DeSantis & the Storm, Gold Star Parents & Biden, Dems Dodge Transparency

August 30, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “DeSantis & the Storm, Gold Star Parents & Biden, Dems Dodge Transparency” on Spreaker.

Ricochet.com Editor-in-Chief Jon Gabriel is in for Jim, who will return on Thursday. Today, Jon and Greg applaud the competence and preparedness of Gov. DeSantis in Florida as Hurricane Idalia comes ashore. They also note the anguish of the parents of American service members who were killed two years ago in the terrorist attack at Abbey Gate in Kabul – and their frustration at President Biden’s disastrous policies and his callous treatment of them ever since. Finally, they highlight a lawsuit in Michigan after an email about the 2021 Benton Harbor water crisis was written with Greek letters to avoid showing up in a Freedom of Information request. And it was written that way because it suggested the government was caught flat-footed on the crisis.

Timestamps:

0:39 – Hurricane Idalia hits Florida and the state preparedness seems to be excellent yet again.

6:53 – Parents of service members killed in the Abbey Gate terrorist attack express their anguish and their frustration with Biden and his administration.

14:17 – Energy consultant for Michigan Gov. Whitmer accused of hiding his email from Freedom of Information requests by using Greek letters to share bad news about a water crisis.

Dems Clueless on ‘Moderates,’ America’s Crippling Inflation, Soaring School Absences

August 14, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Dems Clueless on ‘Moderates,’ America’s Crippling Inflation, Soaring School Absences” on Spreaker.

Hillsdale College Radio General Manager and Radio Free Hillsdale Hour Host Scot Bertram is in for Jim, who will be back tomorrow. Today, Scot and Greg start with a martini that’s both bad and crazy. They welcome Minnesota Rep. Dean Phillips saying his party needs to move on from Joe Biden. But they do a spit take when Phillips suggests a “moderate” governor from the heartland and then the congressman and NBC’s Chuck Todd list Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Illinois Gov. JB. Pritzker, and several others who aren’t the slightest bit moderate. They also unload on the Biden administration’s talking point that the economy is great and we just don’t appreciate it. The latest evidence is that Americans paid $709 more in July 2023 than they did for the exact same goods and services than they did two years ago. Finally, they recoil at numbers showing 25 percent of American school students missed 10 percent or more of school days in the 2021-22 school year, which translates to 6.5 million more students than prior to the pandemic. They also go through Michigan’s numbers, which are far worse than the national average. Scot calls it a “national emergency.”
Timestamps:
1:30 – Special Counsel named in Hunter Biden investigation
2:35 – Dem Rep. Dean Phillips wants Biden to serve just one term and pass the torch to a “moderate” governor from the heartland. But Phillips and NBC’s Chuck Todd prove they have no idea what a moderate is.
9:28 – Americans paying more than $700 more per month than they did two years ago for the same goods and services.
16:39 – America still plagued by chronic absenteeism in the wake of COVID.

Dem’s Shadow Election, Biden & Big Tech Go to Court, Cocaine in the White House

July 6, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Dem’s Shadow Election, Biden & Big Tech Go to Court, Cocaine in the White House” on Spreaker.

Chad Benson from The Chad Benson Show fills in for Greg today as he joins Jim with good, bad, and crazy martinis. They first discuss the “shadow campaigns” run by Democrats such as Gavin Newsom and the Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s possible 2028 run, and how the party has to play around Biden’s run for re-election. They then react to the DOJ appealing a lower court’s ban on the Biden administration’s communication with social media companies to censor “objectionable” posts, with the case likely ending up in the Supreme Court. They finally opine on cocaine found in the White House, with “one familiar with the investigation” by the Secret Service saying the perpetrator is “unlikely to be determined”.

Dobbs & Declining Abortions, Space Force Discrimination, Media’s Trump Obsession

June 16, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Dobbs & Declining Abortions, Space Force Discrimination, Media’s Trump Obsession” on Spreaker.

