Special Counsel Blasts Biden, Kamala’s Unimpressive Exit, Biden’s Bald-Faced Border Lies

January 14, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “Special Counsel Blasts Biden, Kamala’s Unimpressive Exit, Biden’s Bald-Faced Border Lies” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for 3 Martini Lunch as they discuss Special Counsel Robert Weiss strongly rejecting President Biden’s explanation in the Hunter Biden pardon case, Kamala’s leadership failures during her final days in office, and President Biden’s stunning lies about border security.

After a quick discussion about the start of confirmation hearings for Trump cabinet nominees, Jim and Greg praise Special Counsel Robert Weiss for his strong denunciation of President Biden’s justification for pardoning Hunter Biden. Weiss rejects Biden’s claim that Hunter was unfairly targeted due to his family ties, pointing to the fact that eight judges weighed in on the process. Weiss also says Biden was wrong to “malign the public servants at the Department of Justice.”

Next, they highlight the snub by Harris and Doug Emhoff, who refused to invite Vice President-Elect JD Vance and his wife, Usha, to tour the vice president’s residence at the U.S. Naval Observatory. Additionally, Jim questions Harris’s absence during the wildfire crisis in California – hardly the approach of someone allegedly considering a run for governor.

Finally, they sigh as President Biden blatantly lies again – this time about the border. Biden alleges that illegal border crossings “came way down” as soon as he entered the White House. He also says Republicans killed the legislation that would have provided more “secret service” agents at the border.

Trump Convicted: The Verdict, The Rule of Law & What Comes Next

May 31, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “The Trump Verdict: The Case, The Rule of Law & What Comes Next” on Spreaker.

Jim is back just in time to discuss the fallout from Thursday’s verdict, as a Manhattan jury convicted Donald Trump on all 34 counts of falsifying his campaign expenditures in 2016.
First, they dissect the many different ways this case was twisted to target Trump – from the creative dating on the statute of limitations, to the unprecedented contortions needed to turn it into a felony, to a judge who seemed partial throughout the trial to the basic fact that no one other than Trump would likely have faced these charges. And they note that a lot of legal experts who openly don’t like Trump are highly critical of the case being brought and the way it was conducted.
Next, they assess the contention of many on the right that this case and this verdict are clear evidence that the left is openly using the justice system for political ends and that the rule of law itself is in danger of collapse. Jim offers a simple but powerful explanation of what justice should be and why we fell short of that standard in this case.
Finally, they conclude that the Biden team made the right call in sending the president out for an on-camera victory lap on Thursday. They suspect it might have something to do with the disastrous De Niro PR stunt this week – and because Trump may not be the only convicted felon in Biden’s orbit within the next few weeks.

House GOP’s Border Demands, Hunter Biden: 2nd Amendment Hero? Youngkin’s Arena Deal

December 13, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “House GOP’s Border Demands, Hunter Biden: 2nd Amendment Hero? Youngkin’s Arena Deal” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they once again serve up at least two good martinis, and possibly a third.
First, they applaud House Speaker Mike Johnson for demanding major action on border security as part of any deal to continue aid to Ukraine. And Jim fumes that Biden could have done this deal months ago all to his own political benefit but his refusal to acknowledge the reality at the border is costing him dearly.
They also get a kick out of Hunter Biden trying to avoid his gun charges by claiming the Supreme Court’s Bruen decision in 2022 means a gun buyer should no longer have to answer whether he is a current or former drug user. It’s a case that puts his own interests at direct odds with his father’s prioritites on the Second Amendment.
Finally, they examine the deal Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin seems to have made to lure the Washington Capitals and Washington Wizards to a new home across the river from D.C. They’re pleased to see most Virginia taxpayers don’t appear to be on the hook for the cost but nothing is finalized yet and there are some other concerns.

Sen. Manchin’s 2024 Plans, Two-Tiered Justice & the Nashville Manifesto, Media Coddle Hunter Biden

November 10, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Sen. Manchin’s 2024 Plans, Two-Tiered Justice & the Nashville Manifesto, Media Coddle Hunter Biden” on Spreaker.

Former Chief Assistant U.S. Attorney and National Review Contributing Editor Andy McCarthy is in for Jim, who will be back on Monday. Today, Andy and Greg break down West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin announcing he will not run for the U.S. Senate again in 2024 and will instead travel the nation “to see if there is interest in creating a movement to mobilize the middle.” Andy and Greg assess the impact another third party candidate might have on the outcome next year.

They also dig into the Nashville police refusing to release the manifesto from the Covenant School murderer and suspending sever officers for their alleged role in leaking a few pages from the document. Andy explain why he sees this as another maddening example of our two-tiered justice system.

Finally, they get a big laugh out of NBC trying to label Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis a hypocrite for saying politicians’ kids should be left out of political arguments because he’s publicly critical of 53-year-old Hunter Biden.

