House Nears Mayorkas Impeachment, Iran Militia Says No More Attacks, Turning Humans Into Blank Slates?

January 31, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “House Nears Mayorkas Impeachment, Iran Militia Says No More Attacks, Turning Humans Into Blank Slates?” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they dish up three big martinis today and update one from Tuesday.

Before the first martini, they respond to unnamed Trump advisers suggesting a “holy war” against Taylor Swift if she publicly endorses Biden. Instead of just ignoring it if that happens, the former president’s team seems committed to the worst possible strategy.

Then it’s on to the good martini as the House Homeland Security Committee approves two articles of impeachment against Homeland Security Sec. Alejandro Mayorkas, who has incessantly lied to the American people about the border being secure and under control – and has done nothing to stem the tide of people entering the U.S. ilegally.

Next, they get a kick out of an Iran-backed militia group, that was likely behind the deadly attack on U.S. forces in Jordan, saying it won’t attack any more so there’s no need for a U.S. military response. Sorry terrorists, it doesn’t work that way!

Finally, they recoil at prominent Silicon Valley figure Bryan Johnson not only trying to stay alive for hundreds of years, but now saying he wants us to “divorce from all human norms, all human customs, and all human thought” and turn us into “blank slates.”

Trump Tax Leaker Imprisoned, Biden Donors Get First Iran Thoughts, A Swift-Kelce Psy-Op?

January 30, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Trump Tax Leaker Imprisoned, Biden Donors Get First Iran Thoughts, A Swift-Kelce Psy-Op?” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg today for the return of the good martini, a very important bad one, and a highly-spirited crazy martini that either indicates a sinister left-wing plot, the rescue of Western Civilization, or just maybe, something in between.

First, they are pleasantly surprised to see a serious prosecution and sentencing for the IRS contractor who leaked President Trump tax returns to the media.

Then, they’re a bit puzzled as to why the Pentagon is so sure that Iran doesn’t want war with the U.S. But Jim also fumes as President Biden refuses to make any public statement on American forces being killed by Iranian proxies but will likely address it and the U.S. response to donors at a private dinner tonight in Florida.

Finally, Jim and Greg address the notion that the Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce relationship is a psychological operation orchestrated by Democrats and is designed to help Biden get re-elected. They explain why the psy-op theory doesn’t hold up, which cynical theory makes more sense, and what to conclude if the relationship is genuine.

Iran Proxies Kill U.S. Forces, Jean-Pierre’s Incompetence, Ilhan Omar’s True Allegiance

January 29, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Iran Proxies Kill U.S. Forces, Jean-Pierre’s Incompetence, Ilhan Omar’s True Allegiance” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they kick off the week with three difficult martinis!

First, they’re furious over Iranian-backed militia forces targeting, killing, and wounding American troops in Jordan. What is the best way to punish Iran now since President Biden’s “proportionate” approach did not deter the first 150 attacks?

Then they cringe as White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre completely mangles a short message of condolences for the families of the American personnel killed in Jordan and even suggests our military fights for the Biden administration.

Finally, they dissect the latest insanity from Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar after she says her first loyalty is to Somalia followed by Islam. Is America anywhere on her short list?

UN’s Kangaroo Court Hits Israel, Biden’s Natural Gas Nonsense, Originalism & Trump on the Ballot

January 26, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “UN’s Kangaroo Court Hits Israel, Biden’s Natural Gas Nonsense, Originalism & Trump on the Ballot” on Spreaker.

Former Chief Assistant U.S. Attorney and National Review Contributing Editor Andy McCarthy is in for Jim today, and he and Greg serve up three lousy martinis.

First, they roll their eyes as the United Nations’ irrelevant International Court of Justice orders Israel to stop committing acts of genocide in Gaza, must allow aid to flow in, and must not destroy evidence of alleged genocide. The court did not demand an immediate ceasefire, which South Africa had requested.

They also groan as President Biden suspends liquefied natural gas exports to certain nations due to climate change concerns. Andy explains how this is a major giveaway to Russia and they both shake their heads over how Biden appears to be caving to environmental activists in pretending that natural gas is bad for the planet.

Finally, they get a kick out of a Yale University law professor arguing that the self-described originalists on the Supreme Court must boot Donald Trump from the ballot or they will be hypocrites and…of course…the legitimacy of the Supreme Court will be damaged.

Abbott vs. Biden at the Border, Zero Palestinians Reject Hamas Attacks, Trump Warns Haley Donors

January 25, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Abbott vs. Biden at the Border, Zero Palestinians Reject Hamas Attacks, Trump Warns Haley Donors” on Spreaker.

There are no good martinis today but there are two very important bad ones and a crazy one too!

First, they dive into Texas Gov. Greg Abbott insisting that Texas will keep defending the border because the Biden administration has chosen not to, and he says the Constitution is clearly on his side. Meanwhile, some Democrats want President Biden to take federal control of the Texas National Guard because Abbott is allegedly defying an order from the U.S. Supreme Court.

Then they recoil at a new poll out of the West Bank. They expected a disturbingly high percentage of residents there to consider the October attacks by Hamas against Israel to be “legitimate resistance.” They were not ready for zero percent of them to say it was “illegitimate resistance.” How do you hope to ever reach any sort of stability when virtually all people there think what Hamas did was OK.

