Lefty Donors Dwindling, Plastic Bottle Ban, Senate Doesn’t Suit Fetterman

September 20, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Lefty Donors Dwindling, Plastic Bottle Ban, Senate Doesn’t Suit Fetterman” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they serve up a good martini and two crazy ones. First, they welcome the news that numerous far left organizations are folding or downsizing because their donations are drying up significantly. They also roll their eyes as Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey announces her government will no longer purchase single-use plastic bottles. Finally, Jim takes a close look at Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman and wonders whether he really wants to be in the Senate.

New Mexico Sheriff Stands Strong, Biden’s Weak 9/11, Granholm’s EV Adventure

September 12, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “New Mexico Sheriff Stands Strong, Biden’s Weak 9/11, Granholm’s EV Adventure” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for three more powerful martinis today. After chronicling Jim’s emotional roller coaster of watching his Jets lose Aaron Rodgers within four snaps and still find a way to win the game, they cheer Bernalillo County New Mexico Sheriff John Allen for calmly explaining that he will not follow Gov. Lujan-Grisham’s emergency order removing open and concealed carry rights because it is unconstitutional, does not help public safety, and only impacts law-abiding people. They also groan as Biden fails to show up to any of the 9/11 sites yesterday, lies about going to Ground Zero the day after the attacks, and then cuts a sweetheart deal giving prisoners and $6 billion in cash to Iran in exchange for American prisoners. Finally, they get a kick out of Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm embarking on an EV trip from Charlotte to Memphis to prove electric vehicles are great for road trips. But that’s not what the trip ended up proving.

Michigan Senate Hopes, Mask Wars Returning? Genetically-Modified People?

September 6, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Michigan Senate Hopes, Mask Wars Returning? Genetically-Modified People?” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they welcome former Michigan Rep. Mike Rogers to the Senate race to replace Sen. Debbie Stabenow. But they also note why this race is an uphill climb for any Republican. They also groan as the talk of COVID cases and restrictions ramps up again – including mask mandates at elementary schools. Finally, they slam and laugh at a leading bioethicist from New York University calling for genetically modifying people to be intolerant to meat as a means of supposedly combatting climate change.

Progress in Ukraine, Border Crisis Deepens, California’s Crazy Truck Rules

September 1, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Progress in Ukraine, Border Crisis Deepens, California’s Crazy Truck Rules” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they cautiously welcome news of Ukrainian progress against Russians at a key spot along the war front. They also groan as the number of families with children apprehended at the border surged in August – yet another sign that the Biden administration’s policies are nothing but a giant magnet for people to come to the U.S. illegally. Finally, they unload on California for thoroughly implausible new regulations banning diesel-powered big rigs travelling between ports starting next year in favor of electric trucks. From the length of charging time to weight restrictions to the toll on the electrical grid, the impact on trucking – and the prices you pay for goods, the expectations are completely unrealistic. Oh, and they have a few choice words for new members of Transportation Secretary’s Pete Buttigieg’s Advisory Committee on Transportation Equity who think all cars are bad and that they “perpetuate systemic racism.”

DeSantis & the Storm, Gold Star Parents & Biden, Dems Dodge Transparency

August 30, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “DeSantis & the Storm, Gold Star Parents & Biden, Dems Dodge Transparency” on Spreaker.

Ricochet.com Editor-in-Chief Jon Gabriel is in for Jim, who will return on Thursday. Today, Jon and Greg applaud the competence and preparedness of Gov. DeSantis in Florida as Hurricane Idalia comes ashore. They also note the anguish of the parents of American service members who were killed two years ago in the terrorist attack at Abbey Gate in Kabul – and their frustration at President Biden’s disastrous policies and his callous treatment of them ever since. Finally, they highlight a lawsuit in Michigan after an email about the 2021 Benton Harbor water crisis was written with Greek letters to avoid showing up in a Freedom of Information request. And it was written that way because it suggested the government was caught flat-footed on the crisis.

Timestamps:

0:39 – Hurricane Idalia hits Florida and the state preparedness seems to be excellent yet again.

6:53 – Parents of service members killed in the Abbey Gate terrorist attack express their anguish and their frustration with Biden and his administration.

14:17 – Energy consultant for Michigan Gov. Whitmer accused of hiding his email from Freedom of Information requests by using Greek letters to share bad news about a water crisis.

Dems’ 2024 Dilemma, Ceiling Fan Wars, Biden’s Media Enablers

August 28, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Dems’ 2024 Dilemma, Ceiling Fan Wars, Biden’s Media Enablers” on Spreaker.

Ricochet Editor-in-Chief Jon Gabriel is in for Jim. Today, Jon and Greg examine new polls showing more than three-quarters of Americans and nearly 70 percent of Democrats think Joe Biden is too old to be president for another four years. So do the Dems roll the dice on Biden anyway and hope Trump is even less popular? Do they push Biden out ad gamble on Kamala Harris? Or do they find someone else entirely? They also groan as the Biden Energy Department demands changes to make ceiling fans more energy efficient. But the laughably minimal energy savings will be dwarfed by the $86.6 million per year that manufacturers will need to spend to comply with the new rules. Finally, they cringe as the Biden administration clearly plants a question with compliant reporter about COVID and both the reporter and Biden make the ruse painfully obvious. Finally, they remember Joe Wurzelbacher, better known as “Joe the Plumber,” whom the media went after with full venom because he dared to challenge Barack Obama about tax policies during the 2008 campaign.