Dems Don’t Want Biden, Hunter Indictment Twist, Biden’s Sudden Exit

September 7, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Dems Don’t Want Biden, Hunter Indictment Twist, Biden’s Sudden Exit” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they marvel at President Biden’s dismal poll numbers, including 58 percent of Americans saying the economy is worse under his leadership and 67 percent of Democrats wanting someone other than Biden as the party’s nominee next year. But Democrats also have no idea whom they would want to replace Biden. They also react to Special Counsel David Weiss announcing that there will likely be an indictment against Hunter Biden on a gun charge by the end of the month, but they also note Andy McCarthy’s assessment that this is not about Weiss finally getting tough on Hunter. Instead, it’s about running out the clock ona wide array of potential charges. Finally, they are highly skeptical of the White House explanation that President Biden exited a Medal of Honor ceremony earlier than usual due to COVID precautions and that it was planned that way.

Hunter’s Deal ‘Null and Void,’ The DeSantis Reboot, Congress & UFO’s

July 26, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Hunter’s Deal ‘Null and Void,’ The DeSantis Reboot, Congress & UFO’s” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they react to the breaking news that Hunter Biden’s plea deal on tax and gun charges is “null and void” after this morning’s arraignment in federal court. And Jim dissects revelations that we do know some buyers of the Hunter Biden art and why it emits a foul odor. They also discuss the reboot of the DeSantis campaign and whether there is any way for DeSantis (or anyone else) to chip away at the loyalty to Donald Trump within the GOP base. Finally, they drop in on today’s House hearings on UFO’s and Jim wonders whether the government is preparing to reveal something staggering to the public, even if it has nothing to do with aliens.

GOP’s Economic Opportunity, Gutter Politics, Burgum’s Smart Bet

July 25, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “GOP’s Economic Opportunity, Gutter Politics, Burgum’s Smart Bet” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for another full round of martinis! After noting the White House changing its explanation of Joe’s relationship to Hunter’s business ventures, they’re excited to see polling that shows Americans are far more concerned with the economy than anything else. Does any GOP hopeful have a plan to deal effectively with the inflation brought on by rampant government spending? They also shudder as many on social media express their disappointment that Gov. Ron DeSantis was not injured during a motorcade accident this morning in Tennessee. Finally, they note North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum qualified for the first GOP presidential debate and the unique way in which he accomplished it.

Timestamps:

0:19 – White House no longer says Pres. Biden & Hunter never talked business. Now they state they were never in business together.
2:03 – Biden wants to own this economy and Americans are overwhelmingly concerned about the economy. Can the GOP take advantage of this golden opportunity?
7:34 – People upset that DeSantis was not injured in motorcade accident
12:58 – Burgum qualifies for the GOP debate after a creative fundraising strategy.

Student Debt Sanity, Biden’s Business Dealings, State GOP Crises

July 24, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Student Debt Sanity, Biden’s Business Dealings, State GOP Crises” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they are pleasantly stunned that Americans overwhelmingly support the Supreme Court ruling blocking President Biden’s unilateral forgiveness of student loan debt. And for those who feel strongly on the issue, the results are even more lopsided. They also dig into the latest allegations that President Biden not only knew about Hunter Biden’s business dealings, but was actively involved in dozens of phone calls with his business partners. Finally, they cringe as state Republican parties in four key states are in major financial trouble or mired in intraparty bickering – and another big state may be in that condition soon.

Biden’s Lie Exposed, NYC Settles with Protesters, Taxpayers Fleeced for Lavish Trip

July 20, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Biden’s Lie Exposed, NYC Settles with Protesters, Taxpayers Fleeced for Lavish Trip” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they react to a House Democrat who tried to defend President Biden during a key congressional hearing but actually ended up exposing yet another Biden lie. They also sigh as New York City agrees to pay 2020 demonstrators more than $13 million for alleged police mistreatment of protesters. Finally, they shake their heads as local Virginia officials soaked taxpayers with a $60,000 tab so they could fly in luxury to Ghana and stay at an expensive resort under the premise of establishing a sister city relationship there.

Timestamps:

0:37 – House Democrat inadvertently exposes Pres. Biden did discuss business with Hunter
5:53 – New York City settles class action lawsuit with 2020 demonstrators, paying $13.7 million.
11:09 – Local Virginia taxpayers stuck with $60,000 tab so three county officials could travel to Ghana to finalize a sister city agreement.

Media’s Hunter Biden Flailing, Don’t Try to Be Europe, Palm Springs to Pay Trans People

April 7, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “Media’s Hunter Biden Flailing, Don’t Try to Be Europe, Palm Springs to Pay Trans People” on Spreaker.

Join Greg and National Review’s David Harsanyi as they criticize The Atlantic’s Anne Applebaum for her weak deflection after a young college student challenges her on the media’s role in the cover-up of the Hunter Biden laptop scandal. David discusses his book, Eurotrash, and discusses why the U.S. should not look to Europe as model for economic policies here. And after a unanimous vote last week, Palm Springs, California, will pay transgender and non-binary individuals $900 dollars a month with no strings attached.
