Massive Immigrant Shift to GOP, Organized Chaos in LA, Hawley’s Wage Hike Plan

June 10, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “Massive Immigrant Shift to GOP, Organized Chaos in LA, Hawley’s Wage Hike Plan” on Spreaker.

Inez Stepman of the Independent Women’s Forum fills in for Jim today on 3 Martini Lunch. Join Inez and Greg as they review a CNN poll showing immigrant voters shifting significantly to the GOP, address the clear organization present in the LA riots, and ponder the effects of Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley’s call for a minimum wage hike.

First, Inez and Greg analyze new CNN polling that shows a dramatic 40-point swing toward Republican immigration policies among legal immigrant voters over the past four years. Inez adamantly presents the recent situation with the LA riots as a prime example of why people do not trust leftist immigration policy.

Next, they examine the LA riots as a return to coordinated, violent left-wing activism. Inez also explains the distorted logic behind the rioters waving Mexican flags. And they marvel at how many people on the left and beyond openly admit they don’t want federal immigration laws enforced.

Finally, they unpack Sen. Josh Hawley’s proposal to raise the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour through his “Higher Wages for American Workers Act.” Greg argues the plan ignores basic economic principles, while Inez notes many employers already offer similar wages. She says the real danger lies in Hawley’s support for the PRO Act, which could reduce flexibility for freelancers and remote workers.

Jim and Greg’s Political Spring Cleaning: The Policies and Politicians We Want to Throw Out

April 18, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “Jim and Greg’s Political Spring Cleaning: The Policies and Politicians We Want to Throw Out” on Spreaker.

Jim and Greg are off for Good Friday but they’ve also been busy lately doing some spring cleaning—but not around the house. Greg is tossing out outdated policies, messages, and organizations, while Jim is ready to send a few politicians packing.

First, Greg targets the type of taxes he finds most infuriating. He’s not a fan of any taxes but there’s one he finds particularly burdensome and fundamentally unfair. Jim, meanwhile, celebrates the quiet departure of a Republican who dominated headlines late last year but is now largely forgotten—and not missed.

Next, Greg shifts his focus to education, identifying a major obstacle to our schools that, if eliminated, would greatly benefit students and restore academic integrity. Jim highlights a once-promising politician who failed to deliver, faced numerous legal issues, and appears headed for a huge political defeat this year.

Finally, Greg turns to the lighter side and takes aim at some of the most irritating TV commercials. While he is a huge fan of free speech, Greg explains why these ads are especially grating and need to go. Jim reflects on a political figure who has already stepped away from the spotlight—but wonders how long before he fades from public view altogether.

Trump Targets Federal Bureaucracy, Columbia in Chaos, Simple Gratitude Sparks Outrage

March 31, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “Trump Targets Federal Bureaucracy, Columbia in Chaos, Simple Gratitude Sparks Outrage” on Spreaker.

Inez Stepman of the Independent Women’s Forum fills in for Jim today on 3 Martini Lunch Join Inez and Greg as they break down President Trump’s executive order ending collective bargaining for federal employees in key national security roles, the escalating turmoil at Columbia University, and the backlash Inez faced online for simply expressing gratitude for her husband.

First, Inez explains why Trump’s order removing collective bargaining for federal employees at the Pentagon, State Department, Homeland Security, EPA, and other agencies is long overdue. She argues that as head of the executive branch, the president should have the authority to determine who works for him. Inez also highlights the absurd difficulty of firing even the worst-performing federal employees under the current system.

Next, they examine the latest controversy at Columbia University, where President Trump pushed for action against rampant anti-Semitism on campus. Interim President Katrina Armstrong reportedly agreed to Trump’s demands to secure $430 million in federal grants but has now resigned amid faculty backlash. Inez shares why it’s absurd that Columbia gets so much taxpayer money in the first place and how the school now finds intself in a tight political spot.

Finally, Inez became the center of a social media storm after tweeting her appreciation for her husband taking care of their baby when Inez wasn’t feeling well. The post triggered outrage, with critics arguing men shouldn’t be thanked for basic parenting duties. Inez responds to the backlash and explores why her simple expression of gratitude sparked such intense reactions, particularly among women.

Bezos’ Pro-Freedom Op-Ed Page, Dems’ Immigrant Hypocrisy, Media’s Inflation Double Standard

February 27, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “Bezos’ Pro-Freedom Op-Ed Page, Dems’ Immigrant Hypocrisy, Media’s Inflation Double Standard” on Spreaker.

