McCarthy Rejects Schiff & Swalwell, Santos Plays Victim, Pence’s Classified Papers

January 25, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “McCarthy Rejects Schiff & Swalwell, Santos Plays Victim, Pence’s Classified Papers” on Spreaker.

Jim and Greg discuss House Speaker Kevin McCarthy rejecting Reps. Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell for the House Intelligence Committee, with Jim explaining why the move is good politics and good policy. They also groan as Rep. George Santos criticizes comedians and other politicians for making fun of his serial mendacity. And as former Vice President Mike Pence admits having classified documents, they wonder just how many of our top officials are careless with sensitive materials.

Stabenow Won’t Run, Principle vs. Preening, Swearing By Superman

January 5, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Stabenow Won’t Run, Principle vs. Preening, Swearing By Superman” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they start the day with some encouraging news about Buffalo Bills defensive back Damar Hamlin and his recovery from cardiac arrest. Then they welcome the news that lockstep liberal Democrat Sen. Debbie Stabenow of Michigan will not run for re-election in 2024 and discuss what that open race might look like. They also discuss Day 3 of the stalemate over who will be the next Speaker of the House and point out that some opponents of Kevin McCarthy have principled reasons for withholding support while others just seem to enjoy the political theater. Finally, they sigh as incoming California Rep. Robert Garcia plans to be sworn in on a copy of the first-ever issue of the Superman comic book.

Widespread China Protests, Iran’s Blinding Crackdown, Trump’s Unappetizing Guests

November 28, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “Widespread China Protests, Iran’s Blinding Crackdown, Trump’s Unappetizing Guests” on Spreaker.

After a brief discussion of the Jets decisive victory over the Bears, Jim and Greg cheer on the brave protesters in China who are fed up with the CCP’s suffocating COVID policies and demanding other freedoms in the face of a repressive regime. They also wince as an Iranian paramilitary group violently confronts protesters and even blinds many of them. And they react to Trump’s dinner with Kanye West last week that also included Milo Yiannopoulos and Nick Fuentes – a trio that Jim refers to as “the Mount Rushmore of lunatics.”

GOP Chance in Oregon, Red State Jobs Boom, Stelter Out at CNN

August 19, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “GOP Chance in Oregon, Red State Jobs Boom, Stelter Out at CNN” on Spreaker.

It’s all good martinis today! Join Jim and Greg as they welcome news that the Oregon governor’s race is a toss-up thanks to a former Democrat running as an independent. They also celebrate news that the strong hiring numbers we’ve seen in the wake of the pandemic are overwhelmingly powered by Republican-led states. And they discuss why it was long past time for Brian Stelter to be shown the door at CNN after constantly turning a program designed to objectively evaluate the media into a cheerleading session for the left.

Answering Your Questions, Part 2

August 12, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “Answering Your Questions, Part 2” on Spreaker.

Your questions were so good that Jim and Greg decided to take on three more today! In this edition, they address why supposed conservatives not only refused to support Donald Trump but stopped advocating for conservatism and openly embraced the Democrats while insisting they are still the principled ones. Then they discuss who they would choose as their running mates, with the condition that they cannot choose each other. Finally, they talk “Die Hard” – you knew it was going to come up! This time they are asked to rank the films in the series from best to worst.

Good News In Missouri; Peak Left-Wing Media Saturation; What Is A Recession Anyway?

July 26, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “Good News In Missouri; Peak Left-Wing Media Saturation; What Is A Recession Anyway?” on Spreaker.

Jim is joined by Chad Benson for lunch today. Cheers!

GOOD: It’s starting to look like Missouri Republicans won’t select the suicide mission of nominating Eric Greitens!

GOOD (Round Two): It’s not so much that it’s good that Samantha Bee’s show is canceled, so much that networks are realizing that the market for left-wing therapy late night shows is oversaturated…

BAD: Biden says we’re not in a recession, which is more or less a sign that Thursday will confirm we’re in recession.

It’s all crazy martinis today! Join Jim and Greg as they break down the criticism of First Lady Jill Biden after her cringeworthy pandering to Latinos in Texas. They also the growing evidence that the story of a 10-year-old girl being raped and denied an abortion may be pure fiction. And they groan at the calls for Tucker Carlson and Jon Stewart to run for president – which Stewart is thankfully rejecting at this point.
