Dems’ Gen Z Panic, Awful Options for Jewish Voters in NYC, Dems Won’t Apologize to Hur

May 27, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “Dems’ Gen Z Panic, Awful Options for Jewish Voters in NYC, Dems Won’t Apologize to Hur” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for the 3 Martini Lunch as they highlight the Democrats’ clumsy attempts to woo Gen Z men, the horrible records of leading NYC mayoral candidates towards the city’s Jewish population, and Senate Democrats refusing to apologize for demonizing Special Counsel Robert Hur.

First, Jim and Greg have a good laugh over reports that Democrats are spending millions trying to win back young men—especially after Gen Z males swung Republican more than expected in 2024. But instead of rethinking policies, Democrats are focusing on tone and messaging. Jim floats the idea of launching his own Gen Z initiative, mainly to fleece naive Democrat donors.

Next, they slam the dismal choices facing New York City in the mayoral race, as Democrats with lousy records toward Jewish residents lead the pack. Jim and Greg discuss former GOP New York Lt. Gov. Betsy McCaughey’s warnings about Andrew Cuomo’s empty promises and Zohran Mamdani’s poorly concealed hostility, leaving Jewish New Yorkers with little reason for optimism.

Finally, they shake their heads in amusement as Democrat Senators Tina Smith and Tim Kaine say they will not apologize to former Special Counsel Robert Hur for publicly trashing him last year after Hur referred to President Biden as an elderly man with a poor memory. Even with the audio clearly vindicating Hur, the Democrats stand by their vicious statements.

Trump Says Houthis Standing Down, GOP’s Senate Midterm Jitters, Biden’s Painful Gaza Pier

May 7, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “Trump Says Houthis Standing Down, GOP’s Senate Midterm Jitters, Biden’s Painful Gaza Pier” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for Tuesday’s 3 Martini Lunch as they cautiously welcome reports that the Iran-backed Houthi rebels will stop attacking ships in the Red Sea. They also dig into GOP concerns over the 2026 Senate map and expose the shocking costs and failures of President Biden’s Gaza pier project.

First, they react to former President Trump announcing a suspension of U.S. military operations against the Houthis, after the group pledged to cease attacks on ships near Yemen.  Is this the result of overwhelming U.S. force, a concession by the Iranians in hopes of reaching a nuclear deal, both, or something else?

Next, they examine growing Republican anxiety about the 2026 U.S. Senate midterms. Top GOP recruits in Georgia and New Hampshire say they will not run and things look a bit shakier than expected for incumbents in three other states. So, are Republicans just overreacting or is there cause for concern?

Finally, they vent over reports that 62 U.S. service personnel were injured in various ways while assigned to construct the pier designed to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza. Adding insult to those injuries, the pier was only operational for a short time and much of the aid was stolen by terrorists and never given to the people in need.

Trump Warns Hamas, Ft. Bragg Returns with A Twist, FBI Leaks and ICE Raids

February 11, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “Trump Warns Hamas, Ft. Bragg Returns with A Twist, FBI Leaks and ICE Raids” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for the 3 Martini Lunch podcast, where they break down President Trump’s ultimatum to Hamas, the return of Fort Bragg’s name in a clever way, and alarming reports of FBI figures allegedly tipping off illegal immigrants about ICE raids.

First, President Trump is issuing a stern warning to Hamas, saying that hell will be unleashed if all hostages are not released by Saturday. His ultimatum comes as Hamas pauses its release of hostages, claiming Israel has violated the terms of the ceasefire. Jim believes Trump’s anger over the condition of released hostages is evident, and they both think the vague nature of Trump’s threat is a smart way to put pressure on the terrorists.

Next, Jim and Greg applaud Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s decision to rename Fort Liberty in North Carolina back to Fort Bragg. The name had been familiar to many, and this change not only ends the confusion but also shifts the honor to a different individual named Bragg—a U.S. Army PFC who heroically fought at the Battle of the Bulge, rather than the Confederate general.

Finally, they react to disturbing allegations that some FBI figures and other government sources are tipping off illegal immigrants about pending ICE raids aimed at removing criminals and others who are in the U.S. illegally. Jim says anyone who has a problem with the policy needs to resign or ask for a transfer. And anyone who deliberately undermines it should face stiff penalties.

