Michigan’s Midterm Mess, Radical Abortion Results, SNL Writers Snit

November 10, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “Michigan’s Midterm Mess, Radical Abortion Results, SNL Writers Snit” on Spreaker.

Scot Bertram, general manager of 101.7 FM Radio Free Hillsdale, is in for Jim today. Scot and Greg discuss the dramatic lurch leftward in Michigan during the midterm elections and how things somehow got even worse in Scot’s home state of Illinois. They also groan over Michigan’s full embrace of abortion and Montana voters rejecting a law requiring doctors to care for all babies born alive. They end on the lighter side as reports suggest some writers at Saturday Night Live are refusing to work this week in protest of host Dave Chappelle.

Tariff Talk Sparks Progress, Hyde & Biden, Baldwin’s SNL Exit

June 7, 2019 by GregC

Listen to “Tariff Talk Sparks Progress, Hyde & Biden, Baldwin’s SNL Exit” on Spreaker.

Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America discuss ongoing negotiations between the United States and Mexico concerning border security and tariffs. They also roll their eyes as Joe Biden flip-flops a third time on his longtime support for the Hyde Amendment, which bans federal funding for abortion. And they get a kick out of Alec Baldwin sounding like a politician as he steps away from his Trump impression on “Saturday Night Live” and discuss why Baldwin’s performance never matched the impressions other cast members did of previous presidents.

Political Forgiveness, Hillary 2020, Is Every Democrat Running?

November 12, 2018 by GregC

Listen to “Political Forgiveness, Hillary 2020, Is Every Democrat Running?” on Spreaker.

Kevin Williamson of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America applaud Texas Rep.Elect Dan Crenshaw for forgiving Saturday Night Live’s mocking of his war injury and using the opportunity to explain how all of us can best honor veterans.  They also shudder as more Hillary Clinton acolytes insist she is planning to run for president in 2020 and will once again try to reinvent herself.  And they discuss the avalanche of Democrats planning to run for the White House in 2020, including many obscure figures who have virtually no chance of winning the nomination.

Pessimistic Polls, Second-Guessing GOP Strategy, SNL Mocks Wounded Veteran

November 5, 2018 by GregC

Listen to “Pessimistic Polls, Second-Guessing GOP Strategy, SNL Mocks Wounded Veteran” on Spreaker.

Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America wince at many of the final polls showing Democrats with the momentum in several key races.  They also wonder why Republicans have not spent most of their time and money discussing the strength of the economy instead of more polarizing issues like the caravan.  And they unload on Saturday Night Live comedian Pete Davidson for mocking Texas GOP congressional candidate Dan Crenshaw for wearing an eye patch and saying, “I’m sorry.  I know he lost his eye in war or whatever.”
