Greg Corombos of Radio America and Jim Geraghty of National Review are glumly relieved that the GOP avoided further horrible polls numbers through the end of the government shutdown. They are unhappy with the election of Cory Booker to the U.S. Senate. Greg is upset with Mitch McConnell’s decision to make it almost impossible for Congress to use the debt ceiling as a way to demand fiscal restraint and abdicate responsibility while Jim sees it as a tactical admission that the debt ceiling is not an effective tool for demanding change.
