Warren Caught in Biden Lies, Leftist DA Won’t Charge Tesla Vandal, Schwab’s WEF Scandal

April 23, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “Warren Caught in Biden Lies, Leftist DA Won’t Charge Tesla Vandal, Schwab’s WEF Scandal” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for Tuesday’s 3 Martini Lunch as they have a great time breaking down a series of jaw-dropping stories. They dig into Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s awkward admission about Biden’s mental decline, a far-left Minnesota prosecutor refusing to charge a leftist state employee who seriously vandalized numerous Teslas, and explosive allegations that Klaus Schwab grossly misused World Economic Forum resources. Plus, they uncover a Die Hard connection to another of the day’s biggest stories.

First, they thoroughly enjoy watching a progressive podcast host grill Sen. Warren over her insistence that she didn’t notice signs of President Biden’s cognitive struggles before last year’s debate. Warren ultimately tried to deflect, but Jim and Greg explain why this backpedaling will haunt Democrats and the media for a long time.

Next, they’re stunned by prosecutor Mary Moriarty’s refusal to press charges against Dylan Adams, a Minnesota state employee accused of deliberately vandalizing six Teslas—causing $20,000 in damage. Adams will face no jail time and even gets to keep his government job.  Jim notes the frustration of local police and the damage done when intentionally criminal behavior is swept under the rug due to politics.

Then, they dive into the allegations against outgoing World Economic Forum leader Klaus Schwab and his wife, who are accused of stealing substantial funds from the WEF and taking over a luxury property owned by the organization during COVID lockdowns.

Christmas Encore: Three Martinis with Robert Davi

December 25, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Christmas Encore: Three Martinis with Robert Davi” on Spreaker.

Merry Christmas from all of us at 3 Martini Lunch! Today, we want to talk politics and celebrate the greatest Christmas movie of all time, which is, of course, Die Hard. So please enjoy our September conversation with actor and director Robert Davi.

Jim and Greg welcome acclaimed actor, director, and singer Robert Davi to sip three martinis. Today, they discuss Davi’s role in the recent biopic of Ronald Reagan, what it’s like for him as a conservative in Hollywood, and his unforgettable performance as Special Agent Johnson in Die Hard.

First, they discuss how Davi got involved in the Reagan movie project nine years ago and how he deeply researched his role as former Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev. Davi also explains why he wanted to be part of the film, how Reagan fought communism in Hollywood and more.

Next, Davi shares what it’s like to be a conservative in Hollywood and how becoming more publicly supportive of conservatives and Republicans curiously coincided with a sudden decrease in opportunities to act and direct. He also takes us inside his recent film, My Son Hunter about Hunter Biden, the approach he took to directing it, and why many people discovered the film was far different than they expected it to be.

Finally, they spotlight Davi’s very memorable role in Die Hard and why the film endures more than most action movies. And you will not want to miss Davi’s hilarious story about watching the film for the first time alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger – complete with his perfect impression of Arnold.

Three Martinis with Robert Davi: His Role in ‘Reagan,’ Conservatives in Hollywood, ‘Die Hard’

September 9, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Three Martinis with Robert Davi: His Role in ‘Reagan,’ Conservatives in Hollywood, ‘Die Hard'” on Spreaker.

Jim and Greg welcome acclaimed actor, director, and singer Robert Davi to sip three martinis. Today, they discuss Davi’s role in the new biopic of Ronald Reagan, what it’s like for him as a conservative in Hollywood, and his unforgettable performance as Special Agent Johnson in “Die Hard.”

First, they discuss how Davi got involved in the Reagan movie project nine years ago and how he deeply researched his role as former Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev. Davi also explains why he wanted to be part of the film, how the media mocked and attacked Reagan much more at the time than they will admit now, and more.

Next, Davi shares what it’s like to be a conservative in Hollywood and how becoming more publicly supportive of conservatives and Republicans curiously coincided with a sudden decrease in opportunities to act and direct. He also takes us inside his recent film, “My Son Hunter” about Hunter Biden, the approach he took to directing it, and why many people discovered the film was far different than they expected it to be.

Then, of course, they spotlight Davi’s very memorable role in “Die Hard” and why the film endures more than most action movies. And you will not want to miss Davi’s hilarious story about watching the “Die Hard” for the first time alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger – complete with his perfect impression of Arnold.

Finally, Jim and Davi discuss their expectations for tomorrow night’s presidential debate.

Three Martinis with Tevi Troy: ‘Unprecedented’ History, Presidents vs. CEO’s, ‘Die Hard’

September 2, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Three Martinis with Tevi Troy: ‘Unprecedented’ History, Presidents vs. CEO’s, ‘Die Hard'” on Spreaker.

As America pauses for Labor Day, Jim and Greg welcome in highly respected presidential historian Tevi Troy of the Bipartisan Policy Center. His latest book is “The Power and the Money: The Epic Clashes Between Commanders in Chief and Titans of Industry.” Tevi is also a huge fan of “Die Hard,” so you know they won’t miss a chance to talk about that!

They begin by noting that Troy is well known for being the historian pouring cold water on politicians and their supporters, who are frequently and loudly insisting that whatever they are upset about is unprecedented and proof that the other side is on the brink of ruining the nation. Tevi says that over 235 years of the presidency we’ve seen a lot, and the people pulling their hair out don’t know their history and are often substituting politics for religion.

Next, they dig into Troy’s book, “The Power and the Money” and how in the span of 150 years, America went from a posture of government and business being completely separate to now being very closely intertwined and impacting our lives regularly. They explore who deserves a lot of the blame for that disturbing evolution and which historical examples best inform of us of today’s nexus between business and politics.

Finally, as promised, they close out their discussion with a deep dive into “Die Hard,” exploring why it remains a cultural phenomenon and what separate it from other great action movies. And they reflect on how it portrays institutions like the government and the media.

White House Press Office Tensions, Red China & the Red Sea, ISIS vs. Iran

January 5, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “White House Press Office Tensions, Red China & the Red Sea, ISIS vs. Iran” on Spreaker.

We’ve made it to the first Friday of 2024! And Jim and Greg are ready to serve up three martinis – right after Greg shares a fantastic ‘Die Hard’ story.

They start the martinis on the lighter side by reacting to an Axios story outlining tensions in the White House press office as Karine Jean-Pierre and John Kirby split duties in the press room and neither one is particularly is happy about it.

Then they did into Jim’s reporting on the Houthi militia causing so much havoc in the Red Sea that several major shipping companies are refusing to risk attacks and taking the long way to the west around the southern cape of Africa. This will add to the prices we pay for the goods on board. But Jim also points out that Chinese ships are getting a free pass from the terrorists into the Red Sea.

Finally, they also note this week’s ISIS terrorist attacks against Iran at the memorial service for Gen. Soleimani. The blast killed 80 people and injured more than 280 others. Jim and Greg have similar reactions to the news but offer completing ideas to how the U.S. should approach hostilities between two detestable entities.

You Ask, We Answer Part 1

July 3, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “You Ask, We Answer Part 1” on Spreaker.

Some of our favorite episodes are the ones where you ask Jim and Greg questions and they offer their takes on politics, sports, pop culture or whatever else is on your mind.
Today, they analyze why people with no chance of being elected president decide to run for the office anyway and respond to a listener who wants the people to have a say on who Jim and Greg label as the poster child for generic Republicans.
They also take on a question about how to tame the administrative state and stop unelected government bureaucrats from making rules and de facto laws. Would it help to adopt a constitutional amendment explaining that power rests only in Congress?
And of course there’s a question about “Die Hard.” Specifically, should this epic film ever be rebooted, and if so, who should direct it and star in it?
