Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America lay out the extent of the devastation in Southeast Texas but also salute the first responders and big-hearted citizens who are rescuing their neighbors.  They also unload on Antifa, as the leftist mob attacks people in Berkeley and chants, “No Trump. No Wall. No USA at All.”  And they discuss the likely circus car of endless 2020 Democratic presidential hopefuls that will make the 17 GOP candidates in 2016 seems like a reasonable number.

CNN’s ‘Copycat’ Canard, Antifa’s Illogical Anarchy, Statue Wars Escalate

David French of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America close the week with three crazy martinis.  They unload on CNN’s Wolf Blitzer and Jim Sciutto for speculating on air that the radical Muslim terrorist in Barcelona got the idea for a van attack from watching the events in Charlottesville.  They also hammer Antifa’s argument that it engages in violence to protect nonviolence and only against white supremacists, pointing out that Antifa viciously attacks anyone it doesn’t agree with and that it is the job of police to protect nonviolence.  And they sigh as liberals start calling for the removal of statues of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, just as their critics predicted earlier in the week.

Gettysburg Reenactment Rumors

Gettysburg Pennsylvania authorities are on edge over rumors claiming  the leftist group Antifa may cause problems at this weekend’s battle reenactment. According to Fox News, some fear the group may cause damage to gravestones and even burn a Confederate flag. While peaceful protests are legal, such action on Antifa’s part will not be tolerated. While the Central Pennsylvania Antifa group denies the rumors, United States park police are taking the reports seriously. The reenactment is highly attended, and authorities are preparing for any incidents that may arise.
