Kamala Confirms No Gaps with Biden, Finally Facing Tough Questions, GOP Senate Momentum

October 8, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Kamala Confirms No Gaps with Biden, Finally Facing Tough Questions, GOP Senate Momentum” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they serve up three good martinis. Today, they discuss Kamala Harris confirming she and Joe Biden had no major policy differences, Harris getting some tough questions frfrom “60 Minutes”, and Republicans gaining ground in three critical Midwest Senate races. Oh, and of course Jim has a couple of thoughts about the New York Jets firing their head coach.

First, they react to Kamala Harris telling the ladies on “The View” that “there’s not a thing that comes to mind” when asked whether there was anything she would have done differently than President Biden. She also says she was a part of every major decision Biden made. Jim says this completely ties her to Biden’s unpopular record and he is stunned she didn’t come up with a single difference.

Next, they applaud Bill Whitaker of “60 Minutes” for asking Kamala Harris tough questions and good follow-up questions, especially on the Biden administration’s handling of the border crisis. Jim and Greg also critique Harris’s word salad responses, as she tried to deflect blame onto Republicans while struggling to defend the administration’s failures on immigration.

Finally, Jim and Greg discuss the momentum shift in three key Senate races. With only four weeks left in the campaign, Republicans are gaining ground in Wisconsin, Ohio, and Michigan. Wisconsin is now considered a toss-up, Ohio polling shows a dead heat, and Michigan is within the margin of error, signaling that the GOP could make critical gains in these battleground states.

Kari Lake Getting Swamped, The Vanishing President, Biden Nixed Gaza Pier Objections

August 29, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Kari Lake Getting Swamped, The Vanishing President, Biden Nixed Gaza Pier Objections” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for what Jim is describing as the “we told you so” edition of 3 Martini Lunch! Today, they discuss a new poll showing Kari Lake getting crushed in the Arizona U.S. Senate race, the public disappearance of President Biden, and a report showing Biden overruled his advisers in insisting upon the ill-fated Gaza pier.

First, they sigh as a new Fox News poll shows far-left Rep. Ruben Gallego leading Republican Kari Lake by 15 points in the Arizona Senate race. Even if the poll is a bit of an outlier, other surveys show Lake trailing by high single digits. The GOP should be able to field very competitive candidates in Arizona, but Kari Lake is not one of them.

Next, they wonder whatever happened to the guy who is apparently still the president. Biden seems to be in the witness protection program since dropping out of the presidential race, with the exception of his late night convention speech. So is he actually on the job?

Finally, they shake their heads as an inspector general’s report shows that USAID officials tried to convince Biden not to construct the Gaza pier because even small waves would render it useless. But Biden rejected their advice and went forward with the operation anyway.

Virginia & the Voter Rolls, Kamala’s Dodging & A Compliant Media, Walz & His Mom

August 12, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Virginia & the Voter Rolls, Kamala’s Dodging & A Compliant Media, Walz & His Mom” on Spreaker.

Jim Geraghty is back after a much-deserved vacation and weathering the remnants of Hurricane Debby. Join Jim and Greg as they cheer Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin and his team for their due diligence in preparing for the elections, scold the AP and other media for allowing Kamala Harris to dodge serious questions for three weeks and counting, and slamming Tim Walz for forcing his own 87-year-old mom to isolate after heart surgery during Covid.

First, they applaud Virginia for doing what Jim calls the “basic blocking and tacking of government” and making sure the commonwealth’s voter rolls are up to date. In doing so, officials found 80,000 dead people still eligible to vote along with more than 6,300 non-citizens. This shouldn’t be that hard to update. So why isn’t every state doing it?

Next, they shake their heads as the media are still pandering to Kamala Harris and only offering the softest criticism for her refusal to take serious questions for more than three weeks since President Biden ended his campaign.  Even worse, media outlets like the Associated Press are running stories downplaying the importance of candidates engaging in sit-down interviews.

Finally, they shudder at video from the pandemic in which Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz says he made his 87-year-old mother live alone right after heart surgery because he feared negative headlines if his mom came to live with him. So instead of amending his own draconian stay-at-home orders to help his mom and to allow anyone to care for a loved one who needed assistance, he decided enforcing the shutdown orders were more important.

