Trudeau in Trouble, Buttigieg Running for Michigan Governor? Are the Drones Looking for Nukes?

December 17, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Trudeau in Trouble, Buttigieg Running for Michigan Governor? Are the Drones Looking for Nukes?” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they note today’s official Electoral College vote and then launch into discussions about Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau being in deep political trouble, Pete Buttigieg fueling speculation about a run in Michigan politics, and whether there’s any reason to believe the “drones” are searching for nuclear weapons or dirty bombs.

First, they dive into the growing crisis for Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Facing mounting political pressure, Trudeau is in deep trouble as calls for his resignation intensify. Jim and Greg explain how Trump’s tariff threats are fueling the turmoil and why Canada’s conservatives could be on the brink of returning to power.

Next, they groan over speculation that Pete Buttigieg may run for governor in Michigan in 2026. Buttigieg has refused to rule out a bid, but questions linger over his qualifications. Jim points out that after moving to Michigan in 2020, Buttigieg has spent little time there during his tenure as Secretary of Transportation.

Finally, Jim addresses growing online theories that drones spotted over New Jersey and other areas are searching for nuclear weapons or dirty bombs. He methodically walks through the claims and explains why this theory likely doesn’t hold up to scrutiny.

ABC’s Trump Defamation Settlement, Dueling Drone Explanations, Trump & Big Labor

December 16, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “ABC’s Trump Defamation Settlement, Dueling Drone Explanations, Trump & Big Labor” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for 3 Martini Lunch as they react to ABC News agreeing to pay Donald Trump $16 million to settle his defamation lawsuit. They also discuss the many conflicting conclusions about the mysterious drones over New Jersey and analyze how Trump seems to be getting even closer to Big Labor.

First, Jim and Greg have some fun at the expense of ABC News and George Stephanopoulos after the network agrees to pay $16 million to settle Trump’s defamation lawsuit. The case stems from Stephanopoulos’ misrepresentation of the verdict in the E. Jean Carroll case. Jim highlights how Stephanopoulos has never fully distanced himself from his past as a Democratic operative while working in a prominent news role at ABC.

Next, Jim and Greg dive into the many conflicting theories about the drones spotted over New Jersey. Experts seem very confident in their explanations, but they can’t agree on what’s really happening in the skies. Jim breaks down the most plausible theories and offers his insights into which explanations seem the most far-fetched.

Finally, Jim and Greg discuss Trump’s public support for the International Longshoremen’s Association in its push against automation in U.S. ports. While they hate to see anyone lose their job, they argue that refusing to use modern technology to make ports more efficient is counterproductive. The hosts also question whether Trump’s stance is a political move to reward union support or a sign that he and the GOP are abandoning the Right to Work to align with Big Labor.

America Hates Hunter’s Pardon, Schiff’s Staggering Hypocrisy, What’s in the New Jersey Sky?

December 11, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “America Hates Hunter’s Pardon, Schiff’s Staggering Hypocrisy, What’s in the New Jersey Sky?” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they tackle Americans’ overwhelming rejection of President Biden pardoning his son, Sen. Adam Schiff’s sudden shift on political prosecutions, and a mysterious phenomenon in the New Jersey sky.

They kick off with an AP poll revealing just 22% of Americans support a Hunter Biden pardon. Opposition is strong across party lines, with independents and even many Democrats hesitant to back the move.

Next, they call out new California Sen. Adam Schiff, a former House Intelligence Committee chairman, for decrying presidential prosecutions in a democracy, despite his past vocal support for pursuing Trump over alleged Russia collusion. Jim also says Schiff has yet to pay any significant price for grossly misleading the American people during the Russia probe.

Finally, they delve into the strange sightings in the New Jersey sky. With drones or drone-like objects puzzling locals, the FBI and military both say they don’t know what’s happening. As a New Jersey native, Jim offers both serious and lighthearted theories on the mystery.

Iran Attacks Israel: Far Beyond a Symbolic Strike, Great Missile Defense, Biden Opposes Israeli Response

April 15, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Iran Attacks Israel: Far Beyond a Symbolic Strike, Great Missile Defense, Biden Opposes Israeli Response” on Spreaker.

Iran attacked Israel over the weekend, and Jim and Greg break down the good, bad, and crazy elements of this huge story.

First, they reject the notion that this was a largely symbolic attack from Iran – supposedly because everyone knew Iran’s weapons would not get past the missile defense capabilities in the region. But Jim points out that you don’t send hundreds of missiles and hundreds of drones if your effort is symbolic. They also chafe at reports that Biden (through Turkish intermediaries) told Iran to keep any attacks “within certain limits.” And they point out that Iran once again rejected Biden’s feeble insistence of “don’t” when asked about Iranian aggression.

Next, they cheer the excellence of execution by the U.S., Great Britain, Israel, Jordan, and even Saudi Arabia in thwarting the Iranian attack with missile defense and other collaboration. And they take a moment to give credit to the man who insisted on pursuing missile defense more than 40 years ago despite the derision of Democrats and the media – President Ronald Reagan.

