Daniel Penny Acquitted, Bragg’s Assault on Safety, Lefties Excuse CEO Killer

December 10, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Daniel Penny Acquitted, Bragg’s Assault on Safety, Lefties Excuse CEO Killer” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg on 3 Martini Lunch as they breathe a sigh of relief over the Daniel Penny verdict, condemn Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg’s disastrous impact on public safety, and unpack the shocking story of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson’s alleged killer.

First, they applaud the New York City jury for acquitting Daniel Penny of criminally negligent homicide after he restrained a threatening subway passenger. Jim and Greg argue that Penny, who acted as a Good Samaritan, should never have faced charges and are relieved he won’t face imprisonment for protecting others.

First, they’re very glad to see a New York City jury acquit Daniel Penny on a charge of criminally negligent homicide after restraining a man on the subway who had been threatening and menacing numerous passengers. Penny should never have faced charges and should have been commended for his actions, but at least he won’t be incarcerated for being a Good Samaritan.

Next, they criticize media outlets for badly misrepresenting the facts of the Penny case and spotlight the head of Black Lives Matter in New York City for calling for black vigilantes. Despite Penny’s acquittal, they warn that Alvin Bragg’s actions as district attorney discourage people from intervening to protect their neighbors, leaving New Yorkers less safe.

Finally, they react to the arrest of Luigi Mangione, the Ivy League graduate accused of killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. They discuss how the details of the case contradict widespread assumptions and condemn commentators who justify or celebrate the murder due to grievances with health insurance practices.

Trump Tariff Threats Motivate Mexico, Esquire’s Pardon Fiasco, CEO’s Shocking Manhattan Murder

December 5, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Trump Tariff Threats Motivate Mexico, Esquire’s Pardon Fiasco, CEO’s Shocking Manhattan Murder” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for 3 Martini Lunch as they unpack Trump’s tariff threats already reaping results in Mexico, humiliating missteps for Esquire and Ana Navarro regarding Biden’s pardon, and the shocking murder of a health insurance CEO in midtown Manhattan.

First, they highlight Mexico’s record-breaking fentanyl seizure just days after Trump threatened tariffs on Canada and Mexico for failing to curb illegal crossings and drug trafficking. They explore how Trump’s tough stance appears to be delivering swift action.

Next, they dive into the comedic fallout as Charles Pierce of Esquire and Ana Navarro of The View attempt to spin President Biden’s pardon of Hunter Biden with laughably false claims. Jim underscores the importance of basic fact-checking and common sense to avoid such embarrassing misfires.

Finally, they analyze the chilling murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in Manhattan. Jim and Greg not only examine the emerging details of the case but also call out the disturbing rhetoric suggesting the CEO “deserved” it due to frustrations over denied insurance claims.

Milei Speaks Truth to the UN, Our Reckless Sanctuary Cities, Leftist Prints Iran-Hacked Trump Docs

September 27, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Milei Speaks Truth to the UN, Our Reckless Sanctuary Cities, Leftist Prints Iran-Hacked Trump Docs” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they wrap up the week by analyzing Argentinian President Javier Milei’s powerful speech at the United Nations, the dangers of sanctuary cities, and a leftist writer who published hacked Trump campaign materials provided by Iran.

First, they praise President Milei for condemning the socialist agenda at the United Nations, calling out the UN for coddling autocrats, constantly criticizing Israel, and empowering repressive regimes in shaping policies on women’s rights. Jim also provides an update on Milei’s economic reforms in Argentina and how they are progressing.

Next, they express outrage over sanctuary cities and counties that endanger residents by releasing dangerous criminal illegals before federal immigration officials can detain them. And it happens over and over again. They focus on a specific case in Jim’s backyard in Fairfax County, Virginia, where an illegal immigrant was released three times after arrests for violent crimes.

Finally, they’re disgusted by far-left writer Ken Klippenstein, who published a hacked Trump campaign dossier on JD Vance that was provided by Iran but rejected by Democrats and other media outlets. They explain what really got Klippenstein suspended from X and why his behavior crosses a line in journalism.

