Not long ago, Iraq’s violent and unstable Anbar Province was the poster child for the anti-war movement’s argument against the U.S. presence in Iraq. Now Anbar is secure to the point all U.S. Marines are scheduled to be out by the middle of November. So what changed? What made the difference in turning Anbar and most of Iraq in a dramatically positive direction? And who should get the lion’s share of the credit? We ask David Bellavia, an Iraq War veteran who fought in the brutal 2004 Battle of Fallujah in Anbar Province. He is also Vice Chairman and Founder of Vets for Freedom.
