McCarthy’s Energy Focus, Marianne’s Temper, Barney Frank Gets A Pass

March 17, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “McCarthy’s Energy Focus, Marianne’s Temper, Barney Frank Gets A Pass” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they welcome the House GOP effort to reinvigorate the American energy sector. But they know getting it into law is going to be very difficult. They also react to the Politico report alleging Marianne Williamson is a terror as a boss and routinely flew off the handle and berated staff during her 2020 campaign. Does this matter much in a Democratic primary that’s expected to be a blowout? And did this story arise organically or the Biden team decide to nuke Williamson before she even gets started? Finally, Jim explains how former Rep. Barney Frank would be the villain of the recent bank collapse scandal if he were a Republican. But he’s a Democrat so the media flogging will probably never come.

Masks Off, China’s New Taiwan Threat, Pennsylvania Rerun?

March 7, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Masks Off, China’s New Taiwan Threat, Pennsylvania Rerun?” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they serve up three crazy martinis! First, they note New York City Mayor Eric Adams demanding that people remove their masks before entering stores. It’s an effort to identify shoplifters and looters, which is good, but it wasn’t long ago that that you couldn’t do much of anything in the Big Apple unless you were masked up. They also shake their heads as China makes another overt threat towards Taiwan, mentioning a blacklist of Taiwanese figures to kill during the coming invasion. Finally, there’s less than thrilled that the Republican who lost the Pennsylvania governor’s race last year is thinking about running for U.S. Senate next year.

Biden Ditches Dems Over D.C., Portland’s Crime Problem, Manchin’s Delicate Dance

March 3, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Biden Ditches Dems Over D.C., Portland’s Crime Problem, Manchin’s Delicate Dance” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they get three or even four pieces of good news over President Biden deciding to sign legislation to reverse new, softer crime laws in Washington, D.C., if the Senate passes it. They also wince as Portland’s rampant looting problems force Nike to demand security from off-duty police officers and Walmart announces it is closing every store in the city. Finally, they get kick out of Sen. Joe Manchin trying to get back in the good graces of West Virginia voters by pretending he’s not sure if he would support President Biden for another term.

Two Dems Defy Biden, Garland’s Night Blindness, Kerry Disappointed In Us

March 2, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Two Dems Defy Biden, Garland’s Night Blindness, Kerry Disappointed In Us” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they welcome Sens. Joe Manchin and Jon Tester joining with the GOP to pass a bill reversing a Labor Department rule on factoring climate and social matters (ESG) into investing decisions. We realize it’s a political calculation but Tester and Manchin still voted the right way. They also thoroughly unimpressed by the Senate testimony of Attorney General Merrick Garland, who says there have been so few arrests in response to attacks on pregnancy centers because the crimes happened at night. Finally, they are crestfallen to learn Biden Climate Envoy John Kerry is disappointed in so many of us for how we drive, heat our homes, and more.

Buttigieg’s Bad Day, Consumer Spending Concerns, Marianne Williamson Is Back

February 24, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Buttigieg’s Bad Day, Consumer Spending Concerns, Marianne Williamson Is Back” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they appreciate the National Transportation Safety Board explanation of what really led to the train derailment in Ohio – an ignored warning on an overheated axle and not some left-wing fiction about reckless deregulation. Plus, they discuss what this means for Buttigieg’s political future and how President Biden may have stumbled into a stroke of political genius. They also wince at the latest consumer expenditure numbers suggesting inflation may be stubbornly high for quite a bit longer. And they get a kick out of the news that Marianne Williamson plans to enter the Democratic presidential field, but also wonder whether more prominent figures on the left will follow her lead.

Toxic Train Disaster, Lemon’s Prime Lunacy, Biden Backer’s Bogus Claim

February 16, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Toxic Train Disaster, Lemon’s Lunacy, Biden Backer’s Bogus Claim” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they discuss the frustrating lack of answers from Norfolk Southern railroad or the government for the residents of East Palestine, Ohio, worried about 20 rail cars filled with toxic substances spilling in their community after a derailment. They also light up CNN’s Don Lemon for suggesting that 51-year-old Nikki Haley is past her prime” and so is every woman beyond her twenties, thirties, and maybe forties. The CNN discussion followed Haley’s suggestion that every political figure over the age of 75 be required to take a mental competency test before serving, an obvious reference to President Biden and President Trump. Haley’s idea prompted Delaware Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester to declare Biden has more energy now than he did in his forties. Jim and Greg aren’t buying it.

Justice Poised to Run, California Wastes Massive Rain, Dems’ Suddenly Love Georgia

January 31, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Justice Poised to Run, California Wastes Massive Rain, Dems’ Suddenly Love Georgia” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they anticipate a U.S. Senate run from GOP West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice and whether that will change Sen. Joe Manchin’s plans for 2024. They also react to former Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels announcing he will not run for U.S. Senate next year. Then, they fume as water-starved California lets 95 percent of the recent deluge of rain flush out into the Pacific Ocean in order to save the delta smelt in a key part of the state. Finally, they shake their heads as Democrats go from declaring Georgia Jim Crow 2.0 to a leading candidate to host next year’s Democratic National Convention.

GOP Senate Jockeying, Choosing Feelings Over Merit, Davos Elitists Assemble

January 17, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “GOP Senate Jockeying, Choosing Feelings Over Merit, Davos Elitists Assemble” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they welcome new developments in two key Senate races. First, they are intrigued by popular GOP West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice seriously considering a challenge to Sen. Joe Manchin in 2024. They also discuss Indiana Rep. Jim Banks announcing he will seek the open U.S. Senate seat in Indiana, which is already held by Republicans. They also fume as multiple school districts in Northern Virginia fail to tell National Merit Finalists of their awards out of fear of making those who didn’t receive the honor feel badly. But they do cheer Gov. Glenn Youngkin for blasting the administrators in three separate districts for their decisions. Finally, they shudder as the supposed elites gather at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, to decide what sacrifices we’re supposed to make in order to advance their global agenda.

Decent Jobs Report, Biden’s Border Deception, The ‘Transage’ Movement

January 6, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Decent Jobs Report, Biden’s Border Deception, The ‘Transage’ Movement” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they are pleased to see the December jobs report exceed expectations while many economists brace for a recession this year. They also unload on President Biden for his deceptive and disingenuous immigration speech downplaying the crisis, exaggerating his response, and blaming Republicans for the problems. Finally, they push back on the latest assault on reality – the “transage” movement – which suggests your age is not your real age but the age you identify as.