Kamala Mangles MSNBC Interview, NYC Mayor Indicted, Biden Gaslights on Retirement

September 26, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Kamala’s Confusing MSNBC Interview, NYC Mayor Adams Indicted, Biden Gaslights on 2024 Decision” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they assess Kamala’s weak performance on MSNBC, New York City Mayor Eric Adams getting indicted in a federal foreign bribery case, and President Biden trying to gaslight America and the world about why he’s not still running for president.
First, they get a kick out of Kamala Harris struggling mightily to answer very basic questions from MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle. Harris seemed to have no insights on tariffs or what she would do if Congress didn’t pass a corporate tax increase if she were elected. She also delivered another notorious word salad. Jim and Greg debate whether her poor performance is due to incompetence or an attempt to conceal her radical agenda.
Next, they react to New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ federal indictment for allegedly taking bribes from Turkish officials to expedite a questionable construction project. They discuss the implosion of Adams’ administration, whether his criticism of the migrant crisis played a role in the indictment, and the disgraced figure who may be eyeing a political comeback.
Finally, they debunk President Biden’s claim that his decision to step down in July was a selfless move for the good of the nation. Jim and Greg argue that Biden’s narrative, presented during his U.N. speech and appearance on The View, overlooks pressure from top Democrats pushing him out of the 2024 race.

Trump Targeted for Assassination…Again

September 16, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Trump Targeted for Assassination…Again” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they dissect an assassination attempt against Donald Trump for the second time this summer. Today, they walk through the disturbing details of what happened in Florida on Sunday, the callous reaction in the media and beyond, and some of the bright spots that we can also see.

First, they walk through a lot of the facts in this case as laid out by law enforcement. There seems to have been a much more competent response than there was in Pennsylvania. But some frustrating questions still linger based on what what we know so far.

Next, they highlight media figures like NBC’s Lester Holt and MSNBC’s Alex Witt appearing to blame Trump’s rhetoric for the latest attempt against his life and suggesting it’s Trump who needs to tone down his statements.

Finally, they’re thankful for a very observant U.S. Secret Service agent whose vigilance stopped the threat to Trump’s life before it could materialize. They’re also grateful to learn Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis plans to have state authorities investigate what happened.

Hunter Biden Pleads Guilty, Charging School Shooters’ Parents, GOP Senate Outlook

September 6, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Hunter Biden Pleads Guilty, Charging School Shooters’ Parents, GOP Senate Outlook” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for three complicated martinis to close out the week. They discuss Hunter Biden deciding to plead guilty to federal tax charges, whether parents of school shooters ought to face criminal charges, and the forecast for this years U.S. Senate elections.
First, they focus on Hunter Biden abandoning his plan to go to trial and a subsequent plan to plead guilty without admitting guilt on federal tax charges. Now that he’s simply pleading guilty, what does that mean for sentencing, the chances his father pardons him and more? Jim says it’s all further proof of one thing – that the critics of Hunter Biden were right and Joe Biden and a lot of other Democrats and media apologists were wrong or flat out lying.
Second, they examine this week’s horrific, deadly school shooting at a Georgia high school and mull over whether officials are right to charge the shooter’s father with two counts of second degree murder and four counts of involuntary manslaughter for failing to keep guns away from his 14-year-old son who had already been evaluated as a possible threat. Are charges like this a good way to keep parents more vigilant and accountable for their kids’ actions and for their own actions or does criminal blame belong solely with the killer?
Finally, they examine the U.S. Senate map this year. And while odds look favorable for Republicans to reclaim a slim majority, there are several other seats held by Democrats which should be vulnerable. But so far the GOP challengers are consistently trailing.

Hamas Murders Hostages, Illegals Causing Criminal Chaos, The Constitution Is a Threat?

September 3, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Hamas Murders Hostages, Illegals Causing Criminal Chaos, The Constitution Is a Threat?” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for three lousy martinis that all have a strong crazy streak too. After Greg recaps his visit to the Calvin Coolidge presidential site in Vermont, they condemn Hamas for murdering  hostages as well as the Biden administration’s reaction. They also shudder as illegals are comprising a huge percentage of arrests in New York City but the laws are working against the law-abiding public. And they tear apart a New York Times column for saying the Constitution may be a threat to our politics.

First, they recoil at Hamas murdering six hostages, including American Hersh Goldberg-Polin. But they’re also staggered that the immediate media and Biden administration reaction is to put more pressure on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to cut a deal with the bloodthirsty terrorists who orchestrated the October 7th attacks and just slaughtered several innocent people.

