Dallas Mayor Joins GOP, Partisan Divide on Free Speech, Canada Honors a Nazi

September 25, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Dallas Mayor Joins GOP, Partisan Divide on Free Speech, Canada Honors a Nazi” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they cheer Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson switching to the Republican Party, saying the GOP has a much better approach on crime and fiscal discipline. And Jim wonders whether Johnson has larger political ambitions. They also recoil at a Real Clear Politics survey showing a sharp divide between the parties on free speech, with Democrats far more likely to favor government or social media companies cracking down on “hate speech” or speech that possibly threatens national security. Finally, they cringe as Canada’s House of Commons lavishes praise on a 98-year-old Canadian from Ukraine for fighting against Russia during World War II. They just didn’t bother to check which side he was fighting for.

Michigan Senate Hopes, Mask Wars Returning? Genetically-Modified People?

September 6, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Michigan Senate Hopes, Mask Wars Returning? Genetically-Modified People?” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they welcome former Michigan Rep. Mike Rogers to the Senate race to replace Sen. Debbie Stabenow. But they also note why this race is an uphill climb for any Republican. They also groan as the talk of COVID cases and restrictions ramps up again – including mask mandates at elementary schools. Finally, they slam and laugh at a leading bioethicist from New York University calling for genetically modifying people to be intolerant to meat as a means of supposedly combatting climate change.

Judge Foils Hunter-DOJ Scheme, Mitch’s Scary Moment, DeSantis & RFK Jr.

July 27, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Judge Foils Hunter-DOJ Scheme, Mitch’s Scary Moment, DeSantis & RFK Jr.” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they applaud Judge Maryellen Noreika for exposing the apparent agreement between the Justice Department and Hunter Biden that would have given Biden immunity on further prosecution related to his tax issues and business dealings. They also chronicle Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell being unable to speak on Capitol Hill Wednesday and are frustrated that his office won’t say anything beyond McConnell’s own insistence that he’s “fine.” Finally, Jim chides Gov. DeSantis for trying to win over RFK Jr. supporters and likely alienating people who would actually be inclined to vote for him.
Timestamps:
1:18 – The scuttled plea deal between the Justice Department and Hunter Biden stinks. Judge Noreika was right to question it.
8:12 – Sen. McConnell’s health scare and his office refusing to elaborate on what happened.
15:36 – Gov. DeSantis suggests he might “sic” RFK Jr. on the FDA or CDC if he’s president.

Reality Bites Green Agenda, Cardin Calling it Quits, Vaccine Mandates Silently Ending

May 2, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Reality Bites Green Agenda, Cardin Calling it Quits, Vaccine Mandates Silently Ending” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they serve up three good martinis, but you may need to squint a bit to see them. First, they welcome the admission from the green energy industry that it is thoroughly dependent upon cheap Chinese products to make solar panels and that renewed tariffs on China would hurt the industry badly. So reality smacks the green agenda in the face yet again. They also cheer the impending retirement of Maryland Democratic Sen. Ben Cardin after more than half a century of taxpayers footing his salary. A feeding frenzy among Democrats is already underway. Republicans are big underdogs but an open seat improves their odds. Jim wonders of Larry Hogan will reconsider after saying he had no interest in the race earlier this year. Finally, they welcome next week’s end to vaccine mandates for federal employees and foreign visitors, and Jim suspects that by letting mandates die quietly, the Biden administration is silently admitting they were a terrible idea.

McCarthy Stands with Taiwan, Lemon’s Bad Behavior, RFK Jr. 2024

April 6, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “McCarthy Stands with Taiwan, Lemon’s Bad Behavior, RFK Jr. 2024” on Spreaker.

Ricochet Editor-in-Chief Jon Gabriel is in for Jim. Join Jon and Greg as they cheer House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and a bipartisan congressional delegation for meeting with Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen in defiance of Chinese demands and touting the importance of a free Taiwan. They also react to new allegations that CNN’s Don Lemon harassed former co-anchor Kyra Phillips back in 2008, including ripping up her photos and papers when she got an assignment that he wanted and for texting threatening messages to her. Finally, they roll their eyes as Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. throws his hat into the ring for the 2024 Democratic presidential nomination.

Lab Leak Momentum, Social Media Mayhem, Lower LAPD Standards?

February 27, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Lab Leak Momentum, Social Media Mayhem, Lower LAPD Standards?” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they react to the Department of Energy warming to the idea that the COVID pandemic originated with a lab leak in China. They also welcome the bipartisan concern over the devastating impact that social media is having on teenagers, including significant increases in suicidal thoughts – particularly among girls. Finally, they cringe as new Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass wants to lower standards for police recruits in order to increase the diversity of the LAPD.

Natural Immunity Vindicated, Equity vs. Honors Classes, GOP Losers Running Again?

February 17, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Natural Immunity Vindicated, Equity vs. Honors Classes, GOP Losers Running Again?” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg offer a quick update on yesterday’s Don Lemon saga before serving up their three martinis for the day. First, they welcome new studies from the Lancet and beyond showing people who developed natural immunity from a bout with COVID did just as well as the vaccinated against future cases and that natural immunity was stronger against reinfection than the jab. Those who demanded getting shots to keep your job or just be part of society will sure to file this news in the memory hole as quickly as possible. They also unload at the California school district that decided to end high school honors classes in English because they were not diverse enough. Jim explains why those school officials took exactly the wrong course of action. Finally, react to several flawed and failed GOP House and Senate candidates from last year gearing up to run again.

New Zealand Lockdown Queen Quits, 30 Percent Sales Tax? Gore’s Climate Rant

January 19, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “New Zealand Lockdown Queen Quits, 30 Percent Sales Tax? Gore’s Climate Rant” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they cheer the impending resignation of New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, whose years in power were most notably marked by draconian COVID policies and unilaterally outlawing the right to own many different weapons. They also shake their heads as some House Republicans propose a national 30 percent sales tax to replace all other federal taxes. They appreciate the effort to simplify the code and hope discussions continue but fear this plan will only be used by Democrats to hammer Republicans. Finally, they respond to former Vice President Al Gore bellowing about boiling oceans and a billion climate refugees.

Trump’s Head Fake, Biden’s Border Madness, COVID & Car Insurance

December 15, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “Trump’s Head Fake, Biden’s Border Madness, COVID & Car Insurance” on Spreaker.

Ricochet.com Editor-in-Chief Jon Gabriel is in for Jim. Today, Jon and Greg shake their heads as President Trump’s big announcement turns into a promotion for digital trading cards of himself. They also cringe as the Biden administration prepares to make the border crisis far worse by lifting Title 42 and ending the “Remain in Mexico” policy. Finally, they roll their eyes at research suggesting people who didn’t get the COVID shot are more dangerous drivers – meaning vaccination status could impact your insurance rates.

Widespread China Protests, Iran’s Blinding Crackdown, Trump’s Unappetizing Guests

November 28, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “Widespread China Protests, Iran’s Blinding Crackdown, Trump’s Unappetizing Guests” on Spreaker.

After a brief discussion of the Jets decisive victory over the Bears, Jim and Greg cheer on the brave protesters in China who are fed up with the CCP’s suffocating COVID policies and demanding other freedoms in the face of a repressive regime. They also wince as an Iranian paramilitary group violently confronts protesters and even blinds many of them. And they react to Trump’s dinner with Kanye West last week that also included Milo Yiannopoulos and Nick Fuentes – a trio that Jim refers to as “the Mount Rushmore of lunatics.”