Hegseth Picked for Pentagon, CIA Arrest Over Israel Leak, California’s Slow Vote Count

November 13, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Hegseth Picked for Pentagon, CIA Arrest Over Israel Leak, California’s Slow Vote Count” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they break down President-Elect Trump’s nomination of Pete Hegseth for Secretary of Defense, a CIA officer charged with leaking Israel’s attack plans on Iran, and California’s protracted vote-counting process.

First, they focus on Trump’s pick of Pete Hegseth, a decorated veteran who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, to lead the Department of Defense. Democrats, including Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, are outraged, pointing to Hegseth’s role as a Fox News host. The left is also not happy about Hegseth’s determination to dismantle the Biden-era DEI approach to building and running the military. But Jim says barring any serious revelations, Hegseth should be confirmed.

Next, they react to shocking news of a CIA officer charged with leaking highly classified intelligence regarding a potential Israeli strike on Iran. They discuss how this breach severely damages trust in American intelligence agencies and examine the ways individuals with access to top-secret information can become compromised, posing significant national security risks.

Finally, they analyze an NBC News report on why California’s vote count is taking well over a week. Unlike states such as Florida and Texas, which count nearly all votes on election night, California faces substantial delays. And each part of the explanation for California’s sluggishness just exposes what a terrible election system the state has.

Kirby Disrespects Veterans, Blaming the GOP for California’s Woes, No Single-Family Homes?

September 12, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Kirby Disrespects Veterans, Blaming the GOP for California’s Woes, No Single-Family Homes?” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for a quick and fun discussion of getting spam emails from the DNC. Then they tackle National Security Council spokesman John Kirby disrespecting veterans critical of Biden, an LA Times columnist blaming Republicans for California’s litany of problems, and politicians in Maryland considering an end to single-family homes.

After some quick jokes about the odd, unsolicited DNC emails that Greg keeps getting, they dig into Admiral Kirby hitting “reply all” on a request for a statement from veterans mad about Biden’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan and announcing their concerns weren’t even worth a response. “Obviously no use in responding. A ‘handful’ of vets indeed and all of one stripe,” is what Kirby said. Jim says Kirby needs to remember that he works for the people and not the Democratic Party.

Next, they roll their eyes at an opinion column in the Los Angeles Times that admits California is a mess. And even though no Republican has held statewide office since early 2011, columnist Steve Lopez says it’s still the GOP’s fault because of things Republicans did more than 50 years ago and that the Democrats’ many failures under one-party control in recent years are also the Republicans’ fault. Really! Jim has little patience for this revisionism and says Democrats have been able to do whatever they want in California. And what they want leads to disaster.

Finally, they turn their attention to the DC suburbs in Maryland. For years, people on the right have been branded as conspiracy theorists for saying the left wants to put an end to single-family homes and crowd more people into those spaces in order to collect more in property taxes. In Montgomery County, Maryland, the county council is now…surprise…considering legislation to put an end to single-family homes – under the false pretense of creating more affordable housing.

The Debate: Kamala’s Lying & Baiting, Trump’s Distracted Rambling, Moderators’ Bias

September 11, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “The Debate: Kamala’s Lying & Baiting, Trump’s Distracted Rambling, Moderators’ Bias” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they dissect Tuesday night’s presidential debate and how everyone on that stage was underwhelming in their performances – from Kamala Harris dodging or lying on the hard questions to Donald Trump missing opportunities and getting easily distracted to the moderators playing favorites. They also update yesterday’s Taylor Swift story and reflect on 23 years since the horrific 9/11 terrorist attacks.

First, they break down Kamala’s performance, particularly how she refused to answer challenging questions about the Biden-Harris record on the economy, the border, and her many sudden policy changes. They also note specific areas where she tried to sneak to the right of Trump and her clear strategy of baiting Trump away from discussing the issues most damaging to her.

Next, they explain how Trump kept falling for the rabbit trails offered by Harris, his failure to highlight some of the most devastating aspects of the Biden-Harris record, misstating other attempts to land punches, and how he looked generally unprepared for the event. They also highlight a few of his zingers against Harris and Biden, but even those turned out to be missed opportunities.