Timestamps:

1:03 – Overwhelming majority of Americans think Biden is too old for another term.

8:58 – Biden administration’s war on ceiling fans

15:44 – Media’s pathetic enabling of Biden

19:04 – Remembering “Joe the Plumber” and the media’s horrific treatment of him.

Trump Booked, Toxic Paper Straws, Hiring Discrimination Suits, NY Begs for Migrant Aid

August 25, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Trump Booked, Toxic Paper Straws, Hiring Discrimination Suits, NY Begs for Migrant Aid” on Spreaker.

Hillsdale College Radio General Manager and Radio Free Hillsdale Hour Host Scot Bertram is in for Jim. Today, Scot and Greg discuss a new study showing toxic chemicals are used to repel water in most paper and bamboo straws. They also dive into two curious employment discrimination suits: five current and former Gannett newspaper employees charge the organization with policies that discriminate against white employees. And the Justice Department is suing Elon Musk’s SpaceX for not hiring alleged refugees and asylum seekers and only hiring U.S. citizens or legal residents.  Finally, they sigh as New York Gov. Kathy Hochul follows the nonsensical lead of Massachusetts and demands federal aid for housing, education, and health care while also urging expedited work authorization. Scot and Greg point out that will only create a bigger stampede of people trying to enter the U.S. illegally.
Timestamps:
1:10 – Trump booked in Atlanta.
4:32 – Study shows toxic chemicals are found in many paper straws
11:53 – Gannett sued for discriminating against white people. DOJ sues SpaceX for not hiring people claiming to be refugees or seeking asylum.
18:23 – New York Gov. Hochul begs Biden for federal aid to subsidize housing, education, and health care for people who came to the U.S. illegally and ended up in New York.

Radical ‘Green’ Goals, America’s Deep Pessimism, Record Drug Use & Drinking

August 23, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Radical ‘Green’ Goals, America’s Deep Pessimism, Record Drug Use & Drinking” on Spreaker.

Hillsdale College Radio General Manager and Radio Free Hillsdale Hour Host Scot Bertram is in for Jim. After a quick GOP debate preview, Scot and Greg tackle three heavy issues. First, they highlight a progressive cities climate group that admits it wants to end meat and dairy consumption and private vehicle ownership – preferably by the end of this decade. They also want drastic reductions in clothes purchases and air travel, and 14 U.S. cities have already signed on to this global initiative. They also dissect a new poll showing 56 percent of Republicans and 20 percent of Democrats think our nation is in danger of failing and discuss why that’s the case. Finally, they shudder at a new report from the University of Michigan showing huge increases in binge drinking and marijuana use among Americans aged 35-50. And the numbers among younger adults is pretty bad too.

Timestamps:

0:58 – Previewing Wednesday’s GOP presidential debate

3:11 – New global progressive cities climate group admits radical ‘green’ goals on meat and dairy consumption, private vehicle ownership and much more.

10:42 – New York Times poll shows 37 percent of Americans and 56 percent of Republicans think the U.S. is in danger of failing.

18:20 – University of Michigan survey shows record binge drinking and marijuana use among Americans aged 35-50. And one in ten young adults use marijuana every day.

‘Manufactured’ Climate Crisis, Another Massive Deficit, Deutsch’s Trump Delusion

August 11, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “‘Manufactured’ Climate Crisis, Another Massive Deficit, Deutsch’s Trump Delusion” on Spreaker.

Ricochet.com Editor-in-Chief Jon Gabriel is in for Jim. Today, Jon and Greg welcome the story of climate scientist Judith Curry, who confirms that the scientific “consensus” on climate change is a “manufactured consensus.” They also get a good laugh out of the proposal from Pacific Gas & Electric to stabilize California’s energy grid. Then they blast both parties as the annual deficit is already more than $1.6 trillion with two more months to go. Finally, they document the hysteria on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” as Donny Deutsch contends that “everything will end” and freedom will end” if Donald Trump wins in 2024.
Timestamps:
2:15 – Climate scientist Judith Curry explains how she discovered the scientific “consensus” on climate science was a “manufactured crisis.”
8:29 – The U.S. deficit for Fiscal Year 2024 is already more than $1.6 trillion with two more months to go.
14:39 – Donny Deutsch tells “Morning Joe” that “everything will end” and “freedom will end” if Trump wins in 2024.

Solar Panel Surprise, The Migrant Emergency, Subway’s Name Change Game

August 9, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Solar Panel Surprise, The Migrant Emergency, Subway’s Name Change Game” on Spreaker.

Hillsdale College Radio General Manager and Radio Free Hillsdale Hour Host Scot Bertram is in for Jim today. Join Scot and Greg as they dig into an Italian study showing solar panels generate far more carbon dioxide than natural gas, and that the United Nations never took Chinese statistics into account – even though it produces 80 percent of solar panels. They also sigh as Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey announces a state of emergency due to the number of migrants pouring into her state. But instead of blaming the issue on the Biden administration’s porous border or refusal to deport, she chalks it up to the government being too slow to approve work authorization for the migrants. Finally, they end on a lighter note by discussing the promotion from the Subway sandwich chain that will land the winner $50,000 in Subway gift cards in exchange for changing their name to Subway.
