Politics & Road Repair, DOJ Impeded Hunter Probe, Freedoms vs. ‘The Common Good’

June 23, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Politics & Road Repair, DOJ Impeded Hunter Probe, Freedoms vs. ‘The Common Good'” on Spreaker.

Ricochet.com Editor-in-Chief Jon Gabriel is in for Jim, who will be back on Monday. Join Jon and Greg as they applaud the rapid reopening of Interstate 95 in Philadelphia and note how quickly some projects get done when there is strong political incentive to get it done. They also fume as IRS whistleblowers tell Congress that the Justice Department repeatedly meddled in the Hunter Biden investigation by tipping off Hunter’s lawyers at times, forbidding the U.S. attorney from opening multiple investigations, and discouraging the investigation of incriminating messages. Finally, they shudder at the the legislative push in Ireland to “restrict freedom for the common good,” which is always the argument for the government stealing our liberties and giving itself more power.

Chicago Teachers Flunk, Government’s Accountability Crisis, Dizzying New COVID Rules

January 5, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “Chicago Teachers Flunk, Government’s Accountability Crisis, Dizzying New COVID Rules” on Spreaker.

After noting Sen. Schumer’s latest failure to kill the filibuster, Jim and Greg serve up three crazy martinis! First, they hammer the Chicago Teachers Union for refusing to teach in-person over the Omicron case numbers. They also unload on the Virginia Department of Transportation for continuing an ugly governmental trend of admitting a major problem but insisting that nothing could have been done better in response to the traffic nightmare on I-95. And their heads are spinning as the CDC releases absurdly burdensome recommendations for fighting COVID and that private employers are following the mandates and firing people while nothing happens to unvaccinated federal employees.

Afghanistan Nightmare, Border Crisis Worst Yet, Vaccine Mandate Madness

August 13, 2021 by GregC

Listen to “Afghanistan Nightmare, Border Crisis Worst Yet, Vaccine Mandate Madness” on Spreaker.

You may want an actual martini as you join Jim and Greg for three troubling stories. First, they chronicle the rapid collapse of the Afghan military, the Taliban’s seemingly inevitable return to power, and the Biden administration’s recent assurance that this would never happen. They also fume at the lack of any coherent Biden border policy as more than 212,000 migrants were apprehended at our southern border in July. And they unload on the president following reports that the Biden administration has considered draconian COVID restrictions, including the need to prove you are vaccinated to cross state lines.
