Egg Prices Dropping, Trump Keeps Stefanik in Congress, UK Pursues Ninja Sword Ban

March 28, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “Egg Prices Dropping, Trump Keeps Stefanik in Congress, UK Pursues Ninja Sword Ban” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for 3 Martini Lunch as they break down the plunging price of eggs, Trump withdrawing New York Rep. Elise Stefanik’s nomination for U.N. ambassador to keep her in Congress, and the UK’s absurd upcoming ban on ninja swords.

First, they cheer the sharp drop in egg prices, with the average cost of a dozen falling from $8.17 to $2.92 in under a month. They highlight the role of administration policies and the return of egg-laying birds after millions were culled to curb bird flu.

Next, they dissect Trump’s decision to pull Rep. Stefanik’s U.N. nomination—not due to her qualifications but because he needs every Republican vote in Congress. They also suggest it signals concerns over the GOP’s ability to win a special election in Florida next week and hold Stefanik’s seat in New York.

Finally, they shake their heads as UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer pushes a ban on ninja swords in response to rising knife and sword attacks. Unsurprisingly, these attacks increased greatly after the UK enacted strict gun control. Jim and Greg argue that British leftists, like their counterparts in the U.S. and elsewhere, ignore the reality that violent crime stems from the attacker’s evil intentions, not the weapons.

Major MS-13 Arrest, Gov. Youngkin’s Veto Binge, GOP Rep Exposes Radical NPR Boss

March 27, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “Major MS-13 Arrest, Gov. Youngkin’s Veto Binge, GOP Rep Exposes Radical NPR Boss” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for 3 Martini Lunch as they celebrate a major MS-13 gang leader’s arrest, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s veto spree against a lot of lousy bills passed by Democrats, and a Texas congressman exposing NPR CEO Katherine Maher’s radical views using her own words.

First, they break down the FBI’s arrest of the top MS-13 leader on the East Coast during an early morning raid in Virginia and carried out with federal, state, and local cooperation. Jim and Greg applaud the move, hoping more gang members are soon locked up or deported. And they are encouraged to see the Justice Department and FBI making this a priority.

Then they stay in Virginia, where Gov. Youngkin recently vetoed nearly 160 bills from the Democrat-controlled legislature. The rejected measures covered gun control, a minimum wage hike, restricted speech outside abortion clinics, and a sweeping “environmental justice” agenda, among others. With a governor’s race looming, Jim warns that Democrats will push these policies into law if they perform well in November.

Finally, they enjoy Texas Rep. Brandon Gill’s grilling of NPR CEO Katherine Maher. Gill methodically exposes Maher’s extreme views on reparations, looting, and other issues—simply by quoting her own past statements.

RFK Jr.’s Pro-Life Promises, Biden’s Border Sabotage, Shocking CEO Murder Polls

December 18, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “RFK Jr.’s Pro-Life Promises, Biden’s Border Sabotage, Shocking CEO Murder Polls” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg on the 3 Martini Lunch, as they discuss Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s surprising pro-life promises to lawmakers, the unconscionable auction of border wall materials in the final days of the Biden administration, and the shocking polling on Americans’ views regarding the murder of a health insurance CEO.

First, they delve into the reports from Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley that Health and Human Services nominee Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is promising strong pro-life policies if he is confirmed. This  includes support for Trump-era policies like ending taxpayer-funded abortions and restoring conscience protections for healthcare workers. Will pro-life voters be satisfied?

Next, they discuss the Biden administration’s decision to auction off materials for the border wall in Arizona, preventing the Trump administration from utilizing them to secure the border. The move could delay construction and raise costs significantly compared to when Trump was in office before. Finally, they analyze disturbing new polling results showing that young Americans narrowly approve of the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. They explore what these numbers say about public perception of the health care sector and how young adults can excuse such a heinous crime.

Trump Targeted for Assassination…Again

September 16, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Trump Targeted for Assassination…Again” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they dissect an assassination attempt against Donald Trump for the second time this summer. Today, they walk through the disturbing details of what happened in Florida on Sunday, the callous reaction in the media and beyond, and some of the bright spots that we can also see.

First, they walk through a lot of the facts in this case as laid out by law enforcement. There seems to have been a much more competent response than there was in Pennsylvania. But some frustrating questions still linger based on what what we know so far.

