Undisputed King of Stuff, columnist, and longtime Ricochet Editor-in-Chief Jon Gabriel is in for Jim today.
Today, Jon and Greg react to Russian President Vladimir Putin saying he prefers President Biden over former President Trump, calling Biden “more experienced and more predictable.” Trump calls it a compliment while Biden supporters say Putin is trying some reverse psychology.
They also recoil as Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell tells National Review he doesn’t know how U.S. ammunition and ordnance will get replenished unless the Ukraine aid bill gets passed. Regardless of what anyone thinks of assistance for Ukraine, why in the world is our own national security dependent on this legislation?
Finally, Jon takes an extra shot of espresso as he flays the latest efforts to urge people to stay away from coffee. Last time, the fun police said coffee was harming the planet. Now they claim caffeine is dangerous to your health. Jon isn’t buying that for a second.

Listen to “Three Martinis with Dana Perino” on Spreaker.
Today, Jim and Greg once again take the rare step of bringing a special guest to the 3 Martini Lunch. Today, they welcome in former White House Press Secretary Dana Perino, who is now co-host of “The Five” and “America’s Newsroom” on the Fox News Channel. She was also a moderator for one of the Republican presidential primary debates.
They begin with a discussion of the White House press office, how Perino approached the job during the final years of the George W. Bush administration, how Karine Jean-Pierre is handling the duties, and where the blame properly lies for the communications problems within the Biden White House.
Next, they turn to the 2024 presidential campaign and why Perino believes the report from Special Counsel Robert Hur amounts to the “death knell” for the Biden re-election campaign. They also examine how to maintain viewer interest when the major party primaries are very one-sided, and her thoughts after seeing the results of the Nevada GOP primary.
Finally, they reflect upon Perino’s opportunity to co-moderate one of the Republican primary presidential debates, what it was like to be in the middle of the fray, and why she believes the current format of debates no longer serve the public well.

Finally, they hammer President Biden’s low-energy, mumbling nonsense about how he is fed up with “shrinkflation” and companies charging the same amount for less product. Not only does Biden pretend this isn’t directly related to his inflationary policies but Jim points out that this exposes his own false narrative about the supposed success of “Bidenomics.”

Listen to “Joe Biden’s Damage Control Disaster” on Spreaker.
Join Jim and Greg as they break down many aspects of what may be one of the most damaging days to Joe Biden’s presidency.
First, they begin with the news that Special Counsel Robert Hur is recommending no charges against Biden despite his conclusion that Biden “willfully retained and disclosed classified material.” But Biden’s day got much worse very fast when Hur said one of the reasons there would be no charges is because a jury would likely see Biden as “a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,” who could not remember when exactly he was vice president or when his son, Beau, died. That left the Biden team crowing about the absence of charges but denouncing one the of the key arguments about why there should be no charges.
Then they break down the disastrous Biden press conference, in which he denied disclosing any classified material, blamed any improper storage of classified documents on his staff, and then wrongly said Abdel Fattah El-Sisi was president of Mexico instead of Egypt.
Finally, they shake their heads at assertions that the reporters at the press conference were behaving in an “awful” and “revolting” manner and wonder what Biden’s communications team was thinking setting up this press conference in the first place.

Join Jim and Greg as they document the potential good news and definitely bad and crazy news for the Republican Party.
First, they react to the news that Republican National Committee Chair Ronna Romney McDaniel will reportedly resign following the GOP South Carolina primary later this month. They chronicle her very unimpressive record on elections, fundraising, and leadership, and how tough the job will be for whoever follows her.
Then, they grimace as House Republicans fail to pass two very high-profile pieces of legislation on Tuesday, namely the impeachment of Homeland Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and military aid for Israel. It is a very slim majority for the GOP, but knowing whether you have the votes to pass things is should be obvious.
Finally, they’re unimpressed as Donald Trump suddenly says it’s time to let bygones be bygones with Bud Light after the Dylan Mulvaney fiasco from last year, because he thinks Anheuser-Busch is a good company. But there seem to be other reasons for this sudden declaration.

Join Jim and Greg as they dive into three big martinis today!
First, they welcome Dartmouth’s decision to once again use the SAT as a factor in admissions. Not only is it one of several valuable tools when considering an application, but Jim’s reporting also shows that efforts to get rid of the SAT actually hurt minority applicants.
Next, they groan as the U.S. military response of warning Iran when and where our airstrikes would happen obviously did nothing to correct Iran’s antagonistic behavior – as evidenced by another attack that killed six people working alongside the U.S.
Finally, they get a good laugh from Democrats pretending they care about having a secure border and trying to position themselves as the hawks and Republicans as obstructionists if the GOP opposes one particular bill. The latest example is MSNBC’s Al Sharpton suddenly calling the illegal immigration crisis an “invasion.”

Join Jim and Greg as they dissect horrible polling numbers for President Biden, an easy win for him in the South Carolina primary, and the absolute non-starter of a border security bill.
First, they dig through an NBC poll showing Biden not only trailing Donald Trump but getting trounced by large margins on issues ranging from border security to the economy to crime to America’s standing in the world. And the approval numbers for Vice President Kamala Harris are even worse than Biden’s.
They also shudder as the early warnings about the contents of a border security bill are proven accurate – from allowing nearly 5,000 illegal entries per day in perpetuity to liberally issued work permits for those waiting to have their alleged asylum claims ruled upon.
Finally, polling regularly shows that Democrats are leery about having President Biden as their nominee again in 2024 but you’d never know it by how easily he crushed his low-profile rivals in Saturday’s South Carolina primary. Turnout may have been exceedingly low, but it’s obvious that neither of his challengers provide much appeal for the base.

Join Jim and Greg for good, bad, and crazy martinis to wrap up the work week!
First, they’re impressed as the U.S. economy added 353,000 jobs in January – nearly double the amount expected. They also discuss the potential political impact of reports like this on the 2024 campaign and some additional caveats to the strong numbers.
Then they sigh as squad member and Massachusetts Rep. Ayanna Pressley accuses Walgreen’s of racial discrimination for closing a second store in her district instead of exploring what other reasons the company would have for shutting down that location.
Finally, they fume after a shocking report from Red State shows how the Republican National Committee recklessly spent of money on flowers, limousines, consultants, and office supplies, while the Democratic National Committee focused expenditures on Get Out the Vote campaigns, maintaining voter files, and helping other Dem organizations. And the news only gets worse from there.
