Trump Says Houthis Standing Down, GOP’s Senate Midterm Jitters, Biden’s Painful Gaza Pier

May 7, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “Trump Says Houthis Standing Down, GOP’s Senate Midterm Jitters, Biden’s Painful Gaza Pier” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for Tuesday’s 3 Martini Lunch as they cautiously welcome reports that the Iran-backed Houthi rebels will stop attacking ships in the Red Sea. They also dig into GOP concerns over the 2026 Senate map and expose the shocking costs and failures of President Biden’s Gaza pier project.

First, they react to former President Trump announcing a suspension of U.S. military operations against the Houthis, after the group pledged to cease attacks on ships near Yemen.  Is this the result of overwhelming U.S. force, a concession by the Iranians in hopes of reaching a nuclear deal, both, or something else?

Next, they examine growing Republican anxiety about the 2026 U.S. Senate midterms. Top GOP recruits in Georgia and New Hampshire say they will not run and things look a bit shakier than expected for incumbents in three other states. So, are Republicans just overreacting or is there cause for concern?

Finally, they vent over reports that 62 U.S. service personnel were injured in various ways while assigned to construct the pier designed to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza. Adding insult to those injuries, the pier was only operational for a short time and much of the aid was stolen by terrorists and never given to the people in need.

Trump’s First 100 Days: The Good, The Bad, & The Crazy

April 25, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “Trump’s First 100 Days: The Good, The Bad, & The Crazy” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for this especial edition of the 3 Martini Lunch as they assess the first 100 days of President Trump’s new administration. What have been the biggest successes? Where has the administration stumbled? And which moments have stood out as the most crazy in these early months?

First, they highlight what they see as Trump’s top achievements so far. Jim praises Trump for dramatically reducing illegal immigration at the southern border, calling it a clear promise kept and evidence that the Biden administration could have done the same. The effort to deport criminal illegals is significant too. Greg agrees the border is the biggest win and also commends Trump for restoring cultural sanity in keeping men out of women’s sports and private changing areas, and for generally slamming the brakes on the cultural madness the Democrats have been pushing.

Next, they explain what they see as the low points of Trump’s first few months. Jim takes aim at the tariffs, the inconsistent messaging on them coming from Trump’s top advisers, and the market volatility that has ensued. Greg wants to know why Trump has signed only five bills into law when the GOP controls both the House and Senate. Why isn’t Congress doing more to move bills along on issues that the American people clearly support.

Finally, they break down the craziest moments of the first 100 days. Jim focuses on the unhinged backlash from Democrats after Chuck Schumer caved on the government funding bill. Greg notes Trump’s takeover of the Kennedy Center and gets creative in thinking about the type of show that would really please Trump.

Sen. Kennedy Diagnoses the Dems, Migrant Shelter Out of Customers, Big Drama in the Big Apple

February 18, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “Sen. Kennedy Diagnoses the Dems, Migrant Shelter Out of Customers, Big Drama in the Big Apple” on Spreaker.

Undisputed King of Stuff and Sink the Rising Sun author Jon Gabriel is in for Jim today. Join Jon and Greg as they dive into Sen. Kennedy’s hilarious but accurate diagnosis of Democrats, NGO’s running out of customers for their migrant facilities along the border, and whether New York Gov. Kathy Hochul will remove New York City Mayor Eric Adams.

First, Jon and Greg share their amusement over Louisiana Sen. John Kennedy’s insightful and often hilarious analysis of the Democratic Party’s struggles in the 2024 elections. Kennedy accurately points out why Democrats fared poorly, and both Jon and Greg believe that the DNC’s recent elections prove the party still hasn’t learned the lessons needed for future success.

Next, they welcome the news that a prominent NGO is shutting the doors of its San Diego migrant shelter because no migrants have shown up there since Trump became president. While the NGO cites Trump’s deactivation of the CBP One app, Jon and Greg suggest that tougher border policies and greater scrutiny of NGO funding are also significant factors at play.

Finally, Jon and Greg discuss the latest rumors surrounding New York Gov. Kathy Hochul and her potential removal of NYC Mayor Eric Adams from office. Democrats accuse Adams of assisting President Trump’s efforts to deport criminal illegal immigrants in exchange for Justice Department favors, Jon and Greg largely agree on what is really happening here and shudder at the thought this could all be setting up the return of Andrew Cuomo to big time New York politics.

Israel Strikes Iran, China Targets U.S. Power Grids & Water, Most Kennedys Rally for Biden

April 19, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Israel Strikes Iran, China Targets U.S. Power Grids & Water, Most Kennedys Rally for Biden” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they discuss Israel’s response to Iran, the Chinese threat to America’s critical infrastructure, and the public political fight among the Kennedys.

First, they welcome news of an Israeli military response against Iran. Details remain sketchy but it seems to be a much smaller operation than Iran launched over the weekend. So is this the end of the back-and-forth or is there more to come?
Next, they shudder as FBI Director Christopher Wray says China is actively trying to hack and disable critical U.S. infrastructure like electricity, water, and more.
Finally, they discuss most Kennedy family members endorsing President Biden over RFK, Jr. But do voters care what the Kennedys think? And what does this event tell us about how worried the Biden campaign is about RFK, Jr.?

Sen. Kennedy vs. Gun Grabbing Judge, Afghan Debacle Worse Than Thought, Defending Cannibalism?