Next, they highlight media figures like NBC’s Lester Holt and MSNBC’s Alex Witt appearing to blame Trump’s rhetoric for the latest attempt against his life and suggesting it’s Trump who needs to tone down his statements.

Finally, they’re thankful for a very observant U.S. Secret Service agent whose vigilance stopped the threat to Trump’s life before it could materialize. They’re also grateful to learn Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis plans to have state authorities investigate what happened.

Single-Family Fiction, Trump Rejects Future Debate, ‘Appalling’ Secret Service Review

September 13, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Single-Family Fiction, Trump Rejects Future Debate, ‘Appalling’ Secret Service Review” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they close the week with an important correction from Thursday’s edition,  strong thoughts on Trump’s rejection of another debate and the questionable characters in his inner circle, and startling indications that the performance of the Secret Service on the day of the Trump assassination attempt was even worse than we thought.

First, they apologize for basing their Thursday story about a Maryland county considering major zoning changes that allegedly threatened existing and future single-family homes on an erroneous story from a local ABC news station. They explain what the proposed changes would actually do and why that news source is unlikely to get the benefit of the doubt again.

Next, they explain why they think Trump was wrong to reject another debate with Kamala Harris, pointing out that even with somewhat biased moderators, a debate is still the best chance to make gettable voters aware of Kamala’s radical positions and failed tenure as vice president. They also chide Trump for allowing a figure like Laura Loomer into his inner circle – which is almost guaranteed to make things worse.

Finally, they’re stunned to see staunch lefty Connecticut Sen. Dick Blumenthal predict the American people will be “appalled” by the egregious failings of the U.S. Secret Service in connection to the attempted assassination of Trump on July 13. And Blumenthal also blasted the Department of Homeland Security for its lack of cooperation in the investigation.

The Debate: Kamala’s Lying & Baiting, Trump’s Distracted Rambling, Moderators’ Bias

September 11, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “The Debate: Kamala’s Lying & Baiting, Trump’s Distracted Rambling, Moderators’ Bias” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they dissect Tuesday night’s presidential debate and how everyone on that stage was underwhelming in their performances – from Kamala Harris dodging or lying on the hard questions to Donald Trump missing opportunities and getting easily distracted to the moderators playing favorites. They also update yesterday’s Taylor Swift story and reflect on 23 years since the horrific 9/11 terrorist attacks.

First, they break down Kamala’s performance, particularly how she refused to answer challenging questions about the Biden-Harris record on the economy, the border, and her many sudden policy changes. They also note specific areas where she tried to sneak to the right of Trump and her clear strategy of baiting Trump away from discussing the issues most damaging to her.

Next, they explain how Trump kept falling for the rabbit trails offered by Harris, his failure to highlight some of the most devastating aspects of the Biden-Harris record, misstating other attempts to land punches, and how he looked generally unprepared for the event. They also highlight a few of his zingers against Harris and Biden, but even those turned out to be missed opportunities.

Then, they evaluate ABC News moderators David Muir and Lindsey Davis for their one-sided, questionable fact-checking and for offering some real softball questions to Harris.

Finally, Jim and Greg share their thoughts as the nation solemnly marks the 23rd anniversary of the 9/11 Al Qaeda terrorist attacks against New York City, the Pentagon, and Flight 93 in Pennsylvania.

Hunter Biden Pleads Guilty, Charging School Shooters’ Parents, GOP Senate Outlook

September 6, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Hunter Biden Pleads Guilty, Charging School Shooters’ Parents, GOP Senate Outlook” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for three complicated martinis to close out the week. They discuss Hunter Biden deciding to plead guilty to federal tax charges, whether parents of school shooters ought to face criminal charges, and the forecast for this years U.S. Senate elections.
First, they focus on Hunter Biden abandoning his plan to go to trial and a subsequent plan to plead guilty without admitting guilt on federal tax charges. Now that he’s simply pleading guilty, what does that mean for sentencing, the chances his father pardons him and more? Jim says it’s all further proof of one thing – that the critics of Hunter Biden were right and Joe Biden and a lot of other Democrats and media apologists were wrong or flat out lying.
Second, they examine this week’s horrific, deadly school shooting at a Georgia high school and mull over whether officials are right to charge the shooter’s father with two counts of second degree murder and four counts of involuntary manslaughter for failing to keep guns away from his 14-year-old son who had already been evaluated as a possible threat. Are charges like this a good way to keep parents more vigilant and accountable for their kids’ actions and for their own actions or does criminal blame belong solely with the killer?
Finally, they examine the U.S. Senate map this year. And while odds look favorable for Republicans to reclaim a slim majority, there are several other seats held by Democrats which should be vulnerable. But so far the GOP challengers are consistently trailing.

