Can FBI Crack Cocaine Case? Elon Seeks More Spending Cuts, Harvard Fires Prof for Faking Dishonesty Data

May 28, 2025 by GregC

Listen to “Can FBI Crack Cocaine Case? Elon Seeks More Spending Cuts, Harvard Fires Prof for Faking Dishonesty Data” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for Tuesday’s 3 Martini Lunch as they dig into the FBI’s decision to reopen two politically charged investigations, Elon Musk’s disappointment with the amount of spending in the GOP bill, and a Harvard professor fired for falsifying her studies on dishonesty.

First, Jim and Greg commend the FBI for revisiting stalled investigations, namely the 2022 leak of the Supreme Court’s Dobbs abortion ruling and the 2023 discovery of cocaine inside the Biden White House. Both probes were closed under the current administration without answers.

Next, they examine Elon Musk’s criticism of the GOP’s “Big Beautiful Bill,” which he says includes far too much government spending. The legislation contains many strong conservative provisions, but Musk says it can’t be both big and beautiful and there are many areas ripe for spending reductions.

Finally, they laugh at the stunning irony of Harvard firing a tenured professor for the first time in nearly 80 years because she falsified her research on dishonesty. This leads Jim and Greg down the road of other famous examples of researchers and politicians fabricating their results.

Fetterman & Squatters, Trump & Abortion, Biden & American Hostages

April 9, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Fetterman & Squatters, Trump & Abortion, Biden & American Hostages” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they serve up three important martinis, with Sen. Fetterman providing another pleasant surprise, Donald Trump stirring up the abortion debate on the right, and President Biden getting called out over his handling of the Middle East crisis.

First, they cheer Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman for blasting the notion that squatters have any right to live on property they don’t own and have no permission to stay on. He also rips soft-on-crime policies.

Next, they dissect Donald Trump’s announcement on his abortion stance. While agreeing with Trump that the Democrats’ agenda – of taxpayer funded abortions up to the moment of birth and even allowing babies to die after surviving abortions – is the far more radical position on the issue, they’re also critical of Trump’s “follow your heart” advice on abortion in the states for a number of reasons.

Finally, they chide The Dispatch for a pretty weak case that President Biden has kept his focus on the Americans being held hostage by Hamas in Gaza. While it’s true that Biden has addressed the despicable abductions, it’s not very often and there’s an easy way to tell how much public attention the White House and the media want to give this issue.

Dobbs & Declining Abortions, Space Force Discrimination, Media’s Trump Obsession

June 16, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Dobbs & Declining Abortions, Space Force Discrimination, Media’s Trump Obsession” on Spreaker.

Hillsdale College Radio General Manager and Radio Free Hillsdale Hour Host Scot Bertram is in for Jim today. Join Scot and Greg as they cheer statistics showing abortions are down in the U.S. since the Dobbs decision at the Supreme Court and way down in states that have enacted stronger pro-life laws. They’re also horrified as a three-star general in the U.S. Space Force warns that people who are less qualified for command positions will likely be chosen for them because of state laws banning puberty blockers and radical gender surgeries for minors. Finally, they groan as ABC’s “Good Morning America” spends almost an entire interview with GOP presidential candidate and Miami Mayor Francis Suarez asking him about Donald Trump. Scot says this should a major warning sign to the RNC about who ought to host Republican primary debates, and he suggests a familiar name to be a panelist at those debates.

Marshals Told Not to Arrest, Should We See the Manifesto? America’s Spending Paradox

March 29, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Marshals Told Not to Arrest, Should We See the Manifesto? America’s Spending Paradox” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they applaud Alabama Sen. Katie Britt and her staff for discovering that U.S. Marshals were told not to arrest demonstrators outside the home of Supreme Court justices over last year’s leaked abortion ruling, even though they were clearly violating federal law. They also dive into the debate over whether the Nashville killer’s manifesto ought to be made public after the police say it will not be released while the investigation is active. What are the considerations for and against making it available? Finally, they sigh at another depressing poll, as Americans overwhelmingly think the federal government spends too much money but also strongly believe it spends too little on several key drivers of spending.

SCOTUS Fails to Find Leaker, Debt Ceiling Drama, Biden’s Absent Advisers

January 20, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “SCOTUS Fails to Find Leaker, Debt Ceiling Drama, Biden’s AWOL Advisers” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they offer up two bad martinis and a crazy one. First, they shake their heads in disbelief and deep skepticism that the Supreme Court couldn’t figure out who leaked Justice Alito’s majority opinion in the Dobbs case, which resulted in the overturning of Roe v. Wade. They also hammer President Biden for demanding no conditions whatsoever to an extension of the debt ceiling, even though his unconstitutional plan to “forgive” student debt by forcing the bill on other taxpayers caused this debate to happen months earlier than it should have. Finally, they roll their eyes at reports that Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack was tapped to co-chair the Supply Chain Disruption Task Force but never went to a single meeting.  Seems to be a lot of that going around with Biden cabinet secretaries.

U.S. Supreme Court Strikes Down Roe v. Wade

June 24, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “U.S. Supreme Court Strikes Down Roe v. Wade” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they break down the monumental U.S. Supreme Court ruling overturning the Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey decisions that had declared a constitutional right to an abortion. They welcome the ruling as being correct from a constitutional perspective and for the good it will do in saving lives.  They also note that not much immediately changes on abortion law and that the 50 states will now determine how they each approach the issue.

In addition, they point out the Homeland Security warning about widespread violence as a result of the ruling, and Jim highlights how the decision of a justice who strongly supported abortion contributed significantly to Friday’s verdict.
