This week, Senate Democrats unveiled their 2,074 page health care bill.  President Obama and Congressional Democrats have promised throughout this debate that taxpayer dollars would not fund abortions if this legislation passes.  So why are pro-life experts calling this a total failure to keep that promise?  What does the bill specifically call for on the abortion front?  How could taxpayers easily end up paying for elective abortions?  Are Democrats right when they say the Stupak amendment to the House bill is more restrictive than the long-standing Hyde amendment?  What does the Hyde amendment say anyway?  How are Democrats using a very deceptive semantics game to fund abortions through the public option?

Arizona Rep. Trent Franks slams the Obama administration defense of putting 9-11 mastermind Khalid Sheik Mohammed on trial in federal court, saying ‘why don’t we just invite them into the nursery to teach our kids?’  He says such a move give terrorists incentive to target Americans on U.S. soil rather than confront our military.  He also shreds the reasons Attorney General Eric Holder gives for why Americans should not be concerned about this.  And he takes the President to task for possibly taking several more weeks to settle on a policy for Afghanistan.

Texas Rep. Ted Poe says all the fictional data on the White House recovery.gov website proves there is no job creation for the administration to claim.  He also reveals that any worker who gets a raise counts as a ‘job saved’ in the Obama calculations.  Poe says the upcoming ‘jobs bill’ will probably be more of the same and that real job creation comes through aggressive tax incentives.  He also slams Democrats for piling onto the debt by passing a $250 billion plan to reimburse doctors – an issue that would have killed the Pelosi health bill so it was separated.

Georgia Rep. Phil Gingrey is ripping new recommendations from the federal government regarding breast cancer prevention.  The new guidelines suggest mammograms for women starting at age 50 rather than the previous recommendation to begin at age 40.  They also say self exams are no longer necessary.  Why does Gingrey believe this puts women’s lives in danger?  Why does he believe it’s vital for women to begin screening at age 40 and to be diligent with the self exams?  And why does he see this as the start of the government finding more and more tests and procedures for which it refuses to pay – better known as rationing?