Hillsdale College Radio General Manager and Radio Free Hillsdale Hour Host Scot Bertram is in for Jim today. Join Scot and Greg as they cheer statistics showing abortions are down in the U.S. since the Dobbs decision at the Supreme Court and way down in states that have enacted stronger pro-life laws. They’re also horrified as a three-star general in the U.S. Space Force warns that people who are less qualified for command positions will likely be chosen for them because of state laws banning puberty blockers and radical gender surgeries for minors. Finally, they groan as ABC’s “Good Morning America” spends almost an entire interview with GOP presidential candidate and Miami Mayor Francis Suarez asking him about Donald Trump. Scot says this should a major warning sign to the RNC about who ought to host Republican primary debates, and he suggests a familiar name to be a panelist at those debates.

Encore: Making Sense of the Midterms

November 23, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “Encore: Making Sense of the Midterms” on Spreaker.

Jim and Greg will be back with brand new podcasts on Thursday and Friday. As they both go on vacation today, let’s look back at their analysis of the midterm elections from two weeks ago. At the time they noted some of the big races that slipped away from the GOP, cheered the big wins in places like Florida and Texas, and discussed what lessons can be learned in the immediate aftermath of the voting.

Michigan’s Dead Heat, The Cost of COVID School Closures, New Russian Nuke Threat

October 24, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “Michigan’s Dead Heat, The Cost of COVID School Closures, New Russian Nuke Threat” on Spreaker.

Greg is back! Join Jim and Greg as they welcome news that the Michigan governor’s race is a dead heat and one of the worst governors in the country could be in big trouble. They also cringe as national math and reading testing shows horrific numbers that are clearly a result of schools being closed – many of them much longer than necessary. And they react to reports that Russia’s defense minister was discussing the threat of a Ukrainian “dirty bomb” that most in the west see as nothing more than a manufactured pretext for Moscow to use nukes.

Energy Reality vs. Biden, Whitmer vs. School Choice, Left vs. Pregnancy Centers

June 17, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “Energy Reality vs. Biden, Whitmer vs. School Choice, Left vs. Pregnancy Centers” on Spreaker.

Rob Long is in for Jim. Join Rob and Greg as they cheer the energy industry bluntly rebutting President Biden’s pathetic demonization of it by laying out how production, refining, and pricing actually work and how Biden’s vow to end fossil fuels is directly responsible for skyrocketing energy prices. They also slam Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer for trying to derail school voucher options for parents. And they look at the left’s creepy war on pregnancy centers.

Biden’s Tired Blame Game, Sweet Talking the Saudis, Michigan GOP Mess

June 3, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “Biden’s Tired Blame Game, Sweet Talking the Saudis, Michigan GOP Mess” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they call out President Biden for his tired act of blaming Russian President Vladimir Putin for our inflation crisis. The war has contributed to the problem, but it was never the main driver of inflation. They also chronicle how Biden is about to completely flip from vowing to make Saudi Arabia a pariah state to begging it to produce more oil. And they shake their heads as two of Michigan’s most prominent GOP candidates for governor fail to make the primary ballot over fraudulent petitions.

Barrett Braces for Blowback, Radical Abortion Bills, Whitmer Won’t Update Voter Rolls

April 5, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “Barrett Braces for Blowback, Radical Abortion Bills, Whitmer Won’t Update Voter Rolls” on Spreaker.

Join Greg and “Political Beats” podcast host Scot Bertram as they appreciate Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett telling Americans to “read the opinion” before getting worked up over the court’s upcoming opinions. They also analyze the effects of Colorado’s newly signed abortion bill, which allows abortions up to the moment of birth, and the hard left shift by Democrats nationally on the issue of life. And they roll their eyes as Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer vetoes legislation to clean up the voter rolls of citizens, saying it’s an undue burden on county clerks.

Independents Sour on Biden, Whitmer Hid COVID Deaths, Ukraine Evacuations?

January 21, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “Independents Sour on Biden, Whitmer Hid COVID Deaths, Ukraine Evacuations?” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they react to independent voters turning very negative on President Biden. They also highlight a Michigan audit showing many more nursing home deaths from COVID than Gov. Gretchen Whitmer previously admitted. And they sense Russian military activity could be coming soon in Ukraine as the U.S. considers evacuating the family members of American diplomats there.
