Avenatti Sentenced, McAuliffe’s Awful Week, Hunter Biden’s ‘Art’

July 9, 2021 by GregC

Listen to “Avenatti Sentenced, McAuliffe’s Awful Week, Hunter Biden’s ‘Art'” on Spreaker.

Jim and Greg are glad to see Michael Avenatti sentenced to prison for his extortion crimes and discuss how how our political environment turned a fame-seeking lawyer into a left-wing media darling. They also enjoy Terry McAuliffe’s rough week in the Virginia governor’s race and how his ties to President Trump could cool off support on the left. And they throw up their hands as Hunter Biden’s “artwork” goes on sale at ridiculous prices and the Biden administration tries to conceal who buys it.

Trump’s Yovonovitch Tweets, Bloomberg and Patrick Skeletons, Avenatti Forgotten

November 15, 2019 by GregC

Listen to “Trump’s Yovonovitch Tweets, Bloomberg and Patrick Skeletons, Avenatti Forgotten” on Spreaker.

It’s a no-filter Friday on the Three Martini Lunch.  Jim and Greg start by reacting to the Roger Stone convictions before even starting their martinis.  Then they shake their heads as President Trump goes on a Twitter rant against former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovonovitch while she’s testifying on Capitol Hill and Adam Schiff immediately overplays his hand by calling it witness intimidation.  Then Jim details the disturbing backgrounds of new Democratic presidential candidates Michael Bloomberg and Deval Patrick, including Bloomberg’s mistreatment of women and Patrick abusing his office to help a relative avoid registering as a sex offender.  And they get some satisfaction knowing that even the finalists in the “Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions” have already forgotten who Michael Avenatti is.

Assange Arrested, Massive Avenatti Indictment, Virginia Dems Apologize to Northam

April 11, 2019 by GregC

Listen to “Assange Arrested, Massive Avenatti Indictment, Virginia Dems Apologize to Northam” on Spreaker.

Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America celebrate the arrest of the founder of Wikileaks leader Julian Assange, the man responsible for the largest publication of classified material in history that risked compromising American troops and operations. They also remember all the times the media pushed disgraced attorney Michael Avenatti as a serious candidate for 2020 after Avenatti was indicted on 36 charges of tax dodging, perjury, and theft from clients. And they wonder what lessons have really been learned in Virginia after Democrats in the state apologize for rushing to judgment on Ralph Northam.

Avenatti Arrested, Impeachment Off the Table, Bad Week for Brennan

March 26, 2019 by GregC

Listen to “Avenatti Arrested, Impeachment Off the Table, Bad Week for Brennan” on Spreaker.

Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America settle in for three schadenfreude martinis today, kicking things off with the news that attention-seeking lawyer Michael Avenatti is charged with attempting to extort Nike for $20 million and stealing the damages awarded to his clients. They also welcome the news that House Democrats will not be pursuing the impeachment of President Trump. And they blast former CIA director John Brennan for joining “the resistance” and damaging not only his reputation, but also the reputation of the intelligence community, by perpetuating the Russia collusion conspiracy.

Oval Office Debate, Brexit Chaos, Avenatti’s Folly

December 12, 2018 by GregC

Listen to “Oval Office Debate, Brexit Chaos, Avenatti’s Folly” on Spreaker.

It’s a very busy day on the Three Martini Lunch.  We begin by thanking Townhall.com for highlighting our podcast and close by discussing the sentencing of former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen and the most popular Christmas movies in various states (three states get it right and Nevada, of course, is very wrong).  In between, we tackle three big martinis.  We applaud President Trump for keeping the cameras rolling in Tuesday’s border wall discussions with Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer and plead for more transparency in our government.  We groan as a no confidence vote for British Prime Minister Theresa May unfolds after her failure to get a Brexit plan approved.  And we shake our heads as a judge orders Stormy Daniels to reimburse President Trump nearly $300,000 in legal fees, but attorney Michael Avenatti says it’s not a win for Trump because he’s really sure he’ll win his other case against Trump.

Patrick Passes on 2020, Weekly Standard in Peril, Avenatti’s Exit

December 5, 2018 by GregC

Listen to “Patrick Passes on 2020, Weekly Standard in Peril, Avenatti’s Exit” on Spreaker.

Daniel Foster of National Review Online and Greg Corombos of Radio America welcome the news that former Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick will not run for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020.  They also react to the new that the longtime conservative magazine “The Weekly Standard” may soon be shutting down.  And they’re deeply disappointed that Michael Avenatti won’t be around to cause chaos in the 2020 Democratic primary season, although making sure Avenatti has zero chance of becoming president is probably a good thing.

Avenatti Charged, Cuomo’s Tax Confession, Vote Fraud Flailing

November 15, 2018 by GregC

Listen to “Avenatti Charged, Cuomo’s Tax Confession, Vote Fraud Flailing” on Spreaker.

Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America hope the accuser is OK but cannot miss the irony of lawyer Michael Avenatti begging for the presumption of innocence after being charged with domestic violence and just a month after trying to destroy Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh with no evidence.  They also welcome New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s explanation that his state offered $1.5 billion in tax incentives to Amazon because it’s tax rates are too high for New York to compete with places like Texas on a level playing field.  And they roll their eyes as Democratic Senators Sherrod Brown and Corey Booker insist Stacey Abrams must win the Georgia governor’s race or else it was stolen by Republicans.  They also cringe as President Trump claims people vote multiple times by changing clothes and getting back in line and that people get voter ID by buying cereal.

Toss-Up in New Jersey, Strong Economic Growth, Dems Dump Avenatti

October 26, 2018 by GregC

Listen to “Toss-Up in New Jersey, Strong Economic Growth, Dems Dump Avenatti” on Spreaker.

It’s all good martinis today!  Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America react to the breaking news of an arrest in the case of pipe bomb-type devices sent to prominent Democrats.  Then, they welcome the news that the Cook Political Report is moving the New Jersey U.S. Senate race to the toss-up column as a result of the immense ethical baggage hampering Sen. Bob Menendez.  They also applaud 3.5 percent economic growth in the third quarter.  And they enjoy watching the left inch away from attorney Michael Avenatti after his efforts to sink Brett Kavanaugh backfired and he says a white male should be the Democratic nominee in 2016.

McConnell Slams Dems, Antifa Harasses Cruz, Avenatti’s Dud

September 25, 2018 by GregC

Listen to “McConnell Slams Dems, Antifa Harasses Cruz, Avenatti’s Dud” on Spreaker.

Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America applaud Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for his Senate floor speech blasting Senate Democrats for their conduct during the Kavanaugh confirmation process.  They also unload on Antifa and the other menacing groups who berated Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and his wife and forced them to leave a Washington restaurant.  And they react to cable news fixture Michael Avenatti promising  an air-tight case of misconduct against Brett Kavanaugh only to walk back his bravado and go silent on Twitter.

Dems Slip in Generic Ballot, Ingraham Immigration Furor, Richard Gere for Congress?

August 10, 2018 by GregC

Listen to “Dems Slip in Generic Ballot, Ingraham Immigration Furor, Richard Gere for Congress?” on Spreaker.
Jim  Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America look at generic congressional ballot polls showing the Democratic blue wave might not threaten Republicans as much as was previously thought. They also think Laura Ingraham took the wrong tone during an immigration rant on Wednesday night, and they suggest the immigration discussion focus on policies and beliefs rather than demographics. And they continue to knock Republicans and Democrats for prioritizing celebrities in politics above genuine discussion of ideas, with actor Richard Gere’s name being tossed into the ring for New York’s 18th Congressional District and lawyer Michael Avenatti heading to Iowa to explore a presidential bid.
