Mortgage Rate Agony, Becerra Targets the Constitution, Tlaib’s Vile Gaslighting

October 19, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Mortgage Rate Agony, Becerra Targets the Constitution, Tlaib’s Vile Gaslighting” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they serve up three lousy martinis. First, they shudder as 30-year mortgage interest rates hit eight percent, meaning monthly payments on a $400,000 home are now $1,000 more expensive per month than they were just two years ago. They also hammer Health and Human Services Sec. Xavier Becerra for pushing for a “universal system of public health” even though he admits the Constitution doesn’t allow it. He thinks it’s bad that different states could set different policies during the COVID pandemic and he wants more power over your life to address climate change. Then, they slam Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib for repeating the debunked Hamas propaganda about Israel bombing a hospital in Gaza. Finally, on a more positive note, they observe an important milestone and make an announcement about the next couple of weeks.

Dallas Mayor Joins GOP, Partisan Divide on Free Speech, Canada Honors a Nazi

September 25, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Dallas Mayor Joins GOP, Partisan Divide on Free Speech, Canada Honors a Nazi” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they cheer Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson switching to the Republican Party, saying the GOP has a much better approach on crime and fiscal discipline. And Jim wonders whether Johnson has larger political ambitions. They also recoil at a Real Clear Politics survey showing a sharp divide between the parties on free speech, with Democrats far more likely to favor government or social media companies cracking down on “hate speech” or speech that possibly threatens national security. Finally, they cringe as Canada’s House of Commons lavishes praise on a 98-year-old Canadian from Ukraine for fighting against Russia during World War II. They just didn’t bother to check which side he was fighting for.

Dem AG vs. Dem Governor, House Impeachment Inquiry, Wall Street & China

September 13, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Dem AG vs. Dem Governor, House Impeachment Inquiry, Wall Street & China” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they welcome the news that New Mexico Attorney General Raul Torrez, a Democrat, is refusing to defend Gov. Michelle Lujan-Grisham’s unconstitutional “health emergency” that forbids carrying guns in public for 30 days. They also react to House Speaker Kevin McCarthy calling for the launch of a formal impeachment inquiry against President Biden. They explain how the effort is warranted given the growing evidence but Jim argues that the current investigations would likely be more impactful than a formal inquiry. And they dive into what this decision and timing say about McCarthy and his grip on power. Finally, they applaud the House Select Committee on the CCP for taking Wall Street entities to task for investing in Chinese firms that present a direct threat to U.S. national security and human rights. The committee is working in strong bipartisan fashion, but will anything concrete and enforceable come out of all this work?

You Ask, We Answer Part 1

July 3, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “You Ask, We Answer Part 1” on Spreaker.

Some of our favorite episodes are the ones where you ask Jim and Greg questions and they offer their takes on politics, sports, pop culture or whatever else is on your mind.
Today, they analyze why people with no chance of being elected president decide to run for the office anyway and respond to a listener who wants the people to have a say on who Jim and Greg label as the poster child for generic Republicans.
They also take on a question about how to tame the administrative state and stop unelected government bureaucrats from making rules and de facto laws. Would it help to adopt a constitutional amendment explaining that power rests only in Congress?
And of course there’s a question about “Die Hard.” Specifically, should this epic film ever be rebooted, and if so, who should direct it and star in it?

Smoke in the Skies, Newsom’s Amendment, Pence in for 2024

June 8, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Smoke in the Skies, Newsom’s Amendment, Pence in for 2024” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for second helping of crazy martinis. They first chide the media’s coverage of the Canadian wildfires, as the smoke makes its way down the Mid-Atlantic United States. They then react to California Gov. Gavin Newsom pushing for a new gun control amendment to the Constitution, but Jim sees an important silver lining. Finally, they discuss Mike Pence’s bid for the Republican presidential nomination, and his potential impact on the campaign.

Exposing FBI Bias, Fetterman Health Falsehoods, Left Attacks Free Speech Again

February 10, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Exposing FBI Bias, Fetterman Health Falsehoods, Left Attacks Free Speech Again” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they applaud the congressional testimony of former FBI Special Agent Nicole Parker about how the politics of the FBI’s leadership are affecting the work and the credibility of the bureau. But will shining the spotlight on this result in any meaningful changes? They also fume as new reporting on Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman’s stroke and very difficult recovery prove that the campaign and Fetterman’s doctor flat-out lied to the people of Pennsylvania and that Fetterman’s inability to process what he hears is making it very difficult for him to do his job. Finally, they unload on the State Department for spending U.S. tax dollars through outside groups to muzzle conservative reporting through the Orwellian-sounding Global Disinformation Index.

DeSantis Right on Crime, Western Water Woes, Flunking Constitution 101

January 27, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “DeSantis Right on Crime, Western Water Woes, Flunking Constitution 101” on Spreaker.

After having fun with the Associated Press war on “the,” Jim & Greg applaud Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for a 50-year low on crime and aggressive proposals to crack down on child predators and and fentanyl pushers. Jim also walks us through the major water dilemma facing western states and why government intervention is not inspiring a lot of confidence. And they shake their heads as a Biden judicial nominee can’t explain the subject of Article V or Article II of the Constitution.

Twitter & The Laptop, Trump’s Unhinged Response, Dem Double Standard

December 5, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “Twitter & The Laptop, Trump’s Unhinged Response, Dem Double Standard” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they break down the very significant revelations about how Twitter suppressed the New York Post story about Hunter Biden’s laptop in October 2020. They also unload on President Trump for demanding to be installed immediately as president or for a new election through “the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution.”  And they rip on the Democrats too as incoming House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries repeatedly called into question the legitimacy of Trump’s election in 2016.

Truss Takes Over in the UK, Chile Chooses Freedom, Russia Restricts Energy

September 6, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “Truss Takes Over in the UK, Chile Chooses Freedom, Russia Restricts Energy” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they discuss major news from three different spots around the globe. First, they are cautiously optimistic as new British Prime Minister Liz Truss promises to govern as a conservative and that means cutting taxes to grow the economy. They also cheer the people of Chile for overwhelmingly rejecting a new far left constitution that looks an awful like the goals of Democrats in the U.S. And they brace for a very rough winter in Europe as Russia says it will restrict energy exports until “the collective west” backs off its sanctions towards Moscow.

2nd Amendment Win, Dems’ Chilling Google Demand, FDA Bans Juul

June 23, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “2nd Amendment Win, Dems’ Chilling Google Demand, FDA Bans Juul” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they cheer the Supreme Court decision confirming that gun owners do not need to “show cause” to get a concealed carry permit. They also criticize four Senate Democrats for demanding Google not include any information on pregnancy resource centers when people search for abortion services. And they wonder why the Biden administration is banning Juul vaping products.
