The United States reached an agreement with Canada and Mexico to lift the Trump administration’s tariffs on steel and aluminum imports. The news comes as a breath of fresh air to investors and President Trump in the midst of deteriorating trade relations between the U.S. and China. The Trump administration hopes lifting the tariffs will help in the ratification of the USMCA trade agreement signed by Canada, Mexico, and the United States in November to replace NAFTA. Matt Fisher reports.

Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America have a lively discussion of the Trump administration’s withdrawal of federal funding for California’s high-speed rail project. Democratic presidential hopeful Kirsten Gillibrand says states would no longer be able to legislate on abortion if she gets elected. And Jim offers a radical counter-proposal after learning an adversity score was added to the SAT.

Listen to “Essence of Evil – Part 2” on Spreaker.
Sex-trafficked children are the third largest criminal commodity in the United States. Only illegal drugs and guns are more prolific. In the first installment of our Essence of Evil series, we examined the scope of the child sex trafficking, the horrors endured by the victims, and how this became a big business.
Here in part two of our series, we examine how children – mostly girls – are lured by predators and traffickers, how they are groomed for life as a victim, and why there are so many people in the U.S. willing to pay to have sex with kids.
Listener discretion is advised.

Listen to “NYC Mayor de Blasio Announces 2020 Bid” on Spreaker.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination for president in 2020. De Blasio’s bid appears to be a longshot as he would be the first president to ever rise directly from city hall to White House. New Yorkers meanwhile do not appear too excited about their mayor criss-crossing the country to campaign for president. Matt Fisher reports.

Jim is back! Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America get a kick out of New Yorkers bluntly rejecting Mayor Bill de Blasio’s 2020 presidential bid but it does give Greg an idea of how to thin the 24-candidate field. They also applaud Federal Communications Commission Chairman Ajit Pai for giving AT&T, Verizon and other carriers more latitude to block the robocalls flooding our cell phones. And they have a lot of fun with PETA’s ridiculous denunciation of former President Jimmy Carter of speciesism and a human-supremacist worldview because he likes to go turkey hunting.

Listen to “Essence of Evil – Part 1” on Spreaker.
Last month, Rutherford Institute President John Whitehead wrote a column that once again alerted the nation to a horrifying fact: that adults purchasing children for sex is a booming business in America. He cited stomach-wrenching statistics like adults paying to rape kids 2.5 million times each year. And while the statistics vary, there is no question that tens of thousands of American children are trapped in the sex trafficking trade and many more are at risk.
Whitehead’s column was entitled “The Essence of Evil: Sex with Children Has Become Big Business in America.” We are borrowing that title for this series. In the first of three installments on “Essence of Evil,”, we examine just how big the problem of child sex trafficking is, what these victims tragically endure, and how this has become big business.
Also, be sure to heart Part 2 of this series, in which we learn how children are lured by predators and traffickers. We also tackle the disturbing question of why there such a huge demand among American adults for sex with children.
Finally, in Part 3 of “Essence of Evil,” we look at solutions to this crisis in our society and explore what lawmakers, law enforcement, communities, and families can do to protect children.
Listener discretion is advised, particularly if children are present.