Finally, they scratch their heads as Donald Trump lashes out at Nikki Haley donors and says that, going forward, anyone who donates to her is banished from MAGA forever.

Phillips’ Surprising Showing, Nikki Haley & Non-Republican Votes, Does Putin Want Alaska Back?

January 25, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Phillips’ Surprising Showing, Nikki Haley & Non-Republican Votes, Does Putin Want Alaska Back?” on Spreaker.

The New Hampshire primaries are in the books and we’ve got two martinis reviewing the votes and one other truly crazy idea.

First, they applaud Minnesota Rep. Dean Phillips for getting nearly 20 percent of the vote on the Democrats’ side even though the primary was non-binding. They also appreciate him being only one of the few Democrats bothering to speak with Trump supporters and not writing them off as unredeemable like President Biden often does.

Then they react to Donald Trump’s double-digit win over Nikki Haley in the Republican primary. And with Haley winning a large majority of unaffiliated voters, does this indicate that these voters are gettable for the GOP or were they just creating mischief?

Finally, they react to conflicting reports that Vladimir Putin is seeking to restore additional territory that once belonged to Russia – including Alaska.

Americans Overwhelmingly Back Israel, Biden’s ‘Democracy’ Smokescreen, Now Coffee is Ruining the Planet?

January 23, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Americans Overwhelmingly Back Israel, Biden’s ‘Democracy’ Smokescreen, Now Coffee is Ruining the Planet?” on Spreaker.

Hey, we actually have a good martini today!

Join Jim and Greg as they welcome a new Harvard-Harris poll showing 80 percent of Americans support Israel against Hamas. But way too many voters aged 18-34 still think Israel is committing genocide in Gaza.

They also dig into Jim’s outstanding Morning Jolt from this morning, explaining how the Biden campaign and other Democrats are focusing the 2024 campaign on the notion that “democracy is at stake” and using it to avoid addressing many different failures of this administration.

Finally, their anger percolates as a World Economic Forum “agenda contributor” suggests drinking coffee is clearly damaging the Earth.

DeSantis Drops Out, Protesters & First Amendment Fallacies, Elites Hate Your Freedom

January 22, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “DeSantis Drops Out, Protesters & First Amendment Fallacies, Elites Hate Your Freedom” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they start the week with three bad martinis, although the last one also contains a whole lot of crazy.

The start with the inevitable but disappointing news that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is suspending his campaign. It’s hard to think of candidates with stronger conservative principles and a record of accomplishment, but there were serious flaws with the campaign and there was one simple fact DeSantis had no chance of overcoming.

They also fume as Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport sent out a tweet on Saturday warning travelers of pro-Palestinian demonstrators blocking roads around the airport. But the airport also called them a “group in vehicles exercising first amendment rights.” But that is completely untrue. So why do these radical activists not suffer any consequences?

Finally, they shudder at new polling showing that most Americans think government has too much control while the elites and Ivy League graduates overewhelmingly think there is too much individual freedom. And just wait until you hear what they advocate to fight “climate change.”

EV Drivers Left in the Cold, Biden’s Obvious Decline, The War on Rat Traps

January 19, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “EV Drivers Left in the Cold, Biden’s Obvious Decline, The War on Rat Traps” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they serve up two bad martinis and an obvious crazy one!

First, they urge states and the federal government to slam the brakes on the electric vehicle movement after the recent cold snap found EV drivers in Chicago with rapidly depleting batteries, needing to constantly spend time recharging, with some left without functioning batteries at all.

Then they offer a double-fisted bad martini as President Biden shows more evidence he’s completely unfit for the presidency. They note his bewildering statement about airstrikes on the Houthis not stopping Houthi aggression in the Red Sea but insisting the strikes would continue anyway. Then he gives a speech mentioning that he just took a photo with a local congresswoman only to remember a moment later that the lawmaker wasn’t even there.

Finally, they have fun with California Rep. Ted Lieu leading America in the charge against…glue traps to catch rodents. Jim wonders what’s really behind the legislation and the whole farce reminds them of a campaign from years ago.

Milei’s Free Market Master Class, FBI Snooping on Purchases, Speaker Johnson on Thin Ice?

January 18, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Milei’s Free Market Master Class, FBI Snooping on Purchases & Searches, Speaker Johnson on Thin Ice?” on Spreaker.

Undisputed King of Stuff, columnist, and longtime Ricochet Editor-in-Chief Jon Gabriel is in for Jim today. He and Greg have three doozies for martinis today.

First, they loudly cheer new Argentina President Javier Milei for going to the World Economic Forum in Davos and boldly championing free markets and denouncing excessive government regulation and collectivist policies. Why aren’t more American conservatives able to defend freedom and condemn government intrusion so well?

Next, they hammer the FBI for snooping on our purchases and searches (without warrants of course) and apparently determining that people who shop at Cabela’s, read the Bible, or support Donald Trump are some sort of threat.

Finally, they roll their eyes and unload on a few House Republicans for threatening to boot House Speaker Mike Johnson for agreeing to another continuing resolution on federal spending. The frustration is certainly understandable but, for multiple reasons, simple math tells us that vacating the chair won’t solve anything.
