Jim and Greg give credit to CNN’s Dana Bash for asking tough questions of the three House Democrats House Speaker Kevin McCarthy wants booted from their sensitive committees – and their answers were rather unconvincing. They also react to the latest “Twitter Files,” exposing the powerful left-wing group Hamilton 68, which declared many Twitter accounts to be Russian bots or peddling Russian disinformation, when the vast majority were real people who just disagreed with the left’s narrative on various issues. Finally, they react to President Trump’s bizarre accusation that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis locked down his state far too long during the COVID pandemic, when the evidence is strongly to the contrary, and discuss why Trump is pursuing this line of attack.
Superbowl
GOP Wins Last House Race, China’s Dangerous DNA Plans, Omar’s Shady Finances
After a very brief Super Bowl recap, Jim and Greg cheer Claudia Tenney winning the final House race from the 2020 cycle and relish Democrats trotting out some awfully familiar complaints of irregularities. They also shudder at a new government report showing China is stealing the DNA of American citizens for nefarious purposes. And they discuss how Ilhan Omar’s husband is getting very rich by consulting with her campaign, and the craziest part is that it’s all apparently legal.

World Rejects Maduro’s Madness, Virginia’s Northam Nightmare, Superbowl Ads Flop
Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America welcome news that military and police are starting to defy President Maduro and that more influential nations are recognizing Juan Guiado as the interim president. They also wade through Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam’s shifting explanations for the racist photo in in his medical school yearbook and Northam defying both parties by refusing to resign. And they give thumbs down to most of the Superbowl ads for being too serious and too obvious in their efforts to be woke, saving their biggest eye roll for the Washington Post.
DNC Dead Broke, GOP Govs Sinking Offshore Drilling, PolitiFact’s Grave Error
Need a break from the memo frenzy? Have some martinis with us! Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America get a kick out of seeing the Democratic National Committee with less than half a million dollars on hand heading into the midterms while Republicans have $40 million ready to go. They also shake their heads as Maryland GOP Gov. Larry Hogan wants to opt out of the Trump’s administration’s plans for offshore energy exploration, a move made much easier by government already granting an exemption for Florida. And they bang their heads against the desk as PolitiFact hired unhinged former Florida Rep. Alan Grayson to be part of their team, only to reverse course after liberals and conservatives howled in protest. Jim and Greg also share their unvarnished thoughts on Groundhog Day and offer their Superbowl predictions.
Three Martini Lunch 2/3/17
Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America cheer French security for shooting a would-be terrorist outside the Louvre. They also discuss Kellyanne Conway’s “Bowling Green Massacre” moment, her decision to slam the media when correcting her mistake, and the media for focusing more on her mistake than her point that refugees in the U.S. were trying to kill Americans. They unload on former Labor Secretary Robert Reich for suggesting, without any facts, that the Berkeley rioters were conservatives. And they offer their Superbowl predictions and preferences.