Then, they evaluate ABC News moderators David Muir and Lindsey Davis for their one-sided, questionable fact-checking and for offering some real softball questions to Harris.

Finally, Jim and Greg share their thoughts as the nation solemnly marks the 23rd anniversary of the 9/11 Al Qaeda terrorist attacks against New York City, the Pentagon, and Flight 93 in Pennsylvania.

Kamala & Price Controls, Trump & the Medal of Honor, Clueless Biden Corrected Again

August 16, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Kamala & Price Controls, Trump & the Medal of Honor, Clueless Biden Corrected Again” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they take the current president and both major party nominees to task today. They unload on Kamala’s proposed government intrusion into the economy, Trump’s cavalier comparison involving the Medal of Honor, and Biden’s staff having to explain yet again that what Biden said isn’t administration policy.

First, they review more specifics from Vice President Harris’s economic plan to reduce the cost of food, housing and more. They explain that the money she wants to give first-time homebuyers will only drive up prices – due to the infusion of money and higher demand. And they tee off on her plans to tell companies how much they are allowed to charge. And one of Jim’s fellow Washington Post columnists – who is not on the political right – pulls no punches on condemning the agenda.

Next, they address Donald Trump honoring donor Miriam Adelson by reflecting on the time he awarded her with the Presidential Medal of Freedom. In doing so, he compared that award with the Medal of Honor and remarked that the Presidential Medal of Freedom is “actually much better” because the Medal of Honor recipients are “either in very bad shape because they’ve been hit so many times by bullets or they’re dead” and Mrs. Adelson is “a healthy, beautiful woman.”

Finally, they rip the listless, lame duck presidency of Joe Biden, who once again wandered off script with the media – this time on Venezuela. And his national security staff once had to come out and tell us to ignore what the president just said.

The JD Vance Speech, Biden Campaign Circles the Drain, MSNBC ‘Huffing the Copium’

July 18, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “The JD Vance Speech, Biden Campaign Circles the Drain, MSNBC ‘Huffing the Copium'” on Spreaker.

Inez Stepman of the Independent Women’s Forum and host of the “High Noon” podcast is in for Jim. Today, Inez and Greg discuss J. D. Vance’s RNC speech last night, the latest from a steadily collapsing Biden campaign, and Joy Reid’s latest unhinged take on Donald Trump and President Biden.

First, they highlight the most salient points from Vance’s speech. While Jim explained in the Morning Jolt why he did not like the speech because of how it  represents an unfortunate shift in the Republican party and Greg has been bothered by heavy union embrace at the RNC, Inez contends that we are living in different times, and Vance’s vision is a necessary one for the country’s future.

Next, they pull out the popcorn as high profile Democrats like Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer shove Biden harder towards ending his re-election bid. His recent gaffes, forgetting the names of President Herbert Hoover and his own Defense Secretary, Lloyd Austin, as well as his recent contraction of Covid-19, are certainly not helping his case.

Finally, they rip Joy Reid’s attempt to compare Joe Biden’s (hopeful) recovery from Covid to Trump recovering from getting shot. Inez quips that Democrats are just “huffing copium” at this point, because Trump obviously has all the luck on his side and has a knack for making the most of key moments.

Israel’s Singular Focus, The Deceptive Jobs Report, Blumenthal Pushing Sotomayor to Retire

April 8, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Israeli Unity vs. Hamas, The Deceptive Jobs Report, Blumenthal Pushing Sotomayor to Retire” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for a few quick thoughts on the solar eclipse and then martinis covering the Middle East, the hidden truth inside the March jobs report, and a senator trying to push a Supreme Court justice into retirement.

First, they applaud former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett for fending off the biased questions of CNN’s Fareed Zakaria and repeatedly echoing his political rival, current Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in saying that Israel must destroy Hamas once and for all.

Next, they shudder at the truth behind the supposedly good March jobs report – that virtually all of the jobs created last month were part-time positions. They discuss what this means and why it explains Americans’ disgust with Biden over the economy despite good unemployment numbers.

Finally, they get a kick out of Connecticut Sen. Richard Blumenthal publicly pressuring Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor to retire – with the not-so-subtle suggestion that she could die soon and hand a Republican president the opportunity to replace her.
