No 9/11 Death Penalty? Anti-Gun Governor & the Constitution, Gov. Youngkin’s Pardon

September 11, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “No 9/11 Death Penalty? Anti-Gun Governor & the Constitution, Gov. Youngkin’s Pardon” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they reflect upon 22 years since the horrific 9/11 attacks that significantly changed our nation in so many ways. They then tackle the first frustrating piece of news – that military prosecutors are seriously considering removing the death penalty as a possibility for 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and his co-conspirators held at Guantanamo Bay. Jim then launches a legendary scolding of New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham for brazenly violating the Constitution and unilaterally suspending the rights of citizens in her state to open or concealed carry guns. They also cheer Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin for pardoning the Loudoun County dad who was arrested for disrupting a school board meeting after his daughter was sexually assaulted by a male identifying as a female while in school and school leaders lied to him about it and repeatedly tried to cover it up. Finally, they end on the lighter side, as Greg reflects on a horrible performance by his Chicago Bears and Jim deals with the strange feeling of high expectations for his New York Jets.

Debate Aftermath, ‘People Need to Go to Jail,’ California GOP’s Surrender

August 24, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Debate Aftermath, ‘People Need to Go to Jail,’ California GOP’s Surrender” on Spreaker.

Inez Stepman of the Independent Women’s Forum and host of the “High Noon” podcast is in for Jim. Today, Inez and Greg break down the first GOP debate. Who did well? Who struggled? And did anything happen to dent Trump’s big lead? They also discuss the potentially criminal incompetence of officials in Maui that contributed to deaths of as many as 1,000 people and destroyed Lahaina. Inez lays out an infuriating series of bureaucratic insanity that wasted time and prioritized woke goals over people’s lives. Finally, they shake their heads as the California Republican Party voluntarily surrenders on a multitude of issues – and not just the cultural positions that are unpopular in the state but on several key issues where the public agrees with the longstanding GOP platform.

Timestamps:

0:45 – Analysis of the first GOP presidential debate, focusing on DeSantis, Ramaswamy, Haley, and Pence.

10:51 – Trump’s interview with Tucker Carlson

14:46 – Inez lists a multitude of ways that incompetence among officials in Maui cost many lives and argues there should be a full investigation and probably serious prosecution over the many inexcusable mistakes.

22:39 – The California Republican Party surrenders on many key issues, including positions that had been popular statewide

The GOP vs. Sen. Brown, Young Voters vs. Basic Freedoms, Trump’s Ukraine Plan

July 17, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “The GOP vs. Sen. Brown, Young Voters vs. Basic Freedoms, Trump’s Ukraine Plan” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they examine the Ohio U.S. Senate race now that the GOP field has three prominent candidates fighting to take on three-term Democrat Sherrod Brown. Is Brown beatable now that Ohio is trending more to the right and what or who will it take to beat him? They also cringe at two polls showing far too many young people are willing to surrender critical constitutional freedoms. According to the data, 44 percent of of American voters aged 25-34 think “misgendering” someone should be a criminal offense. And three in ten voters under the age of 30 think there should be government surveillance camera in all of our homes to help reduce abuse and domestic violence. Finally, they react to former President Trump explaining his plan to end the Russia-Ukraine war within 24 hours.
Timestamps:
0:23 – Can the GOP defeat Sen. Brown in Ohio and is there a candidate who can do it?
6:47 – New polls showing a plurality of millennial voters are fine with criminal penalties for “misgendering” people, and three in ten voters under age 30 are OK with government surveillance cameras in our homes.
14:07 – President Trump’s explanation of how he could end the Russia-Ukraine war in one day.

Politics & Road Repair, DOJ Impeded Hunter Probe, Freedoms vs. ‘The Common Good’

June 23, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Politics & Road Repair, DOJ Impeded Hunter Probe, Freedoms vs. ‘The Common Good'” on Spreaker.

Ricochet.com Editor-in-Chief Jon Gabriel is in for Jim, who will be back on Monday. Join Jon and Greg as they applaud the rapid reopening of Interstate 95 in Philadelphia and note how quickly some projects get done when there is strong political incentive to get it done. They also fume as IRS whistleblowers tell Congress that the Justice Department repeatedly meddled in the Hunter Biden investigation by tipping off Hunter’s lawyers at times, forbidding the U.S. attorney from opening multiple investigations, and discouraging the investigation of incriminating messages. Finally, they shudder at the the legislative push in Ireland to “restrict freedom for the common good,” which is always the argument for the government stealing our liberties and giving itself more power.

Seeking Sanity in Sports, Dems Going Soft on Venezuela, A Hurd of GOP Hopefuls

June 22, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Seeking Sanity in Sports, Dems Going Soft on Venezuela, A Hurd of GOP Hopefuls” on Spreaker.

