Some of our favorite episodes are the ones where you ask Jim and Greg questions and they offer their takes on politics, sports, pop culture or whatever else is on your mind.
Today, they analyze why people with no chance of being elected president decide to run for the office anyway and respond to a listener who wants the people to have a say on who Jim and Greg label as the poster child for generic Republicans.
They also take on a question about how to tame the administrative state and stop unelected government bureaucrats from making rules and de facto laws. Would it help to adopt a constitutional amendment explaining that power rests only in Congress?

Jim Geraghty is back! After a brief discussion about the confusing Russian coup, Jim and Greg dive into three domestic issues today. First, they’re happy to see the White House press corps – even some of the usually compliant members – demanding answers about President Biden’s apparent involvement in Hunter Biden’s business deals after Biden repeatedly insisted he knew nothing about them. They also roll their eyes as former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who has been in Congress for more than 36 years, calls for term limits for Supreme Court justices. Finally, they push back hard after Attorney General Merrick Garland suggests any accusation of political favoritism coming from the Justice Department is “an attack on an institution that is essential to American democracy.” Jim shreds Garland for suggesting criticism of the DOJ is somehow out of bounds, when it’s one of our most basic rights and freedoms.

They also fume as IRS whistleblowers tell Congress that the Justice Department repeatedly meddled in the Hunter Biden investigation by tipping off Hunter’s lawyers at times, forbidding the U.S. attorney from opening multiple investigations, and discouraging the investigation of incriminating messages. Finally, they shudder at the the legislative push in Ireland to “restrict freedom for the common good,” which is always the argument for the government stealing our liberties and giving itself more power.

The conversations allegedly prove the Bidens engaged in bribery while Joe was Vice President. They then assess The No Labels statement that it will not run a candidate in 2024 should Trump lose the GOP nomination. Finally, they shake their heads at The Washington Post’s misleading headline that reported bomb threats “over Pride merchandise”. However, much later in the story we learn that the threats came from extremists who were upset that Target “betrayed the LGBTQ+ community”.
