Missing paperwork could cost National Collegiate Student Loans Trust more than 5 billion dollars. According to Fox News, this amount is divided among more than one hundred and sixty thousand individual loans. A legal battle is ensuing between National Collegiate and banks who initially gave students the loans. The question focuses on who owns those loans.