Dems Still Stuck, Biden’s Gaffes & Gaslighting, RNC’s Regrettable Guest Speaker

July 12, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Dems Still Stuck, Biden’s Gaffes & Gaslighting, RNC’s Regrettable Guest Speaker” on Spreaker.

Today, Jim and Greg discuss President Biden’s press conference last night and how Democrats are still twisting in the wind. They also highlight Biden’s embarrassing verbal fumbles. And they weigh in on the news that former stripper and Kanye West girlfriend Amber Rose will speak at the Republican National Convention.

They begin with an overview of the press conference. Jim notes that while it was not bad by Biden standards, that still does not make it remotely good.

Next, they highlight some of Biden’s worst gaffes from the conference, including referring to President Zelensky as President Putin and to VP Kamala Harris as “Vice President Trump.” Greg notes Biden’s horribly revionist view of the economy and his ongoing demonization if Israel. Jim says Dems should be shuddering over Biden’s statement that he would refuse to step down even if the polls hypothetically showed that Kamala Harris was more likely to beat Trump than him.

Finally, they lament the Republican National Convention’s unfortunate speaker choice of Amber Rose, an ex-stripper who dated Kanye West and has several other tawdry items on her resume. Jim wonders whose idea it was to pick Rose, observing that this decision makes the RNC seem desperate for anyone remotely famous.

Iran’s President Killed, Biden’s Racial Demagoguery, Lake Looks Like a Loser

May 20, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Iran’s President Killed, Biden’s Racial Demagoguery, Lake Looks Like a Loser” on Spreaker.

Greg is back on a busy news day, as he and Jim discuss the death of Iran’s president, Biden’s disgustingly divisive commencement speech, and the GOP latching on to a loser in the Arizona U.S Senate race.

First, they shed zero tears upon the death of radical Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and three other officials in a helicopter crash on Sunday. They document Raisi’s murderous record and why his death is not worth mourning, but they also note that not much will change anytime soon for the Iranian people eager to be free.

Next, they hammer President Biden for his racially divisive demagoguery in his commencement address at Morehouse College in Georgia. They not only dissect the appalling lies in the speech but also what it tells us about how Biden and his advisers see the state of the 2024 campaign.

Finally, they groan as a new poll shows Democrat Ruben Gallego leading Republican Kari Lake by a wide margin in the Arizona Senate race. They see Lake as a surefire loser with way too much political baggage and urge GOP voters there to pick a nominee who would be far better at the job and would actually have a chance at winning in November.

More Encampments Forced to End, Biden’s Late Lurch to the Truth, Could Nevada Go Red?

May 2, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “More Encampments Forced to End, Biden’s Late Lurch to the Truth, Could Nevada Go Red?” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they discuss more campus crackdowns, how the left really offers little besides destruction, President Biden condemning illegal protests only after they’ve finally been dealt with, and whether Trump and other Republicans might actually have a shot at winning in Nevada this year.

First, they welcome California authorities ending the trespassing protests at UCLA and they also get a kick out of these agitators demonizing the University of California system as being a product of  colonialism. They also notice that these “encampments” are all coming down around the same time. Coincidence?

Next, they largely agree with President Biden’s comments on Thursday defending the right to protest peacefully but denouncing demonstrators who trespass, vandalize, and threaten other people. But where was this a week or two ago? Why does the statement only come now as the protests end?

Finally, they dig into Nevada polling numbers and wonder whether Donald Trump can be the first GOP nominee to win the state in 20 years or whether the Silver State will prove to be fool’s gold for Republicans yet again.

Baltimore Bridge Disaster, Trump’s Lower Bond, Biden Betrays Israel, NBC Revolts Over Ronna

March 26, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Baltimore Bridge Disaster, Trump’s Lower Bond, Biden Betrays Israel, NBC Revolts Over Ronna” on Spreaker.

Former Chief Assistant U.S. Attorney and National Review Contributing Editor Andy McCarthy is in for Jim today. Today, they cover four stories for the price of three martinis.

Before getting to the official martinis, Andy and Greg discuss the cargo ship hitting and collapsing the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore. Andy cautions people from jumping to conclusions but also warns authorities not to rule out anything publicly just for the sake of trying to keep people calm.

Next, Andy breaks down Monday’s appeals court decision in New York, which reduced Donald Trump’s bond in the civil fraud case to $175 million. Andy says it was a good decision but explains why the bond should be even lower.

