It’s very unclear whether a second economic stimulus package – including billions of dollars in aid to the major U.S. automakers – will pass in this lame duck session of Congress. But should it? What do the American people think? Should automakers be given a helping hand or shold they be forced to dig out of their own mess? Are Americans more concerned with the potential economic impact of the industry collapsing or with even greater government intervention? We ask pollster Peter Hart, who just conducted a comprehensive poll on this issue.