Hillsdale College Radio General Manager and Radio Free Hillsdale Hour Host Scot Bertram fills in for Jim on 3 Martini Lunch. Join Scot and Greg as they discuss Jeff Bezos’ pledge to make The Washington Post’s op-ed page a champion of personal and economic freedom, the blatant hypocrisy of Democrats on immigration, and the media’s shifting narrative on inflation.

First, they cautiously welcome Bezos’ public commitment to discussing the virtues of personal liberty and free markets. While they dislike his stance that opposing views won’t be featured, they appreciate that arguments for limited government will reach a wider audience.

Next, they highlight the astonishing hypocrisy of congressional Democrats. After years of condemning Trump’s deportation policies, they’ve suddenly found an immigrant they don’t trust. Ohio Rep. Marcy Kaptur is now questioning Elon Musk’s loyalty to the U.S. because he’s only been in the country for 22 years.

Finally, they call out the media’s sudden concern over rising egg prices after years of downplaying inflation under Biden. While they agree Trump isn’t responsible for the cost of eggs, they note voters will soon demand real results from him on both food prices and overall inflation.

Trump’s Strong Polls, Trump’s Concerning Labor Nominee, Super Bowl Spectacle

February 10, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “Trump’s Strong Polls, Trump’s Concerning Labor Nominee, Super Bowl Spectacle” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for 3 Martini Lunch as they analyze strong CBS poll numbers for President Trump, his controversial Labor Secretary pick, and their thoughts on Super Bowl LIX.

First, they react to President Trump’s positive poll numbers just three weeks into his term. Face the Nation host Margaret Brennan appeared less than pleased to report Trump’s 53% approval rating and that 70% of Americans believe he’s keeping his promises. They discuss how future polling will depend on Trump’s handling of unexpected events and argue that the media’s relentless negativity isn’t swaying public opinion much at all.

Next, they examine the push to derail Trump’s Labor Secretary pick, former Oregon Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer. The National Right to Work Committee warns that she backs the PRO Act, which would ban the right to work without union membership and severely impact freelancers. They also question whether this nomination is a reward for some labor unions refusing Kamala Harris or whether Trump is shifting his stance on labor policy. But in all honesty, blocking this nomination will be very difficult.

Finally, they break down Super Bowl LIX—from the Philadelphia Eagles’ dominant win over the Kansas City Chiefs to commercials. Plus, Jim explains the not-so-subtle messaging inside Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show while Greg wishes there wasn’t a halftime show at all.

Manchin & Sinema Sink Key Nomination, Russia Mocks Melania, Warren’s Wearisome Radicalism

December 12, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Manchin & Sinema Sink Key Nomination, Russia Mocks Melania, Warren’s Wearisome Radicalism” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they discuss defiant Senate votes from Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema, the Russian media’s scandalous response to Trump’s victory, and Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s controversial reaction to the murder of UnitedHealth CEO Brian Thompson.

First, they thoroughly enjoy watching Manchin and Sinema derail a key Biden nominee to the National Labor Relations Board, as the Democrats attempted to block the GOP from having a majority on that panel for another two years. Did the Democrats really expect them to rubber stamp the Biden-Schumer agenda after being demonized by the left for refusing to kill the filibuster?

Next, Jim and Greg react to Russian state-run television’s inappropriate coverage of Donald Trump’s victory, airing racy modeling photos of Melania Trump from 25 years ago. They analyze why the Russians adopted an antagonistic stance towards Trump and question what response they hope to provoke from him.

Finally, Jim and Greg criticize Senator Elizabeth Warren’s cold reaction to the murder of UnitedHealth CEO Brian Thompson, followed by her intense rant against health insurance companies. Jim explains how Warren’s behavior and political approach contributed to the Democrats’ losses in the November elections.

Trump’s Controversial Cabinet Picks, GOP’s Tight House Majority, State Dept.’s ‘Cry Sessions’

November 25, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Trump’s Controversial Cabinet Picks, GOP’s Tight House Majority, State Dept.’s ‘Cry Sessions'” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg on 3 Martini Lunch as they break down two bad martinis and a crazy one to kick off the week. They dig into two controversial Trump cabinet picks, a razor-thin GOP House majority, and the State Department’s taxpayer-funded therapy sessions after Trump’s win.

First, they assess Trump’s latest cabinet picks, praising Russ Vought for Office of Management and Budget and Dr. Marty Makary for the Food and Drug Administration, while expressing major concerns about Lori Chavez-DeRemer as Secretary of Labor due to her anti-Right to Work stance and Scott Bessent for Treasury, given his ties to George Soros.

