Press Corps Wakes Up, Pelosi Wants SCOTUS Term Limits, Garland’s Pathetic Defense

June 26, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Press Corps Wakes Up, Pelosi Wants SCOTUS Term Limits, Garland’s Pathetic Defense” on Spreaker.

Jim Geraghty is back! After a brief discussion about the confusing Russian coup, Jim and Greg dive into three domestic issues today. First, they’re happy to see the White House press corps – even some of the usually compliant members – demanding answers about President Biden’s apparent involvement in Hunter Biden’s business deals after Biden repeatedly insisted he knew nothing about them. They also roll their eyes as former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who has been in Congress for more than 36 years, calls for term limits for Supreme Court justices. Finally, they push back hard after Attorney General Merrick Garland suggests any accusation of political favoritism coming from the Justice Department is “an attack on an institution that is essential to American democracy.” Jim shreds Garland for suggesting criticism of the DOJ is somehow out of bounds, when it’s one of our most basic rights and freedoms.

Marshals Told Not to Arrest, Should We See the Manifesto? America’s Spending Paradox

March 29, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Marshals Told Not to Arrest, Should We See the Manifesto? America’s Spending Paradox” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they applaud Alabama Sen. Katie Britt and her staff for discovering that U.S. Marshals were told not to arrest demonstrators outside the home of Supreme Court justices over last year’s leaked abortion ruling, even though they were clearly violating federal law. They also dive into the debate over whether the Nashville killer’s manifesto ought to be made public after the police say it will not be released while the investigation is active. What are the considerations for and against making it available? Finally, they sigh at another depressing poll, as Americans overwhelmingly think the federal government spends too much money but also strongly believe it spends too little on several key drivers of spending.

Equity Agenda Meets Reality, Dems Pressure Cable Providers, Garland & Terrorism

February 23, 2021 by GregC

Listen to “Equity Agenda Meets Reality, Dems Pressure Cable Providers, Garland & Terrorism” on Spreaker.

Chad Benson is in for Jim today. Chad and Greg examine new research from the Federal Reserve showing the Biden racial equity agenda would actually make the wealth divide much greater. They also react to a pair of House Dems trying to get cable TV providers to cut ties with Fox News, OANN, and Newsmax. And they shake their heads as Merrick Garland draws a peculiar line between what is domestic terrorism and what is not.

Accuser Demands FBI Probe, Dems’ Real Judicial Goal, Severe Sibling Rivalry

September 19, 2018 by GregC

Listen to “Accuser Demands FBI Probe, Dems’ Real Judicial Goal, Severe Sibling Rivalry” on Spreaker.

Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America surprisingly find three good martinis for conservatives on Wednesday.  First, they find it interesting that Judge Kavanaugh’s accuser is suddenly refusing to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee until an FBI investigation on her accusation is completed.  They also appreciate Hawaii Sen. Mazie Hirono admitting what a big part of the agenda is for Democrats in this fight, keeping the Supreme Court seat vacant until 2021.  And they get a kick out a Wisconsin man cutting an ad for the opponent of his own brother in a Wisconsin congressional race, leaving Jim and Greg to consider how much more fun it would it would be to conduct sibling fights through 30-second attack ads.