March 21, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Sen. Kennedy vs. Gun Grabbing Judge, Afghan Debacle Worse Than Thought, Defending Cannibalism?” on Spreaker.

Undisputed King of Stuff, columnist, and longtime Ricochet Editor-in-Chief Jon Gabriel is in for Jim today. Today, Jon and Greg break down one thoroughly enjoyable congressional hearing, an utterly infuriating one, and perhaps the craziest martini of all time.

But before the martinis, they provide a brief update on Jim’s latest reporting, including the closest he’s been to intense Russian bombings in Ukraine. Thankfully, Jim is fine, but please keep praying for his safety and for the Ukrainian people.

In today’s martinis, Jon and Greg appreciate Louisiana Sen. John Kennedy’s master class in exposing President Biden’s radical judicial nominees. This week he flummoxed Judge Nancy Maldonado by highlighting her call for an assault weapons ban in a previous job and making her prove she has no idea what she means by “assault weapons.”

Next, they head to a House hearing in which former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Gen. Mark Milley admits the Taliban has butchered a good number of our Afghan allies and that he and others in the Biden administration never knew how many Americans were in Afghanistan at the time of the withdrawal debacle so they had no idea how many were still there when the military left.

They also highlight testimony from former CentCom Commander Gen. Kenneth McKenzie, who admitted, “When I received the order to withdraw the US military, I was not ordered to plan to get U.S. citizens out, our allies out, or evacuate our embassy.”

Finally, just one week after “right-wing influencers” were accused of falsely stating some Haitian gangs engaged in cannibalism (even though they were right), the push is now on to defend the hideous practice. NewScientist.com laments that in contrast to zombie movies and characters like Hannibal Lecter, “positive stories of cannibals are few and far between.” They also claim our primitive ancestors ate their dead as a sign of respect.

Sen. Manchin’s 2024 Plans, Two-Tiered Justice & the Nashville Manifesto, Media Coddle Hunter Biden

November 10, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Sen. Manchin’s 2024 Plans, Two-Tiered Justice & the Nashville Manifesto, Media Coddle Hunter Biden” on Spreaker.

Former Chief Assistant U.S. Attorney and National Review Contributing Editor Andy McCarthy is in for Jim, who will be back on Monday. Today, Andy and Greg break down West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin announcing he will not run for the U.S. Senate again in 2024 and will instead travel the nation “to see if there is interest in creating a movement to mobilize the middle.” Andy and Greg assess the impact another third party candidate might have on the outcome next year.

They also dig into the Nashville police refusing to release the manifesto from the Covenant School murderer and suspending sever officers for their alleged role in leaking a few pages from the document. Andy explain why he sees this as another maddening example of our two-tiered justice system.

Finally, they get a big laugh out of NBC trying to label Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis a hypocrite for saying politicians’ kids should be left out of political arguments because he’s publicly critical of 53-year-old Hunter Biden.

DeSantis Right on Crime, Western Water Woes, Flunking Constitution 101

January 27, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “DeSantis Right on Crime, Western Water Woes, Flunking Constitution 101” on Spreaker.

After having fun with the Associated Press war on “the,” Jim & Greg applaud Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for a 50-year low on crime and aggressive proposals to crack down on child predators and and fentanyl pushers. Jim also walks us through the major water dilemma facing western states and why government intervention is not inspiring a lot of confidence. And they shake their heads as a Biden judicial nominee can’t explain the subject of Article V or Article II of the Constitution.

Kennedy Crushes CRT, Odd Afghanistan Withdrawal, Lincoln Project Lurches Left

July 6, 2021 by GregC

Listen to “Kennedy Crushes CRT, Odd Afghanistan Withdrawal, Lincoln Project Lurches Left” on Spreaker.

Jim and Greg welcome the funny but pointed denunciation of Critical Race Theory from Lousisiana GOP Sen. John Kennedy. They also wonder why the U.S. left Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan without even telling our Afghan allies. And they roll their eyes as the Lincoln Project adds longtime Dem strategist Joe Trippi, essentially admitting it’s now nothing more than another left-wing group.

Calling Out Insane Spending, Who’s Really Coming to the Border? Politics of COVID Origins

May 27, 2021 by GregC

Listen to “Calling Out Insane Spending, Who’s Really Coming to the Border? Politics of COVID Origins” on Spreaker.

Jim and Greg cheer Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson for calling out the massive amount of deficit spending since the pandemic, how we don’t need the trillions more being pushed in Biden’s agenda, and how runaway inflation is a real danger.  He’s right, but will people listen after Republicans spent big when they had control?  They also react to a new report showing more than 33,000 people came to our southern border last month who were not from Central American countries.  And they shake their heads as NIH officials admit to Congress that the Biden administration never consulted with them before shutting down a State Department probe into the origins of the COVID pandemic.

Big Stakes in Georgia, Ticketmaster’s COVID Crackdown, Friedman’s Georgia Insanity

November 12, 2020 by GregC

Listen to “Big Stakes in Georgia, Ticketmaster’s COVID Crackdown, Friedman’s Georgia Insanity” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they discuss why it’s so critical for Republicans to win one – or preferably both – of the Georgia Senate races and Louisiana Sen. John Kennedy also distills it very well. They also recoil as Ticketmaster plans to force concertgoers to prove they’ve been vaccinated or tested negative just prior to the event. And they hammer New York Times columnist Tom Friedman for urging Democrats to move to Georgia in order to help the party win the Senate races there.
