Dems Fret Over Early Vote, Absentee Ballot Insanity, Kamala’s Cop Out on Crime

November 4, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Dems Fret Over Early Vote, Absentee Ballot Insanity, Kamala’s Cop Out on Crime” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they get you ready for Election Day! Today, they discuss how Democrat operatives are reportedly worrying about the intensity of early voting among registered Republicans, a series of concerning stories about absentee ballots, and Kamala Harris dodging a simple question about a crime referendum in California.

First, after a quick update on “Doris” and “Diane,” they dig into reports that Democrats are worried about the much greater number of registered Republicans taking part in early voting. So are GOP voters just spreading their votes out over more days or will there still be a significant surge on Election Day too?

Next, they react to a disturbing number of stories Jim collected about absentee ballot issues for today’s Morning Jolt. From way too many ballots showing up at people’s residences to ballots being stolen out of mailboxes and thousands of requested ballots not showing up at all, Jim and Greg point out the potential for problems with mail-in voting and suggest that early voting is much more secure and should replace a lot of mail-in voting.

Finally, they shake their heads as Kamala Harris, in a rare press availability, refuses to say how she voted on California’s referendum on tougher penalties for repeat theft and drug offenders. Jim blasts Harris for suddenly going silent after presenting herself as this no-nonsense prosecutor for the entire campaign.

Lousy Jobs Report, Early Vote Warnings for GOP, Controversial Campaign Comments

November 1, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Lousy Jobs Report, Early Vote Warnings for GOP, Controversial Campaign Comments” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they dive into the final weekend of the campaign with two bad martinis and a three-pronged crazy one. Today, they tackle a weak October jobs report, concerning early voting trends for the GOP, and a wave of controversial statements shaping the end of the campaign.

First, they are stunned by the October jobs report, which shows just 12,000 new jobs and a downward revision of 112,000 jobs for August and September. So the U.S. has lost 100,000 jobs in the past three months and the economy is still – by far – the top issue for voters. Jim also speculates on whether the looming election might be impacting these numbers.

Next, after highlighting the very strong early vote numbers for the GOP in Nevada earlier this week, trends in Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Michigan now appear to be favoring Democrats. Jim takes a closer look at these patterns and considers whether party registration accurately reflects voter decisions—especially in critical Rust Belt states.

Finally, they take three recent political comments and discuss how the media and opposing politicians are reacting to them. They dissect comments from Jimmy Kimmel about when Trump supporters should vote, Donald Trump’s statement about Liz Cheney, and Mark Cuban alleging that Trump doesn’t ever want to be around strong, intelligent women.

Mixed News for Nevada GOP, NYT Plays Speech Police, Ballot Drop Box Dangers

October 29, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Mixed News for Nevada GOP, NYT Plays Speech Police, Ballot Drop Box Dangers” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg in this episode of 3 Martini Lunch as they update the Democrats’ latest efforts to get donations from “Doris” and “Diane.” They also discuss key events affecting the GOP in Nevada, the New York Times’ partisan focus on “misinformation,” and more proof that ballot drop boxes are a terrible idea.

They kick things off with a fun update on recent Harris campaign fundraising pitches sent to the wrong recipients. Jim and Greg share the Democrats’ persistent attempts to get “Doris” and “Diane” (who are really just Greg and Jim) to donate—and the various psychological tactics they use that have no chance of working.

Moving to the Nevada battleground, they discuss the latest mixed results for the GOP. Early voting trends show Republicans gaining a lot of ground in this cycle, but a recent Nevada Supreme Court ruling allows mail-in ballots to be counted even if received days after Election Day and without a postmark.

They also tackle the latest efforts from the left-leaning media to target online conservative content. Ben Shapiro highlighted an email he received from a New York Times reporter about an upcoming piece that critiques right-leaning YouTube channels based on data from the Soros-funded Media Matters for America. They slam the Times’ reliance on the far-left MMFA’s analysis and the implications for conservative voices online.

Finally, they cover disturbing reports from Washington and Oregon of incendiary devices placed in ballot drop boxes, leading to some serious ballot damage. Jim and Greg want the perpetrators punished severely, but they also see this as just the latest sign that ballot drop boxes are a terrible idea for people interested in fair and secure elections.

Israel Permanently Sidelines Sinwar Georgia Shatters Voting Records, Kamala vs. Bret Baier

October 17, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Israel Permanently Sidelines Sinwar Georgia Shatters Voting Records, Kamala vs. Bret Baier” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they serve up three good martinis. In today’s episode, they discuss the death of Hamas military leader Yahya Sinwar, Georgia’s record-breaking early voting turnout, and Kamala Harris’s tough interview on Fox News.

First, they discuss the likely death of Hamas military leader Yahya Sinwar during an IDF operation in Gaza, which was later confirmed. Sinwar, the mastermind behind the October 7th terrorist attacks on Israel last year, had a notorious history of hatred against Israel and exploitation of people in Gaza. While Israel wasn’t specifically targeting Sinwar, in this operation Jim and Greg highlight Israel’s effectiveness in eliminating top terrorist leaders in recent months.

Next, they explore Georgia’s record-shattering early voting numbers, smashing Democratic narratives from 2021 that compared GOP-led voting reforms to Jim Crow-era laws. The left’s predictions of voter suppression have been thoroughly debunked by the sheer volume of early votes cast. Greg also points out that Republicans are actively encouraging early voting, reducing reliance on Election Day turnout.

Finally, they analyze Kamala Harris’s interview on Fox News with Bret Baier. Jim gives Harris some credit for appearing on the show, while praising Baier for pressing her with tough questions on the border crisis and Biden’s cognitive health. However, they ultimately conclude that Harris struggled to directly address these issues or effectively defend her record.