Ricochet.com Editor-in-Chief Jon Gabriel is in for Jim today. Join Jon and Greg as they break down Senate hearings on whether biological men who identify as women should be permitted to participate in women’s sports – and the absurd notion from the left that there really is no difference between them when it comes to athletics. They also roll their eyes as a group of House Democrats asks the Biden administration to ease sanctions on Venezuela in order to help the beleaguered Venezuelan people, as if the people would see an ounce of benefit compared to the corrupt communists running the country. Finally, they groan as former Texas Rep. Will Hurd joins a very crowded Republican presidential field with no chance to win but with a very good chance of accomplishing the one thing he doesn’t want to happen.

Dobbs & Declining Abortions, Space Force Discrimination, Media’s Trump Obsession

June 16, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Dobbs & Declining Abortions, Space Force Discrimination, Media’s Trump Obsession” on Spreaker.

Hillsdale College Radio General Manager and Radio Free Hillsdale Hour Host Scot Bertram is in for Jim today. Join Scot and Greg as they cheer statistics showing abortions are down in the U.S. since the Dobbs decision at the Supreme Court and way down in states that have enacted stronger pro-life laws. They’re also horrified as a three-star general in the U.S. Space Force warns that people who are less qualified for command positions will likely be chosen for them because of state laws banning puberty blockers and radical gender surgeries for minors. Finally, they groan as ABC’s “Good Morning America” spends almost an entire interview with GOP presidential candidate and Miami Mayor Francis Suarez asking him about Donald Trump. Scot says this should a major warning sign to the RNC about who ought to host Republican primary debates, and he suggests a familiar name to be a panelist at those debates.

House GOP on Offense, Major DeSantis Momentum, Florida’s Desperate Dems

May 9, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “House GOP on Offense, Major DeSantis Momentum, Florida’s Desperate Dems” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they bring you two good martinis along with a crazy one that’s also pretty good. First, they applaud the House GOP and National Republican Congressional Committee for being on offense during the debt ceiling fight and having more effective messaging on this issues than any time in recent memory. They also take note of the long list of legislative victories that Gov. Ron DeSantis and Florida lawmakers piled up this year, and how it will serve as a springboard into a DeSantis White House bid. Finally, they get a kick out of some Florida Dems trying to recruit former NBA stars Grant Hill and Dwyane Wade into running for U.S. Senate next year.

Vulnerable Senate Dems in ’24, The SCOTUS Illegitimacy Charade, Where’s the Manifesto?

May 5, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Vulnerable Senate Dems in ’24, The SCOTUS Illegitimacy Charade, Where’s the Manifesto?” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they wrap up the week. After Jim’s choice comments on tomorrow’s coronation of King Charles III, they welcome the news that the seven most vulnerable Senate seats in 2024 are all held by Democrats. They also unload on former Clinton campaign figure Brian Fallon for hyperventilating that Justice Clarence Thomas needs to be removed from the Supreme Court and that the entire conservative majority is illegitimate. And they give the real reason the left is so upset about the high court. Finally, they wonder why the FBI still hasn’t released the manifesto from the Covenant School shooting in March and apparently has no plans to do so “anytime soon.”

Confronting Weingarten’s Lies, Justice Jumps In, Thiel Sitting Out 2024

April 28, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Confronting Weingarten’s Lies, Justice Jumps In, Thiel Sitting Out 2024” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they serve up three good martinis to close out the week! First, they cheer CNN contributor Scott Jennings for calmly but firmly confronting American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten over her absurd lies that she was pushing harder than anyone to reopen schools in the midst of the pandemic when she was loudly persistent in keeping them closed. They also welcome the news that West Virginia GOP Gov. Jim Justice is running for U.S. Senate in 2024, giving Republicans their best chance yet to knock off Sen. Joe Manchin or maybe even convince him not to run for re-election. Finally, they welcome the news that Silicon Valley billionaire Peter Thiel is planning to sit out the 2024 cycle after backing and bankrolling multiple weak candidates in the midterms.

Tucker-Fox Split, NYT Hits Biden on Age, ISIS Thrives in Afghanistan, Bud Light’s Damage Control

April 24, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Tucker-Fox Split, NYT Hits Biden on Age, ISIS Thrives in Afghanistan, Bud Light’s Damage Control” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for four martinis today, as they begin with the breaking news that Tucker Carlson and Fox News Channel are going their separate ways effective immediately. Then it’s on to the regularly scheduled martinis, starting with both the Wall Street Journal and New York Times raising the alarm about Biden running for a second term at his age and mental state.  The Journal says Biden is in “obvious decline.” Then they shudder at a Washington Post story revealing the Islamic State has a home in Afghanistan and his actively plotting attacks in Asia and Europe and is doing aspirational plotting against the United States. Finally, they discuss the frenzied damage control at Anheuser-Busch after losing billions in market share after celebrating the “womanhood” of transgender figure Dylan Mulvaney.
