressive calls for dramatic moves to give Kamala Harris a new role in government..

First, Andy and Greg tackle the Justice Department’s choice to drop federal charges against Trump related to classified documents and January 6th. Andy notes that the DOJ could have paused the cases until Trump leaves office but suspects the charges were dismissed to shield upcoming plans from President Biden as he nears the end of his term.

Next, they react to a military judge ordering the plea agreement between the government and the 9/11 conspirators to proceed. The deal removes the possibility of them getting the death penalty. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin tried to rescind the deal after a major public backlash. Andy believes Khalid Sheik Mohammed and the others clearly deserve to be executed, but he also explains why the plea agreement is probably a smart legal move.

Finally, they sigh as Kamala Harris devotees publicly suggest outlandish ideas like replacing Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor with Harris or getting Biden to resign so Harris can be president for a couple of months. Andy explains why it should be up to Sotomayor when she ought to step down and Greg believes Biden has no desire whatsoever to take any drastic moves to benefit Harris.

Three Martinis with Michele Tafoya: Her Life in Sports, Politics in Sports, Trans Athletes, Gov. Walz

October 23, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Three Martinis with Michele Tafoya: Her Life in Sports, Politics in Sports, Trans Athletes, Gov. Walz” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they welcome longtime, Emmy-winning sports reporter Michele Tafoya. Best known for her work as a sideline reporter on Monday Night Football and Sunday Night Football, Tafoya is now a political commentator and host of the Michele Tafoya Podcast. In this episode, they dive into her most memorable sports moments, her views on the intersection of politics and sports, the controversy surrounding transgender athletes, her experience living in Minnesota under Gov. Tim Walz and more.

First, the conversation kicks off with Michele Tafoya’s rise in sports journalism. From her major career breakthroughs to the challenges of interviewing uncooperative coaches and players, Tafoya shares insights from her time as a sports reporter. She recounts some of her favorite on-field moments, the sports personalities who were easy and tough to work with, and a hilarious story from an NCAA tournament game she was covering in the 1990s.

Next, they focus on politics, including how Tafoya evolved from a left-leaning graduate of Cal Berkeley to a conservative. She also touches on the impact of politics getting injected into sports coverage and how some members of the sports media see themselves as political and cultural activists.

Finally, Tafoya speaks out against the participation of biological men in women’s sports. She shares her thoughts on how this is fundamentally unfair and is affecting female athletes and the integrity of women’s sports. In addition, Tafoya opens up about living under the leadership of Gov. Tim Walz in Minnesota and her perspective on the political expectation that she should support Kamala Harris simply because she is a woman.

Heads Roll at Hezbollah, Biden’s Border Brings Brutal Criminals, RFK Jr.’s Ballot Wars

September 30, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Heads Roll at Hezbollah, Biden’s Border Brings Brutal Criminals, RFK Jr.’s Ballot Wars” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they dive into Israel’s swift elimination of Hezbollah’s leadership, the alarming number of convicted criminals allowed into the U.S., and the calculated ballot strategies of both RFK Jr. and left-leaning judges.

First, they celebrate Israel’s rapid dismantling of Hezbollah’s command, including the killing of Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, infamous for his role in the 1983 U.S. Marine barracks bombing in Beirut, among many other atrocities. Israel also swiftly eliminated his successor within hours, showcasing a master class in intelligence work and military precision.

Next, they blast the Biden administration after new ICE data reveals that more than 662,000 people processed into the U.S. are either convicted criminals or have criminal charges pending against them. This includes more than 13,000 convicted murderers, nearly 16,000 convicted sexual offenders, and a total of 422,000 convicted criminals now residing in the country and more than 220,000 others possibly guilty as well.

Finally, they follow the obvious political strategy of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and left-leaning judges over Kennedy’s ballot access in several states. As Kennedy tries to stay on the ballot in deep blue states and get off the ballot in battleground states, left-leaning judges are ruling exactly the opposite. So much for the sacred preservation of democracy.

Kirby Disrespects Veterans, Blaming the GOP for California’s Woes, No Single-Family Homes?

September 12, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Kirby Disrespects Veterans, Blaming the GOP for California’s Woes, No Single-Family Homes?” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for a quick and fun discussion of getting spam emails from the DNC. Then they tackle National Security Council spokesman John Kirby disrespecting veterans critical of Biden, an LA Times columnist blaming Republicans for California’s litany of problems, and politicians in Maryland considering an end to single-family homes.

After some quick jokes about the odd, unsolicited DNC emails that Greg keeps getting, they dig into Admiral Kirby hitting “reply all” on a request for a statement from veterans mad about Biden’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan and announcing their concerns weren’t even worth a response. “Obviously no use in responding. A ‘handful’ of vets indeed and all of one stripe,” is what Kirby said. Jim says Kirby needs to remember that he works for the people and not the Democratic Party.

Next, they roll their eyes at an opinion column in the Los Angeles Times that admits California is a mess. And even though no Republican has held statewide office since early 2011, columnist Steve Lopez says it’s still the GOP’s fault because of things Republicans did more than 50 years ago and that the Democrats’ many failures under one-party control in recent years are also the Republicans’ fault. Really! Jim has little patience for this revisionism and says Democrats have been able to do whatever they want in California. And what they want leads to disaster.

Finally, they turn their attention to the DC suburbs in Maryland. For years, people on the right have been branded as conspiracy theorists for saying the left wants to put an end to single-family homes and crowd more people into those spaces in order to collect more in property taxes. In Montgomery County, Maryland, the county council is now…surprise…considering legislation to put an end to single-family homes – under the false pretense of creating more affordable housing.