Then, they unload on President Biden and his advisers for abandoning Israel by allowing a United Nations ceasefire resolution to pass out of the UN Security Council. Biden has been growing colder and colder towards Israel in an effort to shore up votes, but Andy explains how Biden is simply continuing the Obama-era policy of appointing Islamists to influential government positions.

Finally, they get a kick out of NBC and MSNBC anchors blasting their own bosses on the air for making former Republican National Committee Chair Ronna Romney McDaniel a paid contributor. Watching all the MSNBC personalities pretend the uproar is about something other than hiring a Republican is very amusing.

Voters Reject Biden Migrant Flights, The Trump-Media ‘Bloodbath’, The Dems’ Kamala Problem

March 18, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Voters Reject Biden Migrant Flights, The Trump-Media ‘Bloodbath’, The Dems’ Kamala Problem” on Spreaker.

Inez Stepman of the Independent Women’s Forum and host of the “High Noon” podcast is in for Jim. Today, Inez and Greg discuss discerning voters, a thoroughly dishonest mainstream media, and the Dems getting awfully defensive about Kamala Harris.
First, they welcome a new poll showing 60 percent of likely voters opposing the Biden administration flying hundreds of thousands of migrants into the U.S. who have no legal justification for being here. And 46 percent strongly oppose it. They also take time to slam Senate GOP leadership for being so out of touch with the public and even their own members by thinking the Senate immigration bill would be acceptable to most Republicans.
Next, they dissect the absurdly dishonest media reporting that Donald Trump promised a “bloodbath” for this country if he is not elected in November, when the context of the quote makes it painfully obvious he was saying the auto industry would see a bloodbath if Biden gets four more years. They also discuss how there are a dwindling number of places to find the truth in situations like these.
Finally, they get a kick out of the left excoriating anti-Trump Washington Post columnist Kathleen Parker for suggesting Vice President Kamala Harris should step down from the ticket because the VP’s deep unpopularity creates another liability for a president who has quite a few already. The response to Parker’s suggestion consisted of the typical accusations of racism, misogyny, and everything except the actual merits of the argument. Inez explains why she finds it “beautiful” to see the left coming face-to-face with the reality that Harris was hired based on diversity instead of competence and the results are disastrous.

Dems vs. Biden on Natural Gas, Sen. Murphy’s Stunning Admission, Biden’s Chats with Dead People

February 8, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Dems vs. Biden on Natural Gas, Sen. Murphy’s Stunning Admission, Biden’s Chats with Dead People” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for three very revealing martinis today.
First, they welcome Democrats from Pennsylvania and Ohio begging President Biden to reconsider his pause on liquefied natural gas exports to some countries because it’s bad for their states’ economies – not to mention an obvious effort to pander to environmental activists.
Then they’re stunned to see Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy admit on national television that “undocumented Americans” are the “people we care about most” in the immigration debate. But as as absurd as that thinking is, Jim thinks Murphy just handed Republicans a huge gift for this election cycle.
Finally, they chronicle how President Biden’s verbal stumbles, lapses in memory, and overall mental decline are now obvious multiple times per day. The latest examples include forgetting the name of Hamas and repeated telling a story from 2021 and referencing leaders from France and Germany who not only haven’t held office this century but have been dead for years.

Phillips’ Surprising Showing, Nikki Haley & Non-Republican Votes, Does Putin Want Alaska Back?

January 25, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Phillips’ Surprising Showing, Nikki Haley & Non-Republican Votes, Does Putin Want Alaska Back?” on Spreaker.

The New Hampshire primaries are in the books and we’ve got two martinis reviewing the votes and one other truly crazy idea.

First, they applaud Minnesota Rep. Dean Phillips for getting nearly 20 percent of the vote on the Democrats’ side even though the primary was non-binding. They also appreciate him being only one of the few Democrats bothering to speak with Trump supporters and not writing them off as unredeemable like President Biden often does.

Then they react to Donald Trump’s double-digit win over Nikki Haley in the Republican primary. And with Haley winning a large majority of unaffiliated voters, does this indicate that these voters are gettable for the GOP or were they just creating mischief?

Finally, they react to conflicting reports that Vladimir Putin is seeking to restore additional territory that once belonged to Russia – including Alaska.
