Crenshaw’s Clarity, The Ninja Bomb, Bad Numbers for Beto

May 10, 2019 by GregC

Listen to “Crenshaw’s Clarity, The Ninja Bomb, Bad Numbers for Beto” on Spreaker.

Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America cheer Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw for exhibiting the rare ability to make lots of good points in a short period of time in language anyone can understand.  Crenshaw took to social media to explain why he opposes a bill from House Democrats and what ideas he prefers, and Jim and Greg hope more conservatives follow Crenshaw’s lead.  They also marvel at the new Ninja Bomb, which packs six lethal blades instead of explosives, allowing terrorists and other enemies to be targeted while greatly reducing the risk of collateral damage.  And they enjoy watching Beto O’Rourke’s poll numbers crater in New Hampshire now that the media are no longer fawning over him.

Strong Jobs Report, More Spying on Trump, Media Dump Beto

May 3, 2019 by GregC

Listen to “Strong Jobs Report, More Spying on Trump, Media Dump Beto” on Spreaker.

Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America cheer a much stronger than expected April unemployment report, showing the addition of 263,000 jobs and the lowest unemployment rate since December 1969.  They also react to a New York Times report detailing how a second person tried to get George Papadopoulos to admit the Trump campaign was conspiring with the Russians during the 2016 campaign – a revelation that sure sounds a lot like spying.  They get a kick out of the media deciding it’s time to break up with Beto O’Rourke, and they pay tribute to Peter Mayhew, the actor who brought Star Wars favorite Chewbacca to life.

Trump Waits on Health Bill, Beto Bashes Electoral College, Bloomberg Reconsiders

April 2, 2019 by GregC

Listen to “Trump Waits on Health Bill, Beto Bashes Electoral College, Bloomberg Reconsiders” on Spreaker.

Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America admit that it’s good politics for President Trump and Republicans to postpone another effort to dismantle Obamacare until after the 2020 election but are frustrated that the GOP still doesn’t have a coherent plan almost a decade after Obamacare as passed.  They also blast Beto O’Rourke as he calls for the abolishing of the electoral college because it goes all the way back to the founding and claims that it somehow perpetuates racial discrimination.  And they get a kick out of reports that former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is reconsidering a 2020 presidential bid if Joe Biden decides not to run or becomes too damaged to have a decent shot at winning.

Bennet Blasts Court Packing, Libs vs. 2nd Amendment, Chelsea Blamed for Mosque Massacre

March 18, 2019 by GregC

Listen to “Bennet Blasts Court Packing, Libs vs. 2nd Amendment, Chelsea Blamed for Mosque Massacre” on Spreaker.

Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America are glad to see not all Democrats have lost their minds after Colorado Sen.  Michael Bennet begs 2020 candidates not to campaign on expanding the Supreme Court. They also hammer Beto O’Rourke and other liberals for using the New Zealand mosque massacre to push a ban on the AR-15.  And they defend Chelsea Clinton after progressives accuse her of facilitating the New Zealand massacre with her critique of Rep. Ilhan Omar.

No Deal at Hanoi, Trump Weak on Warmbier, Beto’s Bid for 2020

February 28, 2019 by GregC

Listen to “No Deal at Hanoi, Trump Weak on Warmbier, Beto’s Bid for 2020” on Spreaker.

Daniel Foster of National Review Online and Greg Corombos of Radio America are pleased to see President Trump walk away with no deal with Kim Jong-Un rather than give in to Kim’s thoroughly unacceptable demands.  They also slam Trump for taking Kim “at his word” that he knew nothing about the horrific treatment of American Otto Warmbier in a North Korean prison and that Trump made some nuclear concessions even before beginning talks.  And they have fun with the news that media darling Beto O’Rourke is likely to run for president.

Manafort & Assange, Beto & 2020,Trump & General Motors

November 27, 2018 by GregC

Listen to “Manafort & Assange, Beto & 2020,Trump & General Motors” on Spreaker.

Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America serve up all crazy martinis Tuesday.  They begin with a report from the UK Guardian newspaper that Paul Manafort met multiple times with Julian Assange in London, including early 2016 when Manafort was about to become chairman for the Trump campaign.  They also get a kick out of Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke abandoning his pledge never to run for president in 2020 just three weeks after making it.  And they wonder whether taxpayers will wind up on the hook again as President Trump tries to stop General Motors from shuttering five plants and laying off thousands of workers in the U.S.

Hoping to Keep the House, Bleak Prospects in Governors’ Races, Village Idiots for Beto

October 22, 2018 by GregC

Listen to “Hoping to Keep the House, Bleak Prospects in Governors’ Races, Village Idiots for Beto” on Spreaker.

Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America are glad to see multiple non-partisan experts insist the Republicans still have a shot at keep a majority in the House of Representatives, although the odds are not in their favor.  They also shudder as Democrats look to be in strong position to win governors’ races in many key states.  They cringe as Beto O’Rourke supporters rewrite the disco hit “YMCA” in support of the Texas Democrat.  And Jim and Greg do their best to carry on professionally leading up to this week’s Bears-Jets game, even as special interest attack ads try to whip animosity between them.

U.S. Has Top Economy, Heitkamp’s Horrible Idea, Beto’s Bogus Story

October 17, 2018 by GregC

Listen to “America on Top, Heitkamp’s Horrible Idea, Beto’s Bogus Story” on Spreaker.

Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America celebrate the United States being named the world’s top economy for the first time since the financial crisis.  They also shudder as North Dakota Democratic Sen. Heidi Heitkamp tries to attack her opponent by running an ad listing women who are assault victims. But several of the women were never asked if their names could be used, some of them were never assaulted say the publicity has “ruined their lives.”  And they get a kick out of Texas Democratic Senate hopeful Beto O’Rourke saying his “lifelong Republican” mom is voting for him, but a check of voting records shows something very different.  They also discuss why the University of Michigan has one too many football fans.

Cruz’n Ahead of Beto, Holder’s Horrible Advice, Bredesen’s Big Con

October 11, 2018 by GregC

Listen to “Cruz'n Ahead of Beto, Holder's Horrible Advice, Bredesen's Big Con” on Spreaker.

Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America are pleased to see Ted Cruz opening up a nine point lead over Beto O’Rourke in the Texas U.S. Senate race and it looks like very few voters are likely to change their minds.  They also react to former Attorney General Eric Holder telling activists that when Republicans go low, Democrats should kick them.  And Democrat Phil Bredesen’s Tennessee campaign staffers are caught on camera admitting Bredesen really hates Trump and only said he would have voted for Brett Kavanaugh to pander to moderate Republicans.

Bad Beto, McCain Funeral Snubs, NBC Spiked #MeToo?

August 31, 2018 by GregC

Listen to “Bad Beto, McCain Funeral Snubs, NBC Spiked #MeToo?” on Spreaker.

Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America credit the Houston Chronicle for reporting what dozens of fawning Beto O’Rourke features have not – that he not only drove drunk in 1998, but caused a major accident and then tried to flee the scene.  They also react to John McCain snubbing 2008 campaign aides Steve Schmidt, Nicolle Wallace, and John Weaver from his funeral invitation list, presumably over their willingness to trash him to make money and launch media careers following that election.  And as a former NBC producer insists the network spiked Ronan Farrow’s reporting on the sexual assaults and harassment by Harvey Weinstein, Jim zeroes in on why NBC wanted nothing to do with the story.