The Debate: Kamala’s Lying & Baiting, Trump’s Distracted Rambling, Moderators’ Bias

September 11, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “The Debate: Kamala’s Lying & Baiting, Trump’s Distracted Rambling, Moderators’ Bias” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they dissect Tuesday night’s presidential debate and how everyone on that stage was underwhelming in their performances – from Kamala Harris dodging or lying on the hard questions to Donald Trump missing opportunities and getting easily distracted to the moderators playing favorites. They also update yesterday’s Taylor Swift story and reflect on 23 years since the horrific 9/11 terrorist attacks.

First, they break down Kamala’s performance, particularly how she refused to answer challenging questions about the Biden-Harris record on the economy, the border, and her many sudden policy changes. They also note specific areas where she tried to sneak to the right of Trump and her clear strategy of baiting Trump away from discussing the issues most damaging to her.

Next, they explain how Trump kept falling for the rabbit trails offered by Harris, his failure to highlight some of the most devastating aspects of the Biden-Harris record, misstating other attempts to land punches, and how he looked generally unprepared for the event. They also highlight a few of his zingers against Harris and Biden, but even those turned out to be missed opportunities.

Then, they evaluate ABC News moderators David Muir and Lindsey Davis for their one-sided, questionable fact-checking and for offering some real softball questions to Harris.

Finally, Jim and Greg share their thoughts as the nation solemnly marks the 23rd anniversary of the 9/11 Al Qaeda terrorist attacks against New York City, the Pentagon, and Flight 93 in Pennsylvania.

How Haniyeh Was Killed, Russia Prisoner Swap, 9/11 Plea Deal, Trump Fumbles on Race

August 1, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “How Haniyeh Was Killed, Russia Prisoner Swap, 9/11 Plea Deal, Trump Fumbles on Race” on Spreaker.

It’s four martinis for the price of three today as Jim and Greg unpack the latest details in the killing of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh, the prisoner swap with Russia that freed two Americans, the government striking a plea bargain with 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, and Donald Trump focusing on Kamala’s race instead of her train wreck of a record.

First, they enjoy learning how Haniyeh was killed by a bomb planted months earlier and detonated remotely. It seems to point more clearly to an Israeli operation and a massive, embarrassing failure for the Iranian government and especially its terrorist arm, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.

Next, they’re thrilled to hear Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich and fellow American Paul Whelan are being released by Russia. What reports don’t tell us yet is who or what the U.S. is giving Russia in return. And given the Obama-Biden track record on lopsided prisoner swaps, that’s an important question.

Then, they groan as the U.S. government strikes a plea deal with Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and two other 9/11 conspirators. The agreement removes the possibility of capital punishment for any of them. 9/11 survivors and family members are not happy. And while Jim and Greg understand there’s a slight possibility of these terrorists revealing more than they already have, it’s hard to imagine anyone more deserving of death then they are.

Finally, Jim unloads on Donald Trump for wondering when Kamala Harris decided she was black because he says she spent much of her life identifying with her Indian heritage. Not only does that moment give Harris a chance to go on offense, but it shows Trump getting distracted from going after the endless political liabilities Harris brings into this campaign.

Trump’s Two Speeches, Biden Exit or Dem Wishcasting? Dems Doubt Trump Shooting

July 19, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Trump’s Two Speeches, Biden Exit or Dem Wishcasting? Dems Doubt Trump Shooting” on Spreaker.

Today, Jim and Greg discuss the two speeches within Donald Trump’s RNC address, reports that President Joe Biden plans to continue with his campaign while other Democrats plant stories that he is quitting, and the shocking number of Democrats buying into conspiracy theories about the attempted assassination of Trump.

First, they analyze the very different of Trump’s speech last night. They agree that the beginning of the speech, discussing the assassination attempt and honoring Corey Comperatore, was the strongest part. They also suggest that the rally-style improvisation made the speech too long. And while it probably didn’t cost him any votes, a tighter speech may have appealed to more people. They agree that it seemed to be a successful convention and that every Gen X kid loved Hulk Hogan’s appearance.

Next, they compare conflicting reports about the likelihood that Biden will discontinue his re-election campaign, with sources close to the president reporting that they are “furious” about the pressure campaign that has been launched against him. Jim thinks that the liberal media is essentially dreamcasting, and that Biden will not step down if those closest to him want him to stay in office.

Finally, they raise their eyebrows at the startling one-third of Democrats who believe that the attempted assassination of Trump was a hoax. Jim observes that you have to have an animal hatred of Trump for your first instinct at the shooting to be contemptuous disbelief.

The Attempted Assassination of Donald Trump

July 15, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “The Attempted Assassination of Donald Trump” on Spreaker.

Today, Jim and Greg do wall-to-wall coverage of Saturday’s attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump. They discuss the miracle of Trump’s survival, the suspicious details coming out about how the Secret Servicefailed to stop the shooter before he fired, and a mainstream media that will always find a way to attack Trump, even as he recovers from an attempt on his life.

First, they take a few moments to express gratitude for Trump’s survival. Jim points out that mere microseconds made the difference between what could have been one of the darkest moments in our nation’s history, and the survival of our former president.

Next, they point to the very obvious need to beef up the quality of the Secret Service, which failed to secure an obvious security concern with a clear line of sight to Trump. Officers also did not respond to the threat of the gunman climbing onto the roof until he began firing. Jim recalls many instances of lax, unprofessional behavior on the part of the Secret Service in the past, and hopes that this near-disaster will lead to a serious investigation of the agency.

Finally, they facepalm at how the media handled coverage of the shooting, starting with their hesitancy to call the shooting a shooting even though video footage made that clear. They also slam prominent reporters for criticizing Trump’s initial reaction to being shot and his perfectly normal statement a short time later. And Jim and Greg discuss Morning Joe being pre-empted this morning, reportedly because NBC wanted to avoid any of the guests making an inappropriate comment.