Next, they analyze the very narrow House Republican majority in the coming Congress, with three races still unresolved and three looming GOP vacancies. They explain why this slim margin leaves little room for defections or other unexpected setbacks over the next two years.

Finally, they react to reports of the State Department hosting therapy sessions, including a “cry session,” for employees struggling to cope with Trump’s victory—on the taxpayers’ dime. Jim calls for lefties to gain a little perspective on dealing with election results, while Greg suggests clearing out partisan bureaucrats in supposedly neutral roles.

Brilliant Israeli Tactics & Incoming Iranian Missiles, Longshoremen Go on Strike, Vance vs. Walz

October 1, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Brilliant Israeli Tactics & Incoming Iranian Missiles, Longshoremen Go on Strike, Vance vs. Walz” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they marvel at more reported genius from Israeli intelligence and brace for Iranian missile strikes in retaliation. They also slam the outrageous demands of the striking longshoreman’s union and preview tonight’s vice presidential debate.
First, they thorough enjoy reports that Iran’s secret service created a unit to target and kill Mossad agents in Iran. But it failed because an undercover Mossad agent ended up leading the effort and populating the group with other Mossad operatives. However, they’re also paying close attention as Israel braces for an Iranian missile attack in retaliation for Israel’s very successful strikes vs. Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Houthis in Yemen.
Then, they focus much closer to home as the International Longshoreman’s Association goes on strike at every U.S. port on the Atlantic coast and along the Gulf of Mexico. They’re furious at the economic impact that all of us could suffer because of the union’s outrageous demands and President Biden’s refusal to actually be a leader.
Finally, they preview tonight’s vice presidential debate between JD Vance and Tim Walz. Jim expects Vance to do well tonight and wonders whether this event will be further evidence that choosing Walz was a massive mistake by Kamala Harris.

Trump & the Teamsters, Iran Envoy’s Clearance Chaos, Pelosi Saya Kamala Won Open Primary

September 19, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Trump & the Teamsters, Iran Envoy’s Clearance Chaos, Pelosi Saya Kamala Won Open Primary” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they react to Donald Trump dominating the vote among Teamsters Union members but the union refusing to offer any endorsement, the State Department stripping Iran envoy Robert Malley of his security clearance but never bothering to enforce it, and Nancy Pelosi insisting Kamala Harris won an open primary to become the Democrats’ nominee.

First, they highlight the dramatic shift among Teamsters Union members, who moved from favoring Joe Biden over Trump by eight points to supporting Trump over Kamala Harris by 27 points. But somehow that lopsided margin was not enough for Trump to get the endorsement. But the Teamsters also refused to endorse Harris. So did Trump’s royal treatment of the Teamsters at the RNC pay off or not?

Next, they express frustration over a State Department Inspector General’s report revealing that, even after Iran envoy Robert Malley lost his clearance, he continued to access classified information due to a lack of oversight at the highest levels. They also react to reports of Iran hacking the Trump campaign, attempting to relay sensitive information to Biden and Harris.

Finally, they roll their eyes at Nancy Pelosi’s assertion that Kamala Harris won an open primary to replace Biden as the Democratic nominee. Jim has some choice words in response to that and has fun with Pelosi claiming that Biden is the most consequential president in modern history.

Paging Hezbollah, Hillary Demands More Anti-Trump Media, Are Teamsters Two-Timing Trump?

September 17, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Paging Hezbollah, Hillary Demands More Anti-Trump Media, Are Teamsters Two-Timing Trump?” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they discuss many Hezbollah figures being injured by exploding pagers, Hillary Clinton demanding a more negative media “narrative” about Donald Trump, and the Teamsters Union on the brink of an endorsement.

First, they marvel once again at the ingenuity of (probably) Israeli operatives getting explosives into pagers, the pagers into the hands of thousands of Hezbollah figures, and then detonating them simultaneously. It’s the latest in a very creative summer for Israeli intelligence…or whoever carried out these attacks.

Next, they groan as Hillary Clinton is back in public demanding the media carry out a more “consistent narrative” of how “dangerous” Donald Trump is and the threat he allegedly poses to the country and the world. She also continues to blame her 2016 loss to Trump on Russian disinformation. And in addition to confronting international political mischief, Hillary also called for civil and criminal prosecution for Americans found disseminating what she considers misinformation or disinformation.

Finally, they shake their heads at the apparent likelihood that the Teamsters Union will offer an endorsement this week and that Kamala Harris seems more likely to get the nod based on what union boss Sean O’Brien is saying. If that happens, Jim says Republicans should learn a big lesson from handing over a critical hour on the first night of the convention to a guy who bashed right to work and business leaders.
