President Obama met with German Chancellor Angela Merkel twice this past week, once at the G-8 Summit in Ireland and again in Germany. The two leaders disagree over how best to jumpstart staggering economies, with Obama favoring stimulus spending and Merkel preferring austerity measures. Germany has mandated strict austerity measures as a condition for aid to cash-strapped nations like Greece.
