DeSantis vs. Apple, Biden’s Haiti Problem, Will McCarthy Have the Votes?

November 30, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “DeSantis vs. Apple, Biden’s Haiti Problem, Will McCarthy Have the Votes?” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they cheer Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for blasting Apple’s nauseating practices of silencing American voices it disagrees with and groveling before the Chinese government by making it harder for protesters there to get their messages out. They also groan as the crisis in Haiti is on the brink of collapse and the Biden administration fails to get other nations to take the lead on the response. And they discuss whether Kevin McCarthy will have the 218 votes needed to become speaker after at least two GOP members say they won’t back him on the House floor come January.

Dems Clearing for Biden? Weak Western Leadership, RNC Leadership Fight

November 29, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “Dems Clearing for Biden? Weak Western Leadership, RNC Leadership Fight” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they dissect the reversal of the Biden retirement narrative and now Democrats seem to be unifying behind an unpopular president in decline. It might be the GOP’s best chance to win, but it’s no guarantee. They also shake their heads as the Biden administration offers no response to the protests in China and Canada’s Justin Trudeau finds protests designed to change public policy to be “worrisome.” And they wade into the battle to lead the Republican National Committee, assessing the candidacies of current chairman Ronna McDaniel, New York Rep. Lee Zeldin, and My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell. And they bid farewell to one of the great actors from “Die Hard.”

Widespread China Protests, Iran’s Blinding Crackdown, Trump’s Unappetizing Guests

November 28, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “Widespread China Protests, Iran’s Blinding Crackdown, Trump’s Unappetizing Guests” on Spreaker.

After a brief discussion of the Jets decisive victory over the Bears, Jim and Greg cheer on the brave protesters in China who are fed up with the CCP’s suffocating COVID policies and demanding other freedoms in the face of a repressive regime. They also wince as an Iranian paramilitary group violently confronts protesters and even blinds many of them. And they react to Trump’s dinner with Kanye West last week that also included Milo Yiannopoulos and Nick Fuentes – a trio that Jim refers to as “the Mount Rushmore of lunatics.”

Encore: Making Sense of the Midterms

November 23, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “Encore: Making Sense of the Midterms” on Spreaker.

Jim and Greg will be back with brand new podcasts on Thursday and Friday. As they both go on vacation today, let’s look back at their analysis of the midterm elections from two weeks ago. At the time they noted some of the big races that slipped away from the GOP, cheered the big wins in places like Florida and Texas, and discussed what lessons can be learned in the immediate aftermath of the voting.

Iranian Courage, FIFA Corruption, Dems Boosting Trump

November 22, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “Iranian Courage, FIFA Corruption, Dems Boosting Trump” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they are stunned by the Iranian World Cup team refusing to sing their national anthem and the captain directly stating that the players support the protesters back home. Jim also lays into FIFA, which organizes the World Cup, for its pattern of corruption and coziness with authoritarian regimes like Qatar, Russia, and China. And they have plenty to say about how Democrats plan to help Donald Trump become the GOP nominee in 2024 because they think he will be easier to beat than Gov. DeSantis.

The Laptop is Real, Disney Lurches Left Again, Haley Hints Towards 2024

November 21, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “The Laptop is Real, Disney Lurches Left Again, Haley Hints Towards 2024” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they appreciate CBS catching up with other reports in realizing the Hunter Biden laptop is real, but they also note the timing matters because of the upcoming GOP House hearings on the Bidens. They also groan as Disney boots CEO Bob Chapek and brings back former longtime CEO Bob Iger. Jim says there are financial reasons for the move but suspects politics are a major factor as well. Finally, they note former UN ambassador and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley strongly hinting towards a 2024 presidential run and they wonder just how big this GOP field is going to get.

Kemp Boosts Walker, The FTX Fiasco, The Insane Twitter Death Watch

November 18, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “Kemp Boosts Walker, The FTX Fiasco, The Insane Twitter Death Watch” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they assess how the Georgia Senate run-off will be impacted by Gov. Kemp firing up his get-out-the-vote machine on behalf of Herschel Walker. Jim also walks us through the basics of the FTX implosion and the impact on our politics. Finally, they roll their eyes as another public protest from outgoing Twitter employees convinced many users that the platform was about to implode and the site turned into a death vigil.

Pelosi Stepping Down, GOP Majority’s Messaging, Feinstein Fading

November 17, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “Pelosi Stepping Down, GOP Majority’s Messaging, Feinstein Fading” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they once again cheer the impending GOP control of the House and today’s news that Nancy Pelosi will step down as House Democratic leader after 20 years. They also welcome the coming House GOP investigation of the Hunter Biden laptop and several related issues of possible corruption but they believe the first major press conference of the incoming majority should have been to lay out an agenda to lower our food and energy costs. And they wince as California Sen. Dianne Feinstein makes it clear she has no recollection of turning down the role of Senate Pro Tempore in the upcoming Congress.