Finally, they groan as Biden tells Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not to respond against Iran because the missile defense operation resulted in “a win” for Israel. That’s not how this works.

Jim Returns to Ukraine: War Update, A Complicated Ally, The Secret Drone Factory

April 5, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Jim Returns to Ukraine: War Update, A Complicated Ally, The Secret Drone Factory” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as Jim offers a fascinating recap of his recent return to Ukraine and describes what was different this time around. Plus, Jim’s recollection of a conversation with a former member of the Russian Duma who is now allied with Ukraine, and a very interesting look at the innovations happening right now to help Ukrainian soldiers.

First, Jim explains why he wanted to go back to Ukraine a little more than six months after his visit last summer. He also updates the war effort, the relentless Russian “meat waves,” the impact of U.S. aid  being on hold, and what conditions for an end to the war might be under consideration. They also discuss Ukraine’s policy of not holding elections while under martial law. Would it be better to demonstrate a commitment to democracy regardless of the circumstances or is it simply impossible to hold elections under the current circumstances?

Next, Jim recounts his meeting with Ilya Ponomarev, a former member of the Russian Duma who is now working with Ukraine against the Russians. His tactics are certainly fodder for debate but Jim explains why what Ponomarev is doing is quite courageous.

Finally, Jim describes his visit to a secret drone factory somewhere in Ukraine and shares as much as he can about the innovations happening to assist the war effort and the people working there. Jim may be the first western journalist to visit the plant.

Jim in Ukraine: Amazing People, Horrific Atrocities, & Some Truly Odd Moments

September 4, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Jim in Ukraine: Amazing People, Horrific Atrocities, & Some Truly Odd Moments” on Spreaker.

Last week, Jim returned to the U.S. after spending nearly two weeks in Ukraine and learning the depths of what the Ukrainian people have endured and how they remain determined to win the war against Russia.

In this Labor Day special, Jim chronicles the personal warmth and steely national resolve of the Ukrainian people, who have suffered immensely but face the future with hope. He also goes into detail about the repulsive war crimes committed by Russian forces in Bucha and beyond. And he also shares some unplanned adventures – from the unexpected difficulty getting into the country to hanging out in an anti-aircraft gun position with a Ukrainian Supreme Court justice.

Do not miss Jim’s fascinating, first-hand report. But listener discretion is advised. Some descriptions of the atrocities in Ukraine are a bit graphic.

Not Worried About Default, Decision Time on Hunter Biden, Russia’s Drone Strike Accusations

May 4, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Not Worried About Default, Decision Time on Hunter Biden, Russia’s Drone Strike Accusations” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they present two “good-ish” martinis and a crazy one. After a brief discussion on the declining quality of Star Wars shows and movies, they note how little lawmakers and President Biden plan to be in Washington this month. Jim suspects that schedule shows they are actually quite confident they’ll be able to reach a debt ceiling deal. They also welcome the news that we may soon know whether Hunter Biden will face any federal charges for his obvious violations of gun and tax laws, but they are not holding their breath. Finally, they dissect Russia’s claim that the U.S. is to blame for alleged drone strikes at the Kremlin.

Putin’s War Crippling Russia, Should We Bomb Convoys? Don’t Pour Out Your Vodka

March 3, 2022 by GregC

Listen to “Putin’s War Crippling Russia, Should We Bomb Convoys? Don’t Pour Out Your Vodka” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they highlight the economic devastation Vladimir Putin is bringing upon his own country  by waging the war on Ukraine. They also express concern about prominent figures suggesting the U.S. and NATO launch drone strikes against the Russian convoys because that could easily lead to very ugly outcomes. And from actions from the International Cat Federation to attacks on Russian-themed restaurants, many are going too far in their attempt to condemn the Russian regime.

Broward County Accountability, Libs Target Internet, Maduro Assassination Attempt

August 7, 2018 by GregC

Listen to “Broward County Accountability, Libs Target Internet, Maduro Assassination Attempt” on Spreaker.
Jim Geraghty of National Review and Greg Corombos of Radio America are pleased to see a key figure from the Florida high school shooting replaced in the Broward County Sheriff’s Office but are irritated the media has stopped covering Sheriff Scott Israel, who still has his job despite failing to perform his duties before and during the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. They also reject Democrats’ call to regulate the internet as a public utility in the wake of Facebook, Apple, and YouTube’s ban of conspiracy theorist Alex Jones. And they mourn for Venezuelans as dictator Nicolas Maduro survived a botched drone assassination attempt, and they discuss regulations on drones and the potential to use them for terrorism.

Optimism in Georgia Election, Hail to the Redskins, US Downs Syrian Drone

June 20, 2017 by GregC

Jim Geraghty of National Review and Rich McFadden of Radio America feeling optimistic after a recent poll shows that Republican Karen Handel has a slim lead over Democratic candidate Jon Ossoff in the Georgia runoff election. They also praise the Supreme Court which ruled unanimously in favor of protecting trademarks that some parties may consider offensive or disparaging. And they applaud the U.S. military as they down the third pro-Syrian regime aircraft this month, an action which prompted a harsh Russian response.
