More Biden Revelations, Social Security for Illegals? Trump Targets Drug Costs, RFK’s Curious Swim

May 13, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “More Biden Revelations, Social Security for Illegals? Trump Targets Drug Costs, RFK’s Curious Swim” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for 3 Martini Lunch as they consider the latest revelations in the Biden coverup, the Department of Homeland Security investigating whether officials in California funneled Social Security benefits to illegals, President Trump’s executive order demanding huge drops in prescription drug prices, and Health and Human Services Sec. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.’s controversial weekend swim.

First, they offer a quick reaction to the revelation that Joe Biden’s inner circle was hiding his cognitive decline – even from his own staff. They also rebuff Kamala Harris campaign strategist David Plouffe, who largely blames Biden for Kamala’s loss.

Then it’s on to the martinis, beginning with a new Department of Homeland Security investigation into whether Los Angeles County officials provided federal benefits, including Social Security, to people in the country illegally through California’s Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants. Jim also questions why California maintains a program that gives taxpayer money to non-citizens, including illegal immigrants.

Next, they assess President Trump’s new executive order directing drug companies to slash prescription prices by 50–80 percent for U.S. consumers. While they agree Americans pay far more than people in other countries, they warn that government-mandated price ceilings could lead to drug shortages. Jim and Greg then consider some more market-friendly ways to bring these costs down. Finally, they scratch their heads at the news that Health and Human Services Sec. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. went swimming with his grandkids in Washington’s Rock Creek this past weekend, since authorities have long warned that the creek’s bacteria levels make it unsafe for people or pets to enter the water.

Columbia Cracks Down, Bernie’s Brazen Hypocrisy, Biden Blames Sexism & Racism for Kamala’s Loss

May 8, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “Columbia Cracks Down, Bernie’s Brazen Hypocrisy, Biden Blames Sexism & Racism for Kamala’s Loss” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for Wednesday’s 3 Martini Lunch as they break down Columbia University’s improved handling of anti-Israel demonstrators, Bernie Sanders’ laughable defense of private jet travel, and Joe Biden’s worn-out excuses for why Kamala Harris lost to President Trump in 2024.

First, they blast the chaos at Columbia’s Butler Library, where pro-Hamas protesters disrupted students preparing for finals. But Jim and Greg give credit to the NYPD for requiring students to identify themselves before exiting and to the acting university president for offering one of the strongest administrative condemnations yet of these campus takeovers.

Next, they shake their heads in amazement as Sen. Bernie Sanders says he needs to travel on private planes for his “Fighting Oligarchy Tour.” Sanders says it’s absurd to expect him to stand in line at airports like everyone else. Jim and Greg compare Sanders’ hypocrisy to globe-trotting climate activists who, also use private jets, and insist they’re above the rules they champion.

Finally, they’re glad to see Joe Biden is still alive based on his appearance today on The View. But Biden’s pathetic suggestions that racism and sexism are responsible for Kamala Harris losing in 2024 are really getting old. They also point out that Harris likely tanked her own campaign because of an appearance on The View in October. And Jim cites recent revelations about Biden’s inner circle reportedly trashing her to donors behind the scenes while trying to salvage his campaign.

NYT’s Unobscured Trump Attack, Trump Wants to Reopen Alcatraz, The Obamas’ Endless Whining

May 5, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “NYT’s Unobscured Trump Attack, Trump Wants to Reopen Alcatraz, The Obamas’ Endless Whining” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for Tuesday’s 3 Martini Lunch as they dig into the New York Times’ latest attempt to undermine President Trump and congressional Republicans, Trump’s push to reopen Alcatraz as a federal prison, and Michelle Obama’s newest, tiresome complaints about life in the White House.

First, they tear into the New York Times for framing the Congressional Review Act (CRA) as an “obscure” tool possibly being misused by Republicans to undo Biden-era regulations. The article warns readers that opponents can’t filibuster CRA rollbacks—something the left suddenly finds troubling now that Republicans control Congress. Jim dismantles the Times’ arguments, defends Trump’s use of the CRA, and calls out the media’s hypocritical coverage of these tactics.

Next, they react to President Trump’s call to reopen Alcatraz as a prison for the nation’s most dangerous criminals. He also hints at sending criminal illegals there, blaming judges “that are afraid to do their job and allow us to remove criminals.” Jim and Greg aren’t sure that specifically rebuilding Alcatraz is the answer, but they do like the like of sending our worst criminals top laces that will be remote and will become synonymous with a thoroughly miserable experience for the inmates. And some of their ideas for how to do this are out of this world.

Finally, they roll their eyes at Michelle Obama’s latest White House grievances—this time about paying for their own private meals and also travel for their children when the president wasn’t with them. Jim and Greg are tired of how the Obamas continue to portray themselves as victims while enjoying elite status—but are enjoy seeing how their political influence continues to fade within the Democratic Party.

Special Election Split, Booker’s Marathon Speech, Becerra vs. Kamala in California?