DNC Walz vs. The Real Walz, The Dems’ Freedom Fiction, What Bad Jobs Report?

August 22, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “DNC Walz vs. The Real Walz, The Dems’ Freedom Fiction, What Bad Jobs Report?” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they discuss the third night of the Democratic National Convention and more. They comment on Bill Clinton’s decline, the fictional Tim Walz highlighted at the DNC vs. the one with a real & disturbing record as governor, the Dems projecting the fantasy that they are the party of freedom, and Biden’s commerce secretary giving a bizarre reaction to a lousy jobs report.

First, after commenting on Clinton’s speech that was underwhelming and way too long, they dissect the “strikingly shameless” portrayal of Tim Walz as an everyman and good neighbor instead of the far left politician who coddled rioters, threatened anyone reluctant to take a Covid vaccine, added a Covid snitch line, and has had a cozy relationship with China for decades.

Next, they shake their heads as Democrat after Democrat pretended that they are the party of freedom and that Republicans are the party of federal intrusion into our lives. And yet, there’s only a couple of “freedoms” that they really care about and got repeated over and over Wednesday night.

Finally, they laugh as Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo accuses Donald Trump of issuing the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) report showing the government overestimated the number of jobs created over the past year by 818,000. When confronted with the truth, Raimondo claimed she was not aware of the report.

Walz’s Military Service, Walz vs. Free Speech, Judge Rules Google a ‘Monopolist’

August 8, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Walz’s Military Service, Walz vs. Free Speech, Judge Rules Google a ‘Monopolist'” on Spreaker.

Inez Stepman of the Independent Women’s Forum and host of the “High Noon” podcast is in for Jim. Today, Inez and Greg discuss the controversy over Gov. Tim Walz’s military service, his problem with free speech, and a federal judge ruling that Google is a “monopolist.”

First, they dig into the back-and-forth between Gov. Walz and Sen. JD Vance over Vance’s life story, whether Walz retired from the Army National Guard to avoid going to Iraq, and Walz’s documented comments about “weapons of war that I carried in war.” Will this be a lingering issue in the campaign? Inez says this alone might not be a huge problem long term for Harris-Walz but additional stories that raise doubts about his veracity might be a different story.

They also highlight a comment Walz made years ago saying, “There’s no guarantee to free speech on misinformation and hate speech, and especially around our democracy.” Inez points out there is no constitutional basis for that position. And while the goal of free speech is to seek and find the truth, she says the Bill of Rights protects speech that is factually incorrect.

Finally, they highlight this week’s federal court ruling siding with the Justice Department’s argument  that Google is a “monopolist” in terms of how it forces its products on others. And while Inez and Greg are always wary of the government injecting itself into the market, they also see a clear ideological monopoly showing up in Google search results.

Cheatle Resigns, Kamala Uncontested, Dems Ghost Netanyahu

July 23, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Cheatle Resigns, Kamala Uncontested, Dems Ghost Netanyahu” on Spreaker.

Today, Jim and Greg discuss Kim Cheatle’s resignation as director of U.S. Secret Service, the swift ascendance of Kamala Harris as the Democrats’ nominee, and Biden & Harris can’t be bothered to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on his visit to the U.S.
First, they toast a good martini to Cheatle’s resignation after a disastrous performance before the House Oversight and Accountability Committee. Jim sees some clear parallels between her resignation and President Biden stepping down from his campaign.
Next, they observe how Vice President Harris successfully cleared the field to be the next presidential nominee, securing the endorsement of top Democrats and a majority of DNC delegates. Greg points out the irony in how quickly the party of “defending democracy” was to shut down any chance of a robust primary.
Finally, they talk about Prime Minister Netanyahu’s visit to the United State and how neither Biden nor Harris seem to have any time for him. Jim points out the impropriety of this and says it only adds to questions about who is running the country right now.
