MLB All-Star Game Returning to Georgia, Silver Election Linings in Virginia, Elon’s Very Wrong Tweet

November 17, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “MLB All-Star Game Returning to Georgia, Silver Election Linings in Virginia, Elon’s Very Wrong Tweet” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they serve up two good martinis and a bad one to wrap up the week. First, they welcome Major League Baseball quietly announcing the 2025 All-Star Game will be in Atlanta, never mentioning that it removed the game from Atlanta in 2021 under the absurd pretext that Georgia’s new voting laws were racist and constituted voter suppression.

They’re also glad to report that were some positive results in last week’s Virginia elections, including a final reckoning for the Loudoun County prosecutor and school board who covered up a sexual assault in the name of diversity and even prosecuted the father of the victim instead of the perpetrator.

Finally, they dive into Elon Musk endorsing a post on X alleging Jews have a
“dialectical hatred of whites.”

Debt Ceiling Deal, EU vs. Twitter, Neuralink’s Promise vs. Peril

May 30, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Debt Ceiling Deal, EU vs. Twitter, Neuralink’s Promise vs. Peril” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they sort through the agreement between House Republicans and the Biden administration to avoid default. Jim explains why he sees the deal as about as good as the GOP could do with the limited leverage it has. And they address complaints from many conservatives that the plan allows too much baseline spending and didn’t accomplish some major goals. They also react to the European Union’s demands that Twitter abide by its “disinformation” policies or risk getting banned from Europe later this summer. Finally, they discuss the FDA approval of human trials for Elon Musk’s Neuralink brain implants and highlight the potential for amazing breakthroughs and disastrous unforeseen consequences.

Tim Scott 2024, Biden Forcing EV’s on U.S., Elon Musk vs. BBC

April 12, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Tim Scott 2024, Biden Forcing EV’s on U.S., Elon Musk vs. BBC” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they cheer South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott for launching an exploratory committee to run for president in 2024. While Scott’s chances of being the GOP nominee are slim, they explain why a Scott candidacy is good for the party and makes a lot more sense than some of the other Republican longshots. They also also fume as the Biden administration thinks its job is to remake the auto industry by imposing significant new emissions standards that will force electric vehicles on automakers and consumers within the next decade. However, most people don’t want one. Finally, they break down Elon Musk’sconfrontation with a BBC reporter alleging that “hateful speech” has increased considerably on Twitter since Musk took over but could not list a single example.

2022 Martini Awards Part 5: Most Overreported Story, Most Underreported Story, Best Story of 2022

December 29, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “2022 Martini Awards Part 5: Most Overreported Story, Most Underreported Story, Best Story of 2022” on Spreaker.

It’s media day in our year-end Three Martini Lunch awards and Jim and Greg have plenty to say about how things were covered – if they were covered at all.  Specifically, they look at the stories the mainstream media covered far too much, the ones they conveniently ignored because they didn’t fit their narrative, and they highlight what they saw as the best stories of 2022.

Twitter Suspensions, School Mask Mandates Return, Buttigieg Bails Again

December 16, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “Twitter Suspensions, School Mask Mandates Return, Buttigieg Bails Again” on Spreaker.

Federalist Radio Hour Host Emily Jashinsky is in for Jim today. Emily and Greg start by dissecting the left’s full meltdown over Twitter suspending several journalists on the left for violating the new doxxing rules. They also discuss the impact Twitter has in exposing media bias and whether Elon Musk’s actions break his pledge to champion free speech.
They’re also furious as Philadelphia public schools plan to impose a mask mandate on students when they return in January just as the damage done to poor and minority students in California from being out of school becomes clearer.
Finally, they wonder what exactly Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg does following reports he was vacationing in Portugal just a week before the nation was threatened with an economy-crippling railroad strike.

DeSantis vs. Apple, Biden’s Haiti Problem, Will McCarthy Have the Votes?

November 30, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “DeSantis vs. Apple, Biden’s Haiti Problem, Will McCarthy Have the Votes?” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they cheer Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for blasting Apple’s nauseating practices of silencing American voices it disagrees with and groveling before the Chinese government by making it harder for protesters there to get their messages out. They also groan as the crisis in Haiti is on the brink of collapse and the Biden administration fails to get other nations to take the lead on the response. And they discuss whether Kevin McCarthy will have the 218 votes needed to become speaker after at least two GOP members say they won’t back him on the House floor come January.

Iran Deal Imploding? Biden’s Student Loans Stunt, ‘Algorithmic Justice’

April 27, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “Iran Deal Imploding? Biden’s Student Loans Stunt, ‘Algorithmic Justice'” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they welcome what appears to be the Biden administration’s grudging admission that there won’t be a new Iran nuclear deal. They also hammer President Biden for reportedly getting ready to pander to his base through massive student loan forgiveness and explain who will really benefit. And they find the timing curious as Massachusetts Sen. Ed Markey demands “algorithmic justice” after Elon Musk buys Twitter.

Musk Buys Twitter, Kerry’s War on Gas, McMullin’s Bogus Pledge

April 26, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “Musk Buys Twitter, Kerry’s War on Gas, McMullin’s Bogus Pledge” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they mostly welcome Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter and promises of speech protection and dissect why so many on the left are hysterical about this news. They also sigh as Biden climate envoy John Kerry declares war on natural gas and promises it will be dead within 10 years. And they get a kick out of Utah “independent” U.S. Senate candidate Evan McMullin’s empty vow to caucus with neither Republicans nor Democrats if he is elected this year.

Join Jim and Greg for an all-crazy edition! They discuss additional evidence that Lin Wood cost Republicans the Senate, a New York Times columnist calling for a government “reality czar,” and Elon Musk working towards a brain chip to create “symbiosis between humans and artificial intelligence.”