April 2, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “Special Election Split, Booker’s Marathon Speech, Becerra vs. Kamala in California?” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg on 3 Martini Lunch as they break down GOP victories in two Florida House special elections, a tough Republican loss in Wisconsin’s Supreme Court race, Sen. Cory Booker’s 25-hour filibuster, and a potential 2026 California governor’s race showdown between two Biden administration alumni.
First, they’re relieved to see Republicans comfortably hold both open House seats in Florida. However, they wince as Democrats celebrate an easy win in Wisconsin’s Supreme Court race, securing a liberal majority. While the left downplays the Florida results, Jim and Greg remind listeners that Democrats previously claimed they had a shot at flipping at least one seat. Meanwhile, Republicans must learn key lessons from Wisconsin ahead of the midterms.Next, they analyze New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker’s record-breaking 25-hour floor speech, which was long but was not aimed at blocking any legislation or nomination. While Democrats and the media hype it as energizing for their base, it’s long term impact is likely minimal at best. Jim and Greg do marvel at Booker’s endurance and explain why he will probably benefit from this more than anyone.

Finally, they examine former Health and Human Services Sec. Xavier Becerra’s entry into the 2026 California governor’s race. While some candidates say they would defer if former Vice President Kamala Harris entered the race, Becerra insists he’s staying in. Does this signal Harris won’t run? Or could it set up a fierce showdown between former Biden administration allies?

DNC Debate Disaster, The Potomac Crash Blame Game, Gabbard on the Hot Seat

January 31, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “DNC Debate Disaster, The Potomac Crash Blame Game, Gabbard on the Hot Seat” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg on this episode of the 3 Martini Lunch as they dive into a chaotic Democratic National Committee chairman debate, the political finger-pointing following the deadly Potomac crash, and Tulsi Gabbard’s contentious confirmation hearings to become Director of National Intelligence.

First, they analyze the delightfully disastrous DNC chairman debate, where every candidate seems to have missed the lessons of the 2024 election. Each candidate for DNC chairman agreed that racism and misogyny were key factors in Kamala Harris losing the election. If that weren’t enough, the forum was also repeatedly interrupted by demonstrators accusing Democrats of being too cozy with Big Oil.

Next, they discuss the immediate blame game following the tragic midair collision between a regional airliner and a U.S. Army Blackhawk helicopter. Jim and Greg express frustration as both sides of the aisle politicize the disaster—Democrats blame Trump for firing the head of TSA and other officials, while Trump points to Biden-era DEI policies at the FAA. Jim and Greg agree that prioritizing DEI for those positions is dangerous but wonder why Trump was pushing that issue right away without public evidence that it was a factor in this case.

Finally, they examine Tulsi Gabbard’s confirmation hearing for Director of National Intelligence. Jim highlights her recent shift on several key issues, ranging from Trump’s strike on Soleimani to Edward Snowden. However, they agree that significant changes are necessary in U.S. intelligence leadership after years of partisanship and disinformation, particularly from figures like James Clapper and John Brennan.

Paging Hezbollah, Hillary Demands More Anti-Trump Media, Are Teamsters Two-Timing Trump?

September 17, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Paging Hezbollah, Hillary Demands More Anti-Trump Media, Are Teamsters Two-Timing Trump?” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they discuss many Hezbollah figures being injured by exploding pagers, Hillary Clinton demanding a more negative media “narrative” about Donald Trump, and the Teamsters Union on the brink of an endorsement.

First, they marvel once again at the ingenuity of (probably) Israeli operatives getting explosives into pagers, the pagers into the hands of thousands of Hezbollah figures, and then detonating them simultaneously. It’s the latest in a very creative summer for Israeli intelligence…or whoever carried out these attacks.

Next, they groan as Hillary Clinton is back in public demanding the media carry out a more “consistent narrative” of how “dangerous” Donald Trump is and the threat he allegedly poses to the country and the world. She also continues to blame her 2016 loss to Trump on Russian disinformation. And in addition to confronting international political mischief, Hillary also called for civil and criminal prosecution for Americans found disseminating what she considers misinformation or disinformation.

Finally, they shake their heads at the apparent likelihood that the Teamsters Union will offer an endorsement this week and that Kamala Harris seems more likely to get the nod based on what union boss Sean O’Brien is saying. If that happens, Jim says Republicans should learn a big lesson from handing over a critical hour on the first night of the convention to a guy who bashed right to work and business leaders.

A Winsome Campaign Kickoff, Previewing the Trump-Harris Debate, Lefties Mad at Taylor Swift

September 10, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “A Winsome Campaign Kickoff, Previewing the Trump-Harris Debate, Lefties Mad at Taylor Swift” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they get you ready for tonight’s presidential debate, discuss how the 2025 Virginia governor’s race is already shaping up, and sigh as activists on the left are getting frustrated that pop star Taylor Swift has not yet endorsed Kamala Harris.

First, they highlight Virginia Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears officially kicking off her run for governor next year. It’s a tough state, sorry, commonwealth, for the GOP to win in and a rough primary could make it even tougher. Jim urges Virginia Republicans to avoid an intraparty bloodbath if at all possible. Sears is very clearly running as a continuation of the “common sense conservatism” of popular GOP Gov. Glenn Youngkin, who is term limited.

