Biden’s ‘Brutal’ Poll, China as Peacemaker? Sinema Staying Independent

May 8, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Biden’s ‘Brutal’ Poll, China as Peacemaker? Sinema Staying Independent” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they offer two good martinis and one that’s so bad it might be considered crazy. First, they welcome the public’s accurate, “brutal” assessment of Biden’s job performance in a new ABC News/Washington Post poll. Not only is Biden looking at some of his lowest approval numbers, but a huge majority sees him as mentally unfit and his own party overwhelmingly does not want him to run again. They also shudder as the Biden administration warms up to the absurd notion that China can be the key to peace between Russia and Ukraine. Finally, they react to Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema insisting she will never become a Republican, and why that is good for the right in the short term and the long term.

Tucker-Fox Split, NYT Hits Biden on Age, ISIS Thrives in Afghanistan, Bud Light’s Damage Control

April 24, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Tucker-Fox Split, NYT Hits Biden on Age, ISIS Thrives in Afghanistan, Bud Light’s Damage Control” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for four martinis today, as they begin with the breaking news that Tucker Carlson and Fox News Channel are going their separate ways effective immediately. Then it’s on to the regularly scheduled martinis, starting with both the Wall Street Journal and New York Times raising the alarm about Biden running for a second term at his age and mental state.  The Journal says Biden is in “obvious decline.” Then they shudder at a Washington Post story revealing the Islamic State has a home in Afghanistan and his actively plotting attacks in Asia and Europe and is doing aspirational plotting against the United States. Finally, they discuss the frenzied damage control at Anheuser-Busch after losing billions in market share after celebrating the “womanhood” of transgender figure Dylan Mulvaney.

Feds Punish Good Credit Scores, Americans Stuck in Sudan, RFK Jr.’s Radicalism

April 21, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Feds Punish Good Credit Scores, Americans Stuck in Sudan, RFK Jr.’s Radicalism” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they once again offer bad and crazy martinis. First, they fume over upcoming changes to mortgage fees that will force homebuyers with really good credit scores to pay more so that buyers with shaky credit scores have lower costs. They also shake their heads as once again the Biden State Department is caught off guard by a civil war where it’s too late to evacuate Americans – this time in Sudan. Finally, as 14 percent of Americans who voted for President Biden last time now support Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Jim unloads on Kennedy and explains why his candidacy is not good for America.

China’s Hypersonic Missiles, Is Germany Abandoning Taiwan? Dems Keep FTX Money

April 18, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “China’s Hypersonic Missiles, Is Germany Abandoning Taiwan? Dems Keep FTX Money” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they mix two ominous martinis on China along with some broken political promises here at home. First, they shudder as the recently leaked national security documents confirm that China has developed hypersonic missiles that our carriers and missile defense systems are not able to stop. They also groan as China seems very confident that Germany will not defend Taiwan when Beijing moves towards “reunification” and they break down how U.S. foreign policy towards China over the past 50 years has largely failed. Finally, several months after promising to return or donate campaign donations from disgraced crypto figure Sam Bankman-Fried, two Democrats in the Senate are still hanging on to a lot of the money.

Pompeo & Youngkin Pass, Erasing the Age of Consent, Chicago Mayhem

April 17, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Pompeo & Youngkin Pass, Erasing the Age of Consent, Chicago Mayhem” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they appreciate both former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin for recognizing reality and taking a pass on the 2024 presidential campaign. They think highly of both men and would not be surprised or unhappy to see either of them run another time but there was no path this time around. They also recoil as a horrific new report from multiple United Nations agencies advocates decriminalizing any sexual activity, including sexual relations between adults and minors, as long as it is “consensual”. Finally, they note the mayhem caused by scores of teenagers in downtown Chicago Saturday night and the response from incoming Mayor Brandon Johnson, who won’t condone the violence but also won’t “demonize youth who have otherwise been starved of opportunities in their own communities.”

Criminal or Hero? The New IRS Intrusion, Pence’s ‘Implicit’ Trump Criticism

April 14, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Criminal or Hero? The New IRS Intrusion, Pence’s ‘Implicit’ Trump Criticism” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they serve up two bad martinis and a crazy one. First, they react to how some on the right are characterizing the National Guardsman accused of leaking top secret documents as a hero. They also vent about the IRS imposing a far lower standard for requiring a 1099 form when you are paid for work over apps like Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal. And they scratch their heads as former Vice President Mike Pence is expected to draw “implicit” contrasts with Donald Trump over the Second Amendment at this week’s NRA annual leadership meeting. Pence’s road to the nomination is virtually impossible to see as it is. Will allusions to policy differences really change anything?

Bud Light’s Bad Bet, Teen ID’s Intel Leaker, Dems Fight Over Feinstein

April 13, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Bud Light’s Bad Bet, Teen ID’s Intel Leaker, Dems Fight Over Feinstein” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they break down how Bud Light and Anheuser-Busch miscalculated so spectacularly by making transgender Dylan Mulvaney the face of a new marketing campaign and they remark on how thoroughly the left now dominates the policies and actions of corporate America. They also shake their heads as perhaps the most significant intelligence leak in a decade was solved by a teenager, who got permission from his mom to reveal the truth. Finally, they react to Democrats pushing California Sen. Dianne Feinstein to resign, mainly because they’re one vote short on the Judiciary Committee while she recuperates from a bout with the shingles.

Dems Choose Chicago, Ukraine’s Gloomy Forecast, Worsening Drug Shortages

April 11, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Dems Choose Chicago, Ukraine’s Gloomy Forecast, Worsening Drug Shortages” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they serve up two crazy martinis along with a bad one today. They begin by scratching their heads over why the Democrats would choose to hold their 2024 national convention in the crime-ridden city of Chicago. They also dig into the bleak forecast the recently leaked intelligence documents are painting for Ukraine in the coming months. Finally, they discuss the worsening shortage of medications – from antibiotics to chemotherapy drugs – and why the supply chain still hasn’t markedly improved for these critical products.

Major Intel Breach, Lefties Ignoring Courts, War on Natural Gas

April 10, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “Major Intel Breach, Lefties Ignoring Courts, War on Natural Gas” on Spreaker.

Jim Geraghty is back just in time to serve up three lousy martinis to start the week! First, Jim and Greg dig into what may be the worst breach of of top secret information since the Edward Snowden episode ten years ago and discuss what the damage might be to our national security. They also roll their eyes as the left, which constantly preens about norms and institutions, has several prominent figures urging the Biden administration to ignore a federal court ruling rejecting the FDA’s approval of the abortion pill mifepristone. Finally, they break down how the government’s unofficial war on natural gas has utilities looking to unload or repurpose pipelines and potentially setting up customers to have fewer and/or much more expensive energy options.

DeSantis Calls Out GOP Leaders, Kirby’s Afghanistan Lies, Tennessee Dems Expelled

April 7, 2023 by GregC

Listen to “DeSantis Calls Out GOP Leaders, Kirby’s Afghanistan Lies, Tennessee Dems vs. the Truth” on Spreaker.

Ricochet Editor-in-Chief Jon Gabriel is in for Jim on this Good Friday edition of the podcast. Join Jon and Greg as they cheer Ron DeSantis for calling out GOP leaders over many years for making conservative promises to voters and then failing to follow through on them. They also unload on White House spokesman John Kirby for trying to blame President Trump for the Afghanistan withdrawal debacle and for claiming he didn’t see any chaos during the withdrawal operation. Finally, they react to the expulsion of two Democrats in the Tennessee legislature for leading an extended disruption on the floor of the chamber earlier this week and they address the dubious explanations from Democrats about what really happened.