Next, they fume as police sources in New York report that 75 percent of assault, robbery, and domestic violence arrests in Midtown Manhattan are of illegal immigrants, and they estimate the number to be 60 percent in Queens. If that weren’t bad enough, they explain how sanctuary city laws mean the perpetrators are often freed and officers can’t check their legal status or work with Immigration & Customs Enforcement.

Finally, they shake their heads as a New York Times column suggests the Constitution is a threat to our politics because of undemocratic aspects like the Electoral College and small states getting the same number of senators as larger states. Oh, and they they say the originalist bent of the current Supreme Court is a problem because the justices dare to seek out what the Founding Fathers meant when they wrote the Constitution.

Cheatle Resigns, Kamala Uncontested, Dems Ghost Netanyahu

July 23, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Cheatle Resigns, Kamala Uncontested, Dems Ghost Netanyahu” on Spreaker.

Today, Jim and Greg discuss Kim Cheatle’s resignation as director of U.S. Secret Service, the swift ascendance of Kamala Harris as the Democrats’ nominee, and Biden & Harris can’t be bothered to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on his visit to the U.S.
First, they toast a good martini to Cheatle’s resignation after a disastrous performance before the House Oversight and Accountability Committee. Jim sees some clear parallels between her resignation and President Biden stepping down from his campaign.
Next, they observe how Vice President Harris successfully cleared the field to be the next presidential nominee, securing the endorsement of top Democrats and a majority of DNC delegates. Greg points out the irony in how quickly the party of “defending democracy” was to shut down any chance of a robust primary.
Finally, they talk about Prime Minister Netanyahu’s visit to the United State and how neither Biden nor Harris seem to have any time for him. Jim points out the impropriety of this and says it only adds to questions about who is running the country right now.

Powerful Convention Moments, Biden Panders to the Far Left, Cheatle’s Sloppy ‘Slope’ Excuse

July 17, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Powerful Convention Moments, Biden Panders to the Far Left, Cheatle’s Sloppy ‘Slope’ Excuse” on Spreaker.

Today, Jim and Greg discuss the most compelling and important moments from the Republican National Convention Tuesday evening, President Biden’s pandering to the hard left, and U.S. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle’s unsatisfying interview about the assassination attempt against Donald Trump.

First, they review convention speeches from former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, as Haley sought to unite the party and DeSantis took a blowtorch to Biden and his record. They also highlight Madeline Brame’s impassioned speech soft-on-crime policies of Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg and other far left prosecutors. Jim believes that Nikki Haley’s speech may turn out to be the most impactful in the coming election in moving the needle for Trump skeptics.

Next, they shake their heads as Biden scrambles to save his campaign by appealing to hardline progressives with promises of federal rent control in a gaffe-filled speech. Jim is bewildered at why Democrats are pushing so hard to make him the nominee, seemingly terrified of a delegate fight this late in the election cycle.

Finally, they put the spotlight on an interview that Director Cheatle did with ABC News, which raised more questions than it answered about how the shooter gained access to the roof of a building just 400 feet from Trump. They hope to see investigations and hearings that hold the Secret Service to  greater accountability, but are resigned to the fact that Cheatle will not be stepping down and probably won’t be fired.

Portland Dumps Woke DA, Michigan GOP’s Petition Mishaps, College Students Resist Reading

May 22, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Woke Portland DA Dumped, Michigan GOP’s Petition Mishaps, College Students Resist Reading” on Spreaker.

Greg and Jim dive into the latest conservative victories in the justice system, the Michigan GOP’s latest trouble with accusations of  fraudulent signatures, and the rise of college students’ mulish insistence on not completing assigned reading.
First, they kick off the episode with a double fisted martini: woke Portland DA Mike Schmidt looks like he will be ousted from office for his soft-on-crime policies. Additionally, Georgia Supreme Court Justice Andrew Pinson successfully fended off the challenge of former Rep. John Barrow, who campaigned primarily on a pro-abortion platform.
Next, they sigh and shake their heads at the Michigan GOP, which never seems to learn its lesson, as candidates are coming under fire for allegedly committing ballot signature fraud once again. They examine the poor condition that much of state-level GOP management has fallen into, in Michigan and beyond, and why gathering petition signatures is one of the most basic parts of politics.
Finally, they find themselves bewildered by the latest trend among college students, who are constantly demanding that professors lower coursework expectations and workload. They point out the paradox that, while Ivy League schools are getting more and more selective, college students across the board are learning less and show poorer work ethic than past generations.