Next, they dig into what to expect in tonight’s first (and possibly only) presidential debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris. They consider how Harris will deal with questions about her supposedly changing positions on a wide variety of issues – changes that tack away from her far left views from the 2020 campaign. They also consider which tactics might be employed by both candidates to throw the other one off message and what to expect from the ABC News moderators this evening.

Then, they try to shake it off over lefties developing bad blood with Taylor Swift over her failure to publicly endorse Kamala Harris thus far in the campaign. Will Swift fall in line by the end of this cruel summer or will she be an anti-hero for the Democrats all the way to Election Day? Either way, Jim says this is taking the connection between celebrities and politics to a new, unhealthy level, where failure to get politically involved is now demonized.

Finally, they offer a short tribute to acting legend James Earl Jones, who died on Monday.

Walz & the Fawning Media, Walz’s COVID Snitch Line, Plastic Bag Ban ‘Do Over’

August 7, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Walz & the Fawning Media, Walz’s COVID Snitch Line, Plastic Bag Ban ‘Do Over'” on Spreaker.

Hillsdale College Radio General Manager and Radio Free Hillsdale Hour Host Scot Bertram is in for Jim. Today, after a quick update on baseball and another member of “The Squad” losing to a fellow Democrat, Scot and Greg groan over the media’s predictable infatuation with Tim Walz, detail just how draconian Walz was in his COVID lockdown enforcement, and how California’s plastic bag ban led to way more plastic bag trash.

First, they roll their eyes as the mainstream media not only carry the Democrats’ narrative on Tim Walz but they all immediately start using the term “folksy” to describe him. The shameless obedience to the left’s talking points is hardly a surprise but the contrast with how reporters characterized JD Vance a few weeks ago is rather stark.

Next, they dig into just how authoritarian Gov. Walz was in Minnesota during his aggressive COVID lockdowns – including how his government set up a snitch line so that people throughout the state could rat out their neighbors for such reckless behavior as walking their dog, playing basketball, and trying the keep their business open.

Finally, they get a kick out of lefties in California wanting a “do over” on a plastic bag ban after the first one led to a massive increase in the amount of plastic bags in the trash.

How Haniyeh Was Killed, Russia Prisoner Swap, 9/11 Plea Deal, Trump Fumbles on Race

August 1, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “How Haniyeh Was Killed, Russia Prisoner Swap, 9/11 Plea Deal, Trump Fumbles on Race” on Spreaker.

It’s four martinis for the price of three today as Jim and Greg unpack the latest details in the killing of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh, the prisoner swap with Russia that freed two Americans, the government striking a plea bargain with 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, and Donald Trump focusing on Kamala’s race instead of her train wreck of a record.

First, they enjoy learning how Haniyeh was killed by a bomb planted months earlier and detonated remotely. It seems to point more clearly to an Israeli operation and a massive, embarrassing failure for the Iranian government and especially its terrorist arm, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.

Next, they’re thrilled to hear Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich and fellow American Paul Whelan are being released by Russia. What reports don’t tell us yet is who or what the U.S. is giving Russia in return. And given the Obama-Biden track record on lopsided prisoner swaps, that’s an important question.

Then, they groan as the U.S. government strikes a plea deal with Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and two other 9/11 conspirators. The agreement removes the possibility of capital punishment for any of them. 9/11 survivors and family members are not happy. And while Jim and Greg understand there’s a slight possibility of these terrorists revealing more than they already have, it’s hard to imagine anyone more deserving of death then they are.

Finally, Jim unloads on Donald Trump for wondering when Kamala Harris decided she was black because he says she spent much of her life identifying with her Indian heritage. Not only does that moment give Harris a chance to go on offense, but it shows Trump getting distracted from going after the endless political liabilities Harris brings into this campaign.

Dems Still Stuck, Biden’s Gaffes & Gaslighting, RNC’s Regrettable Guest Speaker

July 12, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Dems Still Stuck, Biden’s Gaffes & Gaslighting, RNC’s Regrettable Guest Speaker” on Spreaker.

Today, Jim and Greg discuss President Biden’s press conference last night and how Democrats are still twisting in the wind. They also highlight Biden’s embarrassing verbal fumbles. And they weigh in on the news that former stripper and Kanye West girlfriend Amber Rose will speak at the Republican National Convention.

They begin with an overview of the press conference. Jim notes that while it was not bad by Biden standards, that still does not make it remotely good.

Next, they highlight some of Biden’s worst gaffes from the conference, including referring to President Zelensky as President Putin and to VP Kamala Harris as “Vice President Trump.” Greg notes Biden’s horribly revionist view of the economy and his ongoing demonization if Israel. Jim says Dems should be shuddering over Biden’s statement that he would refuse to step down even if the polls hypothetically showed that Kamala Harris was more likely to beat Trump than him.

Finally, they lament the Republican National Convention’s unfortunate speaker choice of Amber Rose, an ex-stripper who dated Kanye West and has several other tawdry items on her resume. Jim wonders whose idea it was to pick Rose, observing that this decision makes the RNC seem desperate for anyone remotely famous.
